Se divulga un método para producir 4,6-dialcoxi-2-cianometilpirimidina y también se divulga un intermediario sintético de éste. Más específicamente se divulga un método para producir 4,6-dialcoxi-2- cianometilpirimidina representada por la fórmula general (2) (Donde R es un grupo alquilo), que comprende hacer reaccionar un derivado ciano-acetato de ter-butilo representado por la fórmula general (1), (donde R tiene el mismo significado que se dio anteriormente) en presencia de un ácido, y también se divulga un derivado ciano-acetato de ter-butilo representado por la fórmula general (1) (Donde R representa un grupo alquilo)
