Abstract

本实用新型公开一种电连接器(1),其包括绝缘本体(10)、定位架(20)及若干电路板(30),其中绝缘本体在其内设有若干平行的通道(14),定位架由若干组装在一起的基板(21)构成,相邻基板间形成有收容槽(200),每一基板包括绝缘基座(22)及分设在绝缘基座的相对两侧的若干信号端子(23)和一接地件(24)。若干电路板固持在绝缘本体与定位架之间,每一电路板包括可延伸穿过绝缘本体的相应通道以与对接连接器对接的对接部(300)及可收容在定位架的相应收容槽内的安装部(302),该安装部可与定位架的信号端子及接地件机械与电性配合。通过这种结构,这些电路板可轻易且稳固地组设在电连接器内。

电连接器
【技术领域】
本实用新型有关一种电连接器,尤其是指一种具有若干电路板以传输高速高频信号的高密度电连接器。
【背景技术】
随着计算机技术与通讯技术的发展,以阵列形式排布在高密度电连接器内的导电组件所需的用于在两电子装置间传输信号的路径的数量也越来越大。通常,这些高密度连接器广泛应用于服务器、路由器以及类似的需处理和传输高频高速信号的设备的内连接系统中。
这些高密度电连接器大致上包括两个可相互对接的电连接器,即与背板连接的插头连接器和与子板连接的插座连接器,其中背板可与子板平行,也可与子板相垂直。伯格(Berg)公司与泰瑞达(Teradyne)公司均有相关的产品,如泰瑞达公司的网页所示(网址是:http://www.teradyne.com/prods/tcs/products/hpi/vhdm/modoconfig.html)。该连接器具有射出成型的绝缘本体和以阵列形式排布的若干端子,其中每一列端子组设在一模块上,若干排相同的模块组置在绝缘本体内即可形成一电连接器。然而,当这些连接器为满足不同的信号传输需求而需采用不同类型的模块时,则必须对该电连接器进行复杂的改装,如此势必增加电连接器的制造成本。
如泰瑞达公司的美国专利第6,152,747号所揭示的电连接器。该电连接器包括设有若干收容槽的绝缘本体和可收容在相应收容槽内的若干板状模块,每一板状模块包括一绝缘支撑部和分设在绝缘支撑部相对两侧的信号端子与接地端子。然而,这些电连接器却难以满足急速增长的不同电气性能的信号传输需求。
如美国专利第6,276,604、5,980,321、6,293,827及6,299,484号所示的电连接器,其提供了若干电路板来满足不同电气性能的信号传输需求。
如美国专利第6,267,604号所揭示的电连接器,其包括一前绝缘部、可组设到前绝缘部上的一组装部和若干电路板。其中前绝缘部具有前壁,其上开设有若干通槽,组装部上设有与通槽对应的若干收容槽,组装部的底壁设有与收容槽相连通的开槽。电路板具有可延伸穿过前绝缘部的通槽而与对接连接器对接的对接部和可收容在组装部的收容槽内的安装边,该安装边上可靠焊接有若干导电端子,其可延伸出组装部的相应开槽以电性连接到外部电路板上。
但是,上述第6,267,604号专利所揭示的导电端子焊接到电路板上的过程较为复杂且耗费工时。此外,一旦导电端子连接到电路板上后,则较难与电路板脱离,如此,若导电端子或电路板受损,则两者必须全部替换,从而增加了电连接器的制造成本。另外,当电路板组设到组装部上时,设在电路板上的导电端子需收容在组装部相应的开槽内以使其固定,从而增加了电路板的组装难度。
有鉴于此,确实有必要对现有电连接器予以改良以克服所述的缺陷。
【发明内容】
本实用新型的目的在于提供一种电连接器,其具有可组装在一起的若干电路板,这些电路板可轻易且稳固地组设在电连接器内。
为实现上述目的,本实用新型电连接器包括绝缘本体、定位架和若干电路板,其中绝缘本体在其内设有若干平行的通道,定位架由若干组装在一起的基板构成,相邻基板间形成有收容槽,每一基板包括绝缘基座和分设在绝缘基座的相对两侧的若干信号端子与一接地件。若干电路板固持在绝缘本体与定位架之间,每一电路板包括可延伸穿过绝缘本体的相应通道以与对接连接器对接的对接部及可收容在定位架的相应收容槽内的安装部,该安装部可与定位架的信号端子和接地件机械与电性配合。
与现有技术相比,本实用新型电连接器的电路板插置在定位架内,可通过组设在定位架上的信号端子与接地件的弹性接触与抵压而轻易、可靠地收容于其内;此外,一固定件将电路板与绝缘本体串接在一起,以避免对接连接器与本实用新型电连接器对接时,电路板不致受插接力的影响而沿插接方向后退。

