Abstract

Un proceso para la separación de un flujo de gas que contiene metano, componentes de C2, componentes de C3 y componentes hidrocarbúricos más pesados en una fracción de gas residual volátil que contiene una porción importante de dicho metano y una fracción relativamente menos volátil que contiene una porción importante de componentes de C2, componentes de C3 y componentes hidrocarbúricos más pesados, en donde:(a) el flujo de gas es tratado en uno o más pasos de intercambio térmico y al menos un paso de división para producir al menos un primer flujo de alimentación que se ha enfriado bajo presión para condensarlo todo, y al menosun segundo flujo de alimentación que se ha enfriado bajo presión;(b) el primer flujo de alimentación sustancialmente condensado se expande a una presión menor por la cual se enfría más, y luego se suministra a una torre de fraccionamiento en un punto de alimentación en la parte superior;(c) el segundo flujo de alimentación se expande a la presión menor, y luego se suministra a la torre de fraccionamiento en un punto de alimentación en un punto medio de la columna; y(d) el primer flujo de alimentación expandido se fraccionan a la presión menor, con lo cual se recuperan los componentes de la fracción relativamente menos volátil; en cuya mejora(1) un flujo de destilación de líquido se retira de la torre defraccionamiento y se calienta;(2) el flujo de destilación calentado regresa a un punto en la parte inferior de la torre de fraccionamiento que está separado del punto de retiro al menos en una fase teórica; y(3) las cantidades y temperaturas de los flujos de alimentación a la torre de fraccionamiento son efectivas para mantener la temperatura del vapor saliente de la parte alta de la torre de fraccionamiento a una temperatura a la cual se recuperan la mayor parte de los componentes en la fracción relativamente menos volátil.
