Abstract
Se divulga una planta estéril macho citoplasmática del género Petunia que tiene, en el genoma mitocondrial de la misma, una molécula de ADN originada a partir del genoma mitocondrial de una planta de tabaco, o una planta híbrida con la planta estéril macho citoplasmática del género Petunia, o una progenie de la planta estéril macho citoplasmática del género Petunia o la planta híbrida. La planta estéril macho citoplasmática del género Petunia es una línea estable en la cual se mejora la capacidad de crecimiento de las plántulas jóvenes y que no es susceptible a restauración de fertilidad y además, logra la diversificación de los citoplasmas de CMS disponibles.
