Abstract

Un molde para una máquina de formación de artículos de vidrio que comprende hierro dúctil Ni-Resist (tipo D5) austenítico que tiene un contenido de magnesio en el rango de 0,01 a 0,04% en peso, un contenido de azufre en la cantidad de 0,00 a 0,01% en peso, y un contenido de titanio en la cantidad de 0,01 a 0,25% en peso.Un método de elaborar un molde para una máquina de formación de artículos de vidrio que comprende los pasos de: (a) fundir el molde de un hierro dúctil Ni-Resist Tipo D5 austenítico de acuerdo con ASTM-A439-84, y (b) controlar selectivamente la conductividad térmica del molde durante dicho paso (a) controlando selectivamente el contenido de magnesio del molde en el rango de 0,01 a 0,04% en peso, el contenido de azufre en el rango de 0,00 a 0,01% en peso y el contenido de titanio en el rango de 0,01 a 0,25% en peso.