【具体实施方式】
请参阅图1至图5所示,本实用新型电连接器1组设在子板50上,其包括一绝缘本体10、一定位架20、固持在绝缘本体10与定位架20间的若干电路板30及可确保定位架20可靠收容在绝缘本体10内的紧固装置40。每一电路板30包括一绝缘基板,该基板由现有制造基板的材料制成,如FR4等。若干电路形成在基板的一侧表面以提供电连接器信号传输和接地,一导电介质层覆盖在基板的另一侧表面以形成基板的接地层。
绝缘本体10大致呈长方形,在其前部设有一对接部12,可与对接连接器8(如图5所示)对接以连接背板80。如图6所示,电连接器1与对接连接器8对接时,子板50与背板80即可形成电连接。绝缘本体10在邻近其底面100与后面102处设有一开口13及与开口13相连通的若干通道14,这些通道14沿绝缘本体10的纵长方向即第一方向上延伸并贯穿其对接部12及后面102。绝缘本体10在邻近后面102的相对侧面104上设有一对凹槽15和在凹槽15内进一步内凹的一对凹口16。此外,在绝缘本体10的相对侧面104上邻近后面102处横向即第二方向上开设有一对开孔17。
定位架20由若干基板21构成,这些基板21在结构上相同。如图7与图8所示,每一基板21包括一绝缘基座22和分别设在绝缘基座22相对两侧的若干信号端子23与一接地件24。其中绝缘基座22具有一主体部220、前端部222与后端部223。后端部223具有向上凸伸出主体部220顶边224的顶部以形成一肩部2220。后端部223在其后侧进一步设有一凹陷部2222。
绝缘基座22的主体部220具有完全平坦的一对侧面2200、2202,在该对侧面2200、2202邻近主体部220的底面2204处分别交错布设有第一与第二凸块25、26,且该两者的底面与主体部220的底面2204相平齐。每一第二凸块26包括一对肋部262及位于肋部262间的浮凸部264。主体部220的侧面2200上设有延伸穿过第二凸块26且长度与主体部220的高度相等的若干收容槽27,及位于相邻收容槽27间且邻近主体部220的顶边224的凹槽28。
如图9至图11所示,若干基板21组设在一起以形成一定位架20。若干收容槽200形成在相邻基板21间以收容电路板30在其内。组装时,若干基板21的肩部2220相互对齐,每一基板21的第一凸块25与形成在相邻基板21的两第二凸块26间的凹槽266相干涉配合。
随后,信号端子23与接地件24组设至定位架20上,其中信号端子23收容在收容槽27内,而接地件24则遮覆在基板21的侧面2202上。信号端子23由一金属板材冲压而成,每一信号端子23包括凸露出绝缘基座22的侧面2200外并可与插入的电路板30上的信号路径接触的一弧状接触部230、向绝缘基座22的侧面2202延伸的一弓形尾部232及连接接触部230与尾部232的连接部234。此外,在端子尾部232与绝缘基座22的底面2204之间存在有空隙(未标示)。
接地件24同样由一金属板材冲压而成,其紧密抵靠在相应绝缘基座22的侧面2202上,包括遮覆在主体部220顶边224的上边240及自上边240垂直向下延伸并容置在绝缘基座22的凹槽28内的若干接触腿242。每一接触腿242的顶端与上边缘240衔接处可在电路板30插入相应的收容槽200中时提供导引的功效。另外,接地件24具有可与子板50配合的若干压接尾部246,这些尾部246的数目与基板21的第一与第二凸块25、26的数目相等。接地件24还设有若干唇部247及形成在两相邻唇部247间的狭槽248。尾部246分别穿过设在该基板21的第一凸块25的通孔250及邻近基板21的第二凸块26的通孔2640并延伸出绝缘基座22的底面2204,接地件24的唇部247则收容在邻近基板21的第二凸块26上的凹槽268中。通过这种结构,该接地件24的唇部247可遮覆在邻近基板21的收容信号端子23的第二凸块26外以达成遮蔽的功效,其时邻近基板21的第二凸块26的肋部262收容在该基板21的狭槽248内。
再请参阅图1至图5,每一电路板30包括一对接部300、一安装部302及一后边缘304。在定位架20形成后,电路板30可相应插置在形成于相邻基板21间的收容槽200中,其安装部302收容在相应的收容槽200内并与基板21的信号端子23及接地件24相机械接触。同时,信号端子23的接触部230与电路板30上的信号路径相电性接触,接地件24的接触腿242与电路板30上的接地路径电性接触,电路板30的后边缘304则抵靠在绝缘基座22的肩部2220上。
电路板30平行插置在定位架20中后,可一起自后向前组入绝缘本体10内。定位架20收容在绝缘本体10的开口13中,绝缘本体10的通道14导引电路板30的对接部300组入绝缘本体10的对接部12内。最后,紧固装置40组设在绝缘本体10上以使定位架20可靠收容在绝缘本体10内。紧固装置40包括遮盖在绝缘本体10的后表面102上的后壁400及自后壁400的相对侧缘向前延伸出的一对扣持臂402。每一扣持臂402在其自由端形成有一扣钩404。扣持臂402收容在绝缘本体10的凹槽15中,而扣钩404则容置在绝缘本体10的凹口16内。后壁400在其内表面设有一凸起406用来与定位架20的凹陷部2222的顶面相抵靠,从而使绝缘本体10与定位架20可稳固连接。一圆柱状固定件60可延伸穿过电路板30的通孔32及绝缘本体10的开孔17,以使对接连接器8与本实用新型电连接器1对接时,电路板30仍可处在原位而不致受插接力的影响而沿插接方向后退。另外,对接连接器8也可采用上述定位架的结构,如此可减少制造成本。
请配合参阅图10至图12,电连接器1组设在子板50上后可在其间建立电性通路。接地件24的尾部246干涉收容在子板上镀金的贯孔54内,通过这种结构不仅可在电连接器1与子板50间建立接地路径,而且可避免两者产生相对移动。同时,信号端子23的尾部232与子板50上的导接垫(未图示)配合以在电连接器1与子板50间建立信号路径。
值得注意的是,电连接器1设有位于相邻两排信号端子23间的若干接地件24,每一位于相邻两排信号端子23间的电路板30具有分别设于其相对两侧的接地路径及接地层。这些接地件24、接地路径及接地层可用于在相邻两排信号端子间形成一遮蔽层以使电连接器1具有更好的信号传输效果。另外,插置在定位架20内的电路板30仅与基板21的信号端子23与接地件24配合,由于信号端子23及接地件24的接触腿242均具有弹性,则电路板30可通过其弹力作用稳固收容在定位架20内并与信号端子23及接地件24电性连接。也就是说,插置在电连接器1内的电路板30的安装部302无需额外的固持力即可稳固收容其内。如此,便于电路板30组入电连接器1内,同时可降低电连接器1的制造成本。

