Abstract

本实用新型公开一种电连接器(1),其包括设有若干通槽(14)的绝缘本体(10)、部分收容于上述通槽中的若干电路板(30)及安装上述电路板的定位架(20)。定位架包括若干基板(21)及位于每两相邻基板间以部分收容对应电路板的若干插槽(200)。每一基板具有一基部(22)、与电路板电性连接的若干端子(23)及覆盖基部的接地件(24)。每一接地件上端的相对两侧形成有方便电路板插入的导引部(245,248)。

【技术领域】
本实用新型是有关一种电连接器,尤指一种具有若干电路板以传输高速高频信号的高密度电连接器。
【背景技术】
随着计算器技术与通讯技术的发展,以矩阵形式排布于高密度电连接器内的导电组件所需的用以于两电子装置间传输信号的路径的数量愈来愈大。通常,这种高密度连接器广泛应用于服务器、路由器以及类似需处理及传输高频高速信号的设备的内连接系统中。这种高密度电连接器已揭露于美国专利第6,152,747、6,267,604、6,171,115、5,980,321及6,299,484号。这种高密度电连接器大致上包括两个可相互对接的电连接器,即与背板连接的插头连接器及与子板连接的插座连接器,插头连接器与插座连接器相互对接,从而于子板及背板间建立电性连接。
尤其,如美国专利第6,267,604及6,171,115号所揭示的电连接器,其包括一前绝缘部、可组设至前绝缘部上的一组装部及固持于其间的若干电路板。其中前绝缘部具有前壁,其上开设有若干平行的通槽。前绝缘部和组装部均由塑料或类似的材质制成。组装部上设有与通槽对应的若干插槽,组装部的底壁设有与收容槽相连通的开槽。每一电路板具有位于一侧面上的信号路径和位于相对侧面上的接地路径,以及可延伸穿过前绝缘部的通槽而与对接连接器对接的对接部。电路板的安装部插入组装部上的插槽中,并且其具有与外部电路板电性连接的焊接尾端。
然而,由于前绝缘部和组装部均未提供导引装置,因此电路板的插入需要一较大的推力,无法顺利地操作。况且,前绝缘部和组装部均由塑料材质制成,而使其具有一定硬度,这种插入过程极有可能破坏电路板上的印刷线路或导电镀层,从而产生对电路板与对接连接器间的电性连接不利的影响。
因此,确有必要对这种电连接器予以改良以克服现有技术所存在的缺陷。
【发明内容】
本实用新型的目的在于提供一种高密度电连接器,其具有若干电路板,这种电路板可顺利插入电连接器的绝缘本体中而其自身则免受破坏以确保电性传输效果。
为实现上述目的,本实用新型电连接器可安装于母板上,其包括绝缘本体、若干电路板及定位架,其中,绝缘本体设有若干通槽,上述电路板的一部分收容于通槽中,定位架包括有若干基板,于每两相邻基板之间设有可收容对应电路板的另一部分的若干插槽,每一基板具有一基部、固持于基部上与形成于对应电路板上的信号路径电性连接的若干端子,及覆盖在基部上的接地件,该接地件具有延伸入基部的一侧面上并与电路板上的接地路径电性连接的若干接地弹片,接地弹片的上端形成有可方便电路板插入的平滑的导引部。
与现有技术相比较,本实用新型电连接器通过在基板的接地弹片的上端形成平滑的导引部,从而可方便电路板的插入,使电路板上的线路免受破坏,确保电性传输效果。

