The solution concerns a preparation of N,N'-ethylenebis(octadecanamide) by reaction of ethylene diamine with stearic acid in presence of substance forming with the reaction water an azeotropic mixture, where the above mentioned azeotropic agent is selected from a group of substances, whose boiling temperature ranges from 130 to 170 degrees C, optimally from the group of benzene, ethyl benzene, m-xylene, dibutyl ether, isopropylene, n-decane.
