Abstract

The charge for the production of ferrotungsten in an electric arc furnace consists of a basic dose of tungsten concentrate, fine coke and granulated ferrosilicon 75%, to which is added a specified dose of iron, also containing 5 to 19% tungsten in metallic form with 90 to 99.9% utilization from waste from high-speed steels, for example worn tools.

Description

Vynález sa týká vsádzky pre výrobu ferowolfrámu.The invention relates to a batch for the production of ferro-tungsten.

Doteraz používané vsádzky k výrobě ferowolfrámu bolí vytvárané zo samotných wolfrámových koncentrátov typu wolframit, alebo sa optimálnej vsádzky dosahovalo kombináciou wolframových koncentrátov typu wolframit ferberit — hiibnerit a scheelit v róznych technologicky ověřených pomeroch. Wolframové koncentráty museli svojim chemických zložením odpovedať určeným kvalitatívnym nárokom, aby vyrobená zliatina — ferowolfrám odpovedala platným československým normám. Ďalšou súčasťou vsádzky holi redukčně činidlá, a to koks a drobné ferosilícium 75 %. Nepravidelné dávkovanie železa do vsádzky v roznych formách spdsobovalo kolísanie obsahu wolfrámu v zliatine a tým zhoršovalo kvalitu vyrábanej zliatiny, okrem toho takýto stav sťažoval vyčerpáváme natavenej zliatiny z elektrickej oblúkovej pece. The hitherto used batches for the production of tungsten have been formed from tungsten concentrates of the tungsten type alone, or the optimum batch has been achieved by a combination of tungsten concentrates of the tungsten ferrite - hiibnerite and scheelite types in various technologically proven ratios. The tungsten concentrates had to comply with the specified quality requirements for their chemical composition so that the produced alloy - ferro-tungsten complied with the valid Czechoslovak standards. Another part of the charge is reducing agents, namely coke and small ferrosilicon 75%. As a rule, a dose of 100 kg of tungsten concentrates was fed to a batch of 12 kg of coke and 10 kg of ferro-silicon. The stoichiometrically required amount of iron was obtained by a strict combination of the different types of concentrates in the batch, which however required to possess a wide range of concentrates in stock, a condition practically unrealizable under the conditions of the manufacturing plant. Therefore, in practice, chips and recyclable wastes from ferro-tungsten production have been used to introduce the required amount of iron. Irregular dosing of iron into the batch in various forms caused variations in the tungsten content of the alloy and thereby deteriorated the quality of the alloy produced, moreover, such a condition made it difficult to deplete the molten alloy from the electric arc furnace.

The above disadvantages are overcome by a batch for the production of tungsten concentrate based on tungsten concentrates with the addition of coke, ferro-silicon and return waste according to the invention. The invention is based on the fact that the charge consists of 75 to 80% of tungsten concentrates, 8 to 10% of coke, 6 to 10% of granulated ferrosilicon of 75% and 1 to 8.5% of secondary raw material of high-speed steel containing tungsten metal. 5 to 19% by weight.

An advantage of the batch according to the invention is that a batch of iron containing 5 to 19% of tungsten with 99 to 99.9% utilization is regularly added to the alloy produced, since the tungsten contained therein is in metallic form. An advantage of the solution according to the invention is further that the need for tungsten concentrates is reduced and the power consumption per unit of production is reduced. The slag returnability will be reduced and the productivity of the production unit will be increased. The tungsten content of the alloy is stabilized and the effort to discharge the alloy from the electric arc furnace is reduced. Significant will contribute to streamlining the production of ferro-tungsten by using high-speed steel wastes.

PříkladExample

Do elektrickej oblúkovej pece sa vsadí 2 500 kg wolfrámových koncentrátov typu wolframit, 300 kg drobného koksu, 250 kg granulovaného ferosilícia 75 % a 160 kg odpadov z rýchlorezných ocelí, ako sú opotřebované obrábacie nástroje a obrusy z opracovania rýchlorezných ocelí.2,500 kg of tungsten tungsten concentrates, 300 kg of small coke, 250 kg of granulated ferro-silicon 75% and 160 kg of high-speed steel wastes, such as worn cutting tools and high-speed steel table cloths, are charged into an electric arc furnace.
