Abstract
RESUMEN Un método que combina el proceso de destilación de retorta de petróleo (u otro proceso necesario para obtener/extraer petróleo pesado o bitumen) con el proceso para mejorar estos materiales utilizando sodio u otros metales alcalinos. Específicamente, el gas de lutita u otros gases que se obtienen del proceso de destilación de retorta/extracción se puede introducir en el reactor de mejora y utilizar para mejorar la materia prima de petróleo. También, los materiales sólidos obtenidos del reactor se pueden utilizar como una fuente de combustible, proporcionando de esta manera el calor necesario para el proceso de destilación de retorta/extracción. También se describen otras formas de integración.
