Abstract
Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung und Verstaerkung eines zur Abgasreinigung dienenden Katalysatorwabenkoerpers, bei dem aus uebereinander angeordnetem, im voraus mit einer Stuetzmaterialschicht und einer Katalysatorschicht beschichtetem gewellten Folienband und planen Folienband ein spiraliger Wabenkoerper gebildet wird, der im Querschnitt runde oder ovale Form haben kann. Nach der Bildung des Wabenkoerpers wird durch diesen hindurch eine Stuetze gedrueckt, die ein Aufloesen des Wabenkoerpers und ein Aneinanderreiben der Folienbaender verhindert, so dasz sich ein formbestaendiger, starrer Katalysatorwabenkoerper ergibt. Bei diesem Verfahren kann der Wabenkörper erst nach erfolgtem Schweißen mit einer Stützmaterialschichi und mit Katalysatorstoff beschichtet werden, da das Stützmaterial die elektrische Leitfähigkeit herabsetzt und somit den Stromfluß beim Schweißen ver-/behindert. Wird das Stützmaterial in den fertigen Wabenkörper eingebracht, so verteilt es sich dort nicht gleichmäßig, sondern sammelt sich in den von c-n Folienverbindungsstellen gebildeten Nischen und zieht eigentlichen katalytisch aktiven Stoff an sich, so daß dieser nicht effektiv genutzt wird.
