Abstract
Un proceso para el tratamiento biológico de aguas residuales en el cual se mejora el desempeño de un sistema convencional de lodos activados al agregar un sistema de biomasa granular aeróbica en una configuración de proceso paralelo híbrido. La biomasa residual y material suspendido del sistema de biomasa granular aeróbica se introduce en el sistema convencional de lodos activados para este propósito. En la configuración del proceso híbrido se combinan las ventajas de ambos sistemas para producir nuevas ventajas, mientras se reducen los inconvenientes de los sistemas individuales en gran medida.
