Abstract

Un método de preparar un sustrato no tejido que tiene fibrasfinas superabsorbentes sustancialmente continuas, que comprende los pasos de: a) preparar una solución de polímero acuosa de 10 a 75 porciento en peso de un polímero precursor superabsorbente lineal que tiene un peso molecular de desde 300 000 hasta 10 000 000; b) extruir dicha solución de polímero a una temperatura de desde 20°C hasta 180°C y una viscosidad de desde 3 hasta 1 000 Pa.s a través de un cubo que tiene una pluralidad de orificios para formar una pluralidad de líneas de hilos, dichos orificios que tienen diámetros dentro del rango de desde 0,20 hasta 1,2 mm; c) atenuar dichas líneas de hilos con una fuente gaseosa primaria bajo condiciones suficientes para permitir la viscosidad de cada línea de hilos, a medida que deja un orifico de cubo y una distancia de no más de 8 cm, para incrementar en forma incrementada con la distancia incrementada del cubo, mientras se mantiene sustancialmente la uniformidad de la viscosidad en la dirección radial, a una rata suficiente para proporcionar fibras que tienen la deseada atenuación y diámetro de fibra medio sin rotura significativa de fibras. 2Un sustrato no tejido de microfibras superabsorbentes sustancialmente continuas, que comprende: a) un sustrato no tejido que contiene microfibras superabsorbentes sustancialmente continuas, dichas microfibras superabsorbentes que tienen una alta absorbencia de fluido bajo carga a un nivel de 10 gramos de 0,9% en peso de cloruro de sodio acuoso por gramo de fibra absorbente seca; y b) dichas fibras que tienen un diámetro medio de fibra en el rango de desde 0,1 a 10 µm, estado sustancialmente libres de tiro, y siendo de una longitud tal que pueden considerarse como continuas en comparación con sus diámetros.
