Description
The method is applicable to the pretreatment of aluminum foil for use in electrolytic capacitors, as they are widely used in electrical engineering / electronics.
The patent literature already discloses various methods for achieving higher roughening during the etching of aluminum foils for electrolytic capacitors. One possibility is, for example, the use of composite films or aluminum alloys. A disadvantage is the use of composite films, as described in DE-OS 2613404 and DE-OS 2905124, that this is associated with a high production cost. For use in aluminum alloys z. As proposed in DE-OS 2804572 titanium and other trace elements, which result in compliance with prescribed casting, rolling, Zwischenglüh- and Abkühiungsbehandlungen films for electrolytic capacitors with increased specific capacity. Likewise, the addition of gallium in DE-OS 2804573 is proposed. Furthermore, as described in DE-AS 2403626, improved etching properties achieved in that an aluminum foil with 99.9% purity of one or more of the elements antimony, barium, zinc, lead, bismuth, calcium and chromium are added. A disadvantage of these solutions, the presence of said admixtures throughout the film material. After the formation of the aluminum foil used as the anode foil, these elements can lead to an increase in the residual current in the case of the formed foil.
By the invention, a higher roughening of the aluminum foil for electrolytic capacitors is to be achieved. In this case, foreign atoms are applied only on the surface of the aluminum foil, which are completely removed again after the etching process and thus can not contribute to increasing the residual current of the formed film.
The object of the invention is to provide a method which is applicable to any smooth foil of pure aluminum, without a special doping is required.
According to the invention this is achieved in that copper or silver is applied in small amounts on the aluminum smooth belt before the electrolytic roughening by electrodeposition or vapor deposition. The coated minimum quantities are with the use of copper 1 × 10 -3 g / cm 2 and amount upon application of Silver 5 10 "5 g / cm 2. The subsequent after this pretreatment electrolytic etching process may be performed in a known manner the superficially applied. Metals are removed again from the surface of the aluminum by the etching process and can be recovered from the etching electrolyte.
Im einzelnen sind erfindungsgemäß folgende Verfahrensschritte einzuhalten:In detail, the following method steps are to be observed according to the invention:
— Stromloses Beizen des Aluminiumglattbandes in 5 bis 10%iger Natronlauge bei Raumtemperatur- Electroless pickling of Aluminiumglattbandes in 5 to 10% sodium hydroxide solution at room temperature
— Reinigen der Folie zur Entfernung von NaOH-Rückständen- Cleaning the film to remove NaOH residues
— galvanische Abscheidung des zu verwendenden Metalls im geeigneten Galvanikelektrolyt- Electrodeposition of the metal to be used in a suitable galvanic electrolyte
— Reinigen der Folie bei Raumtemperatur und Anwendung bekannter Ätzverfahren.- Cleaning the film at room temperature and using known etching.
The aluminum foils pretreated in this way are etched more uniformly, without the etching removal being increased, and after the formation have an area capacity which is 20 to 40% higher than that of non-pretreated aluminum foils, depending on the structure of the smooth foil.
The inventive method will be explained in more detail in an embodiment. Smooth foil of pure aluminum is unpickled with 5% sodium hydroxide solution, residence time 1 min, then rinsed with distilled water. A part of the smooth film samples then passes through the electrochemical etching process in acidic salts without any further treatment. For proof of principle of the method according to the invention was deposited as a supporting electrolyte having a copper concentration of 1 x 10 -3 g / cm 2 on another part of the pickled Glatt film by electrodeposition in ammoniacal copper solution with NH 4 NO. 3 After this deposition, rinsing with distilled water followed by the application of the electrochemical etching process as in the former case. Both etching films are then subjected to test formation in 8% boric acid electrolyte. Thereafter, 35% higher surface capacitance values are measured on the formed film subjected to the pretreatment process according to the invention compared to the untreated film.
