Automatic and self-locking mechanical box supports for vehicles,
especially for rail vehicles For wagons with tiltable containers, such as dump trucks,
Box tipper od. Like. It is known between the tipping box and the underframe
to articulate a spindle in order to prevent the box from automatically retracting.
To determine the tilting height and to keep the box in the tilted position, are on
the spindle adjustable nuts arranged. It is also known to pawls
to be arranged on the spindles, which are intended to prevent the box from tilting back.
These arrangements are, however, additional machine elements whose mode of operation is not
is flawless and where the adjustment to the tilt position is done by hand
got to.
On the other hand, it is known for electric wire rope hoists to brake the load
to achieve that on the shaft carrying the motor with sliding armature
a cone brake is arranged through which a load deceleration takes place, wherein the
The pressure required for this on the brake cone is carried out by the load itself.
The idea of such a load deceleration in box supports of the type mentioned at the beginning
To provide known type is not the subject of the invention. Rather, this exists
only in the implementation of this idea in such a way that the hinged on the box
Spindle carries a brake cone provided with the same thread, which so with
a mounted in the base brake body cooperates that the box on the
entire tilt path without additional power sources and automatically counteracts in every position
Tilting back is secured.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown schematically in the drawing
shown, namely Fig. 1 shows a side view of the box support, Fig. 2 shows a
Section along the line II-II of Fig. 1. On the box frame by means of bolts 1 is a
Spindle 2, which has a steep thread 211 at the lower end, is pivotably mounted.
On this is the brake cone 3, which is provided with a similar thread
is and carries the brake lining 4 on the cone. With the box upright (loading position)
the brake cone 3 lies with the brake lining 4 in the cone-shaped brake body
5, which is mounted with its pin 6 on brackets 7 of the underframe.
When the car body is tilted, the spindle mounted on the box frame becomes inevitable
with pulled up and takes the brake cone 3 with it until this with the upper one
The end face comes to rest against the sliding surface 8a of the cover 8, which is frictionally engaged
is coupled to the brake body 5 via the cam ring 11. Moving on the spindle
causes an inevitable rotation of the brake cone 3, which is caused by the non-locking
Thread of the spindle 2 and the brake cone 3 is caused. The stop 9 lifts
the brake cone 3 in the extreme tilted position by about 5 mm out of the brake body 5.
This prevents the brake from sticking, which makes it impossible to release it later
would be avoided.
Now comes after the tipping impact and after the load has flown out
the dead weight of the box has an effect, which brings it back into the loading position
should, the box on the non-tilting side can move around the aforementioned game of
Lower it by 5 mm. Here, the brake cone 3 lying on the stop 9 has now with itself
lowered and is with the brake lining 4 in the conical recess
of the brake body 5 come to rest. The immediate braking effect prevents
a turning of the brake cone 3 and thus a further lowering of the spindle 2
which the car body supports.
The car body should now be brought back into the loading position
are, the release lever 10 must be operated by hand. This causes a twist
of the stroke ring 11 causes the lower end face 15 of which rises in a helical manner.
The counterpart to this helical face is on the brake body
5. By turning the release lever 10 in the direction of the arrow, the lifting ring 11 unscrews
up and presses over, the ball bearing 12, the brake cone 3, which is with the collar
16 lies on the ball bearing 12, out of the brake body 5 and thus lifts the
Braking effect on the braking surfaces. The load of the box and the flap continues
due to the steep thread of the spindle 2, the brake cone 3 rotates and can
go down as long as the brake cone 3 by means of the release lever 10, lifting ring 11
and thrust bearing 12 held above
will. Further decelerations of the
Boxes are possible in any position when erecting. As soon as the brake cone
3 is left down, the braking effect begins on the braking surfaces and prevents
thus the further sinking of the car. The spindle 2 is through the lower sleeve
13 and the upper telescopic sleeve 14 protected from dust.
