Abstract
Σε κλάσματα αργού πετρελαίου, ορυκτά καύσιμα, και οργανικά υγρά γενικά στα οποία είναι επιθυμητό να περιοριστούν τα επίπεδα συστατικών που περιέχουν θείο και που περιέχουν άζωτο, η διαδικασία περιορίζει το επίπεδο των ενώσεων αυτών μέσω της εφαρμογής ηχητικής ενέργειας. Η διαδικασία μπορεί να πραγματοποιηθεί τόσο με όσο και χωρίς την πρόσθετη παρουσία ενός οξειδωτικού παράγοντα, και με ή χωρίς αυξημένη θερμοκρασία και/ή πίεση. Η εφεύρεση πραγματοποιείται είτε ως μια συνεχής διαδικασία ή ως μια ασυνεχής διεργασία. Συγκεκριμένα περιγράφεται μια διαδικασία για την κατεργασία ενός οργανικού υγρού για να περιοριστούν τα επίπεδα σε αυτό των ενώσεων που φέρουν άζωτο. Το οργανικό υγρό συνδυάζεται με ένα υδατικό υγρό για το σχηματισμό ενός γαλακτώματος, με το γαλάκτωμα να υποβάλλεται σε ηχητική ενέργεια σε μια επαρκή ένταση και για ένα επαρκές χρονικό διάστημα για να διευκολυνθεί η οξείδωση μιας τουλάχιστον πλειοψηφίας των ενώσεων που περιέχουν άζωτο στο αναφερθέν οργανικό υγρό και για να μετατραπούν οι ολεφινικές ενώσεις στο αναφερθέν οργανικό υγρό σε παραφίνες.
