Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un proceso de tratamiento de aguas residuales, que comprende dividir un flujo de aguas residuales principal en (i) un flujo de aguas residuales sometido a un proceso de lodo activado utilizando biomasa aeróbica similar a flóculos, y (ii) una parte del flujo de aguas residuales alimentado a un proceso de biomasa granular operado en paralelo a dicho proceso de lodo activado y utilizar biomasa granular aeróbica, en donde parte de la biomasa que se emite desde el proceso de biomasa granular se alimenta al proceso de lodo activado, en donde dicha parte de la biomasa alimentada al proceso de lodo activado tiene una velocidad de asentamiento menor que la parte de la biomasa del proceso de biomasa granular que no se alimenta al proceso de lodo activado.