【具体实施方式】
请参阅图1及图2所示,本实用新型电连接器1包括一绝缘本体10、一定位架20、固持于绝缘本体10与定位架20间的若干电路板30,以及可确保安装有电路板30的定位架20可靠收容于绝缘本体10内的固持装置40。每一电路板30包括一绝缘基板31及形成于侧面35(如图8所示)上的若干信号和接地路径33,上述基板31由现有制造基板的材料制成,如FR4等。
绝缘本体10大致呈长方体,于其前部设有可与对接连接器(未图示)连接的一对接部12。绝缘本体10于邻近其底面100及背面102处设有一开口13及与开口13相连通的若干平行通槽14,这种通槽14沿绝缘本体10的纵长方向上延伸并贯穿其对接部12及背面102。绝缘本体10于邻近背面102的相对侧面104上设有一对凹槽15及于凹槽15内进一步内凹的一对收容槽16。此外,沿绝缘本体10的横向方向延伸有穿透绝缘本体10的相对侧面104的开孔17。
请参阅图3所示,定位架20收容有若干电路板30,其包括肩并肩设置的若干基板21及两相邻基板21间的若干插槽200,每一插槽200具有可收容对应电路板30的宽度。值得注意的是,本实用新型的基板21与现有基板相同,因此下面仅对一块基板21进行详细描述。
请参阅图4及图5所示,每一基板21包括一基部22、一体镶埋成型于基部22上的若干信号端子23及盖设于基部22上的接地件24。基部22由绝缘材质制成,其一侧面221设有若干通槽27及于通槽27间的若干槽道28。另外,基部22的两相对末端延伸有一对端部222。
每一信号端子23收容于基部22的对应通槽27中,其具有凸出侧面221外并可与对应电路板30上的信号路径33电性连接的接触部230,以及自基部22的下方延伸的无须焊接的安装尾端232,该尾端可抵接于母板50的对应导电垫片52上并形成电性连接(如图9及图10所示)。
接地件24具有覆盖于与基部22的侧面221相对的另一侧面(未图示)上的主体部242,主体部242沿基部22的上边缘垂直延伸有指部244,这种指部244覆盖于基部22的顶面224上,自指部244的外边缘向下延伸有若干收容于基部22的对应槽道28中的接地弹片243。每一接地弹片243的上端形成有一导引部245,导引部245具有一平滑的斜面并且相邻于指部244,接地弹片243进一步形成有凸出于基部22的侧面221用以与电路板30的对应接地路径电性连接的凸出部247。另外,接地件24设有导引部248,导引部248于指部244与基部22间的同一边缘形成有相对于导引部245的倾斜部,以方便电路板30之插入。此外,若干压接尾部246于基部22的下方延伸用以插入母板50的对应通孔54中(如图6所示)。
请再参阅图1及图2所示,固持装置40形成有主体部400及自主体部400的相对两侧垂直延伸的一对扣持臂402。主体部400的内侧形成有与定位架20的端部222抵靠的凸块406。每一扣持臂402设有扣持于绝缘本体10的对应收容槽16内的一对扣持块404。
组装时,请参阅图1、图2、图9及图10所示,首先,被固定件60固持的电路板30顺利地插入定位架20的对应插槽200中,并且可靠的定位于定位架20上。然后,结合于定位架20上的电路板30自绝缘本体10的后部水平插入绝缘本体10的对应通槽14中,固定件60插入绝缘本体10的开孔17中,以定位电路板30。接着,固持装置40盖设于绝缘本体10的后部,扣持臂402沿凹槽15延伸直至扣持块404扣持于绝缘本体20的对应收容槽16中,从而有效保持定位架20及电路板30于绝缘本体10中。最后,电连接器1安装于母板50上,信号端子23的安装尾端232与母板50的对应导电垫片52电性连接,接地件24的尾部246压接于母板50的对应通孔54中,从而使电连接器1安装于母板50上,如图9及图10所示。
请参阅图8所示,接地件24的导引部245及相邻接地件24上与其对面的导引部248共同形成一插槽200,协同导引对应电路板30的两相对侧面35,使其平滑可靠的插入插槽200中。当电路板30插入定位架20中时,不会破坏电路板30的相对两侧面35上的信号及接地路径33,从而使电路板30与接地件24的对应信号端子23及接地弹片243间具有有效、可靠地电性连接效果。因此,本实用新型电连接器1所提供将电路板30插入定位架20的路径较现有技术更平滑可靠。

Claims (10)

1.一种电连接器,其可安装在母板上,其包括:绝缘本体、若干电路板及定位架,其中,绝缘本体设有若干通槽,上述电路板的一部分收容于通槽中,其特征在于:定位架包括有若干基板,于每两相邻基板之间设有可收容对应电路板的另一部分的若干插槽,每一基板具有一基部、固持于基部上与形成于对应电路板上的信号路径电性连接的若干端子,及覆盖在基部上的接地件,该接地件具有延伸入基部的一侧面上并与电路板上的接地路径电性连接的若干接地弹片,这些接地弹片的上端形成有可方便电路板插入的平滑的导引部。
2.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其特征在于:所述基板是肩并肩设置。
3.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其特征在于:所述基板的基部的一侧面设有收容端子的若干通槽,以及收容接地弹片的若干槽道。
4.如权利要求3所述的电连接器,其特征在于:所述接地件具有覆盖每一基板的基部的另一侧面的主体部、自主体部的上边缘垂直延伸并且覆盖每一基板的基部的顶面的指部,以及延伸出主体部的下边缘用以插入母板的对应通孔中的若干接地尾部。
5.如权利要求4所述的电连接器,其特征在于:所述接地弹片自上述指部延伸并可收容于基部的对应槽道中。
6.如权利要求5所述的电连接器,其特征在于:所述接地弹片的平滑的导引部相邻于指部。
7.如权利要求6所述的电连接器,其特征在于:所述接地件的指部与主体部间的同一边缘形成有可方便电路板插入的导引部。
8.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其特征在于:所述端子与接地弹片分别形成有接触部与凸出部,用以分别与电路板的对应信号路径和对应接地路径电性连接。
9.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其特征在于:该电连接器进一步包括与绝缘本体配合的固持装置,用以将定位架及电路板固持于绝缘本体上。
10.如权利要求9所述的电连接器,其特征在于:所述固持装置具有主体部及自主体部延伸而出的一对扣持臂。