Claims (10)

1.一种电连接器,组设在外部电路板上,其包括定位架和若干电路板;其中定位架包括组设在一起的若干基板,相邻基板间形成有若干收容槽,若干电路板收容在上述定位架的收容槽内,其特征在于:每一基板包括绝缘基座及分设在绝缘基座相对两侧面的若干信号端子与接地件,信号端子及接地件均具有可用来与外部电路板电连接的尾部及位于绝缘基座同一侧的接触部;每一电路板包括仅可与信号端子及接地件的接触部机械与电性配合而无需与相应基板的绝缘基座相配合的安装部。
2.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其特征在于:上述基板包括分别位于其相对两侧且交错排布的若干第一与第二凸块,每一基板的第一凸块与形成在邻近基板的两相邻第二凸块间的凹槽配合。
3.如权利要求2所述的电连接器,其特征在于:上述接地件进一步包括延伸穿过基板的第一凸块及邻近基板的第二凸块以与外部电路板电性连接的尾部。
4.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其特征在于:上述基板在其一侧表面上设有可用于收容信号端子的若干收容槽,在该侧表面上还设有若干凹槽,接地件具有可收容在所述凹槽内的若干接触腿,上述接地件的接触部即形成在该接触腿上并可在插入的相应电路板弹性配合。
5.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其特征在于:上述接地件进一步包括遮覆在绝缘基座顶边的一上边,若干接触腿自该上边垂直向下延伸以便于电路板插入,上述接地件的接触部形成在接触腿上。
6.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其特征在于:该电连接器进一步包括一绝缘本体,其具有沿第一方向延伸设于其内的若干平行通道以及垂直于第一方向的第二方向上开设的开孔。
7.如权利要求6所述的电连接器,其特征在于:上述电路板收容于所述绝缘本体的通道内,其具有与所述绝缘本体的开孔排成一行的通孔。
8.如权利要求7所述的电连接器,其特征在于:该电连接器进一步包括可延伸串接在绝缘本体的开孔和电路板的通孔内以将电路板可靠固定于绝缘本体内的固定件。
9.如权利要求6所述的电连接器,其特征在于:上述每一电路板包括可收容在所述绝缘本体的相应通道内的一对接部。
10.如权利要求9所述的电连接器,其特征在于:其进一步包括可将定位架固持在所述绝缘本体内的紧固装置。
