Anwendungsgebiet der ErfindungField of application of the invention
The invention relates to a self-centering nozzle arrangement for coating strand-like goods, in particular winding wires or glass fibers for information transmission.
Charakteristik der bekannten technischen LösungenCharacteristic of the known technical solutions
In the coating of glass fibers which serve to transfer information, it is essential to avoid eccentricities of the coating in order to minimize the attenuation of the light signals. Practically, however, deviations from the centering of the fiber in a coating nozzle can not be avoided since centering accuracies in the micrometer range must be achieved. On the one hand, there are now elaborate devices that provide for centering by the fiber location is measured in two dimensions and in case of deviations, the coating unit is tracked accordingly. On the other hand, self-centering nozzles are already known in which forces which are directed toward the center due to hydrodynamic flow conditions occur, which again make the coating process symmetrical, for example DE-OS 2 832 825 describes a device for coating a continuously moving strand-like material A uniform paint application is known in that a scraper floats on the paint and the self-centering property of a hydrodynamic slit flow produces a concentric coating application, the disadvantage of which is that the device functions only in an upwardly directed movement of the extruded material to be coated.
Furthermore, an apparatus for painting wires, in particular with melts or lösnngen polymeric plastics is known, which has a movably arranged Abstreifnippel whose passage opening is dimensioned so that at ein'bestimmten withdrawal speed of the wire to be painted and at a constant viscosity of the leak after the Drying the desired order height results (DE-PS 820 456). A disadvantage of this solution, however, is that during the coating process eccentricities arise that 'does not allow a quality-appropriate coating of the thin strand-like material.
Ziel der ErfindungObject of the invention
The solution according to the invention should make it possible to provide a self-centering nozzle arrangement which can be operated economically and has higher utility value properties for coating strand-like goods, which excludes larger eccentricities during coating.
Darlegung des Wesens der ErfindungExplanation of the essence of the invention
The invention has for its object to provide a self-centering nozzle assembly that enables precise centering and thus dne quality coating with vertical feed direction of the strand-like material with low radial forces and in one or more layers can be applied in one operation. The features of the invention are that in the inflow region immediately before a nozzle opening of a coating J nozzle a further coating nozzle is arranged. The resulting annular gap between the arranged in the feed direction first coating die and the continuous strand-like material must be smaller than the corresponding annular gap in the subsequent coating die. The self-centering forces are very much dependent on this gap width. The smaller the gap, the larger the centering forces that occur. However, the must. Necessity of the first coating die still be so great that the diameter variations of the strand-like material to be coated do not disturb the process and still a flow of the BeSchichtungsmaterials in the centering gap is possible.
The ratio of the annular gap widths of upstream in the feed direction and downstream coating nozzle is two. In the case of large oscillations of the material to be coated, several coating nozzles are arranged one behind the other, since with a nozzle the decentering forces are too strong during the coating process.
Between the outer and inner walls of two nozzles arranged one behind the other there are inflow channels, via which different coating material is applied to the strand-like material in one operation in order to achieve a multiple coating.
The invention will be explained in more detail below using an exemplary embodiment. The accompanying drawing shows a section through the nozzle arrangement according to the invention. A light guide with step profile 8 drawn off from a preform passes from top to bottom through a container 7 constantly filled with coating material and coating jets 2, 1 arranged close to one another and likewise filled with coating material, wherein radially acting forces are generated in the conically running channel 4 which cause a pre-centering of the continuous light guide 8. A dielectric effect jacket having a thickness of 60 / .mu.m is applied to the diameter of 200 .mu.m thick light guide 8. The diameter of the coating die opening is about 300 / um. If the diameter of the first coating nozzle opening is selected to be 250 μm, then the centering forces can be increased by up to one order of magnitude compared with the next coating nozzle. Via the channels 4 and 5 different coating material is applied to the light guide.
