Abstract
Un aparato cuya función es la de extraer lodo a partir de aguas residuales y la de retener sólidos orgánicos en suspensión; incluye medios que permiten la entrada de aguas residuales en el sistema y medios que permiten la evacuación del líquido extraído del lodo que ha sido separado por el sistema; caracterizado por lo siguiente: una cámara principal cilíndrica de sedimentación de lodo cuya extremidad inferior constituye el fondo, una extremidad superior y una pared periférica; - una cámara secundaria de almacenamiento de lodo posicionada por debajo de la extremidad que constituye el fondo de la cámara principal, de manera a que el lodo que sedimenta a partir del líquido se deposite en dicha cámara secundaria, esta cámara secundaria presenta una abertura superior central que permite el paso a la sedimentación del lodo que proviene de la extremidad inferior de la cámara principal; - un asta vertical posicionada centralmente en la cámara principal y en la cámara secundaria, esta asta presenta un eje longitudinal; -medios para ocasionar una rotación de dicho eje vertical alrededor de dicho eje longitudinal; -un tabique que recorre la cámara principal transversalmente a media altura entre su extremidad superior y su extremidad inferior, a distancia y a partir del cual se forma un recinto superior en el interior de la cámara principal por arriba de este tabique y un recinto inferior a nivel de la cámara principal, por debajo de dicho tabique, los medios que permiten la entrada de las aguas residuales a nivel de dicho recinto inferior, y los medios de salida del líquido que está en comunicación directa con dicho recinto superior, dicho tabique presenta un borde periférico, casi impermeable integrado a la pared periférica de dicha cámara principal; este tabique presenta una apertura central inferior que permite el paso del asta, esta apertura central de tabique presenta un recinto con el asta de manera a formar una apertura anular entre el asta y el tabique para permitir el flujo de líquido ascendente a partir de dicho recinto inferior hacia el recinto superior, y medios mecánicos colocados en dicha cámara principal que permiten el flujo rotatorio continuo de un primer líquido de aguas residuales en el dicho recinto inferior, de manera a crear un segundo flujo ascendente a partir de dicho recinto inferior, que pasa a través de la apertura anular del tabique y el dicho recinto superior, para permitir el mantenimiento de un tercer flujo de fluido en rotación en el dicho recinto superior, para salir a través de dichos medios de salida, de manera que un gradiente de flujo se forma entre el tercer flujo de líquido y el primer flujo de líquido.
