Aus Fig. 2 wird deutlich, dass hier der Abstand der Seite 45 des Anhängers 33 zu den Sensoren 23 und 25 des Fahrzeugs 1 unterschiedlich ist. Soll beispielsweise aus der dargestellten Position geradlinig rückwärts gefahren werden, so gibt die Auswerteeinheit 21 Anweisungen, das Lenkrad 11 bzw. die Räder 3 und 5 in die in Fig. 2 dargestellte Position zu überführen. Sobald beim Rückwärtsfahren der Abstand der beiden Sensoren 23 und 25 zu der Anhängerseite 45 gleich ist bzw. die Anhängerseite 45 in eine zu der Heckseite des Fahrzeuges 1 parallele Lage gelangt ist, wird die Auswerteeinheit 21 Anweisung geben, das Lenkrad 11 in entsprechende Richtung so weit zu drehen, um auf einen geradlinigen Kurs zu kommen. Ggf. kann der Fahrzeuglenker zusätzlich Informationen erhalten, ob der das Fahrzeug weiterhin rückwärts bewegen muss, oder ob er das Fahrzeug zur Durchführung des Manövers vorwärts zu setzen hat. Auch beim Vorwärtsfahren kann der Fahrzeuglenker angewiesen werden, wie weit und in welche Richtung er das Lenkrad 11 zu drehen hat.In FIG. 2, the vehicle 1 is shown with a trailer 33 in folded-position.
