Abstract
一种线缆电连接器,包括纵长状且设有前表面及后表面的绝缘本体,该前表面设有纵长狭槽,以收容扁平柔性线缆,绝缘本体则设有贯通狭槽的若干个端子收容槽。每个端子收容槽内均收容有导电端子以电性连接插入收容槽内的扁平柔性线缆的导接部。在绝缘本体上设置有一支持平台,从平台前缘向上延伸有一凸伸卡榫,其内形成一收容空间,而插入的扁平柔性线缆后带部的端缘可与支持平台相锁固。
Description
本实用新型涉及一种线缆电连接器,尤指一种设有应力缓冲装置的零插入力扁平柔性线缆电连接器。
扁平柔性线缆(Flat Flexible Cable,FFC)运用在很多电子装置中,以减小整体尺寸及在两个电路板之间提供一柔性连接,而该扁平柔性线缆借焊接或借由扁平柔性线缆电连接器而直接与印刷电路板相连。但是,当应用扁平柔性线缆电连接器时,在线缆与电连接器间却没有足够的应力缓冲,且由于任何型式的运动或振动都可能会导致电连接器/线缆作用面的磨损侵蚀,在一些情况下,扁平柔性线缆将会完全与电连接器脱离。
再者,一般扁平柔性线缆电连接器与扁平柔性线缆间的连接是将扁平柔性线缆插入扁平柔性线缆电连接器绝缘本体的收容狭槽内,而使电连接器的端子能够凸伸于扁平柔性线缆内而实现的。为了减少在插入扁平柔性线缆的过程中由于端子偏离原定位而产生的抵抗力,一九八四年十月公告的美国专利第4,477,1 37号、一九八七年二月公告的美国专利第4,640,562号、一九八九年九月公告的美国专利第4,86 3,395号、一九九三年五月公告的美国专利第5,213,534号、一九九三年八月公告的美国专利第5,240,430号及一九九六年八月公告的美国专利5,542,855号中,均描述了一种零插入力扁平柔性线缆相关的结构。
本实用新型的目的在于提供一种在绝缘本体上形成有凸起的扁平柔性线缆电连接器,从而与插入的扁平柔性线缆后带部相锁固。
本实用新型的技术方案在于:线缆电连接器设有纵长向延伸的具有前表面及后表面的绝缘本体,该前表面设有纵长狭槽,以在其内收容扁平柔性线缆,而绝缘本体设有若干个贯穿狭槽的端子收容槽,每个端子收容槽内均收容有端子以电性连接插入收容槽内的扁平柔性线缆的导接部。其特征在于绝缘本体上设有支持平台,从平台的前缘向上凸伸有卡榫,而在其内形成收容空间,借支持平台可使扁平柔性线缆后带部的端缘锁固。支持平台上另组装有盖体,以确实抵压住扁平柔性线缆之上表面,从而确保后带部与凸伸卡榫的结合,借此实现应力缓冲作用。
本实用新型的优点在于扁平柔性线缆易于锁固在扁平柔性线缆电连接器上。
下面结合附图及较佳实施例对本实用新型作进一步描述。

请参阅图1至图6,本实用新型1包括一纵长延伸且具有前表面及后表面10a、10b的绝缘本体。沿前表面10a设有纵长的狭槽10c,以收容扁平柔性线缆20。绝缘本体10设有若干个贯穿狭槽10c的端子收容槽11,每一端子收容槽11内可收容有一导电端子12。绝缘本体10上设有支持平台30。从支持平台30的前缘向上延伸有凸伸卡榫31。从平台30的相对两端延伸设有两对翼状凸块32,其中每一翼状凸块32形成有凸体表面33。
凸体表面33设有导接用的第一倾斜面33a。邻接在倾斜面33a处形成有挡止部33b。凸体表面33进一步形成有第二倾斜面33c及邻接在第二斜面33c的凹槽33d。
在绝缘本体10上组装有盖体40,盖体40可压接在扁平柔性线缆20的上表面(未图示),且前述凸体表面33在结合过程中可使盖体40紧密扣合。该盖体40的相对两端包括一对与绝缘本体10的凸体表面33相锁固的夹持体41。夹持体41形成一对结合在盖体40的夹持体41与底面40a之间的楔块41a。夹持体41的下缘形成有一对与凸体表面33相结合的凸体41b。在凸体41b与楔块41a之间设有一长槽41c以收容翼状凸块32。当盖体40组装在绝缘本体10上时,在盖体40的底面40a(如图2所示)与支持平台30的上表面51(如图1所示)之间设有狭缝49(如图5及图6),而在盖体40的底面40a与平台30的凸伸卡榫31之间形成有一相对很小的开口50。请参考图4,凸体41b形成有斜面41e及凸起41d。
扁平柔性线缆电连接器20设有若干个导接部21以插入绝缘本体10的纵长狭槽10c,从而使导接部21与端子12电性连接。扁平柔性线缆电连接器20还包括设于其底面的背板22,从而提高扁平柔性线缆电连接器20的刚性。当盖体40组装于绝缘本体10上时,背板22的后缘是邻靠于凸伸卡榫31的壁面。通过此种配置,将插入的扁平柔性线缆电连接器20向后侧移动可有效缩退以消除导接部21与端子12脱离连接。
组装时,盖体40首先向下贴盖至平台30上,其中夹持体41的凸体41b中的前一个被插入设在两翼状凸块32之间的缺口52(如图3所示)从而使翼状凸块32收容在狭槽41c内。然后将盖体40向绝缘本体10的前表面10a移动。在移动盖体40的过程中,凸体41b的斜面41e沿相应凸体表面33的第一斜面33a移动,而楔块41a则抵靠在相应翼状凸块32的顶面。凸块41d滑移至挡止部33b,从而限制盖体40向相反方向运动。随着凸体41b的持续运动,凸体41d沿着第二斜面33c滑动直至凸起41d恰好滑至凹槽33d内(最后位置)。通过此种配置,盖体40确保扁平柔性线缆20进入扁平柔性线缆电连接器1的绝缘本体10内并阻止其向上的运动。在此种情况下,如图6所示,扁平柔性线缆20的前部及背板22可收容在盖体40及平台30之间的狭缝49内,并进一步伸入狭槽10c内以与端子12相连接,仅当扁平柔性线缆20的导接部21通过开口50外表面向后延伸,背板22的后缘是邻接于卡榫31上以阻止扁平柔性线缆20从电连接器1的绝缘本体10内拔出。
Claims (7)
1.一种线缆电连接器,包括:呈纵长状的绝缘本体,其设有前表面及后表面,前表面设有收容扁平柔性线缆的纵长狭槽,绝缘本体又设有若干个贯穿狭槽的收容槽,且每一收容槽内均收容有与插入的扁平柔性线缆电性连接的导电端子,其特征在于:绝缘本体上组装有支持平台,从平台的前缘向上延伸有卡榫,插入的扁平柔性线缆后带部的端缘可锁固在支持平台上,可限制插入的扁平柔性线缆后退的盖体也组装在平台上。
2.如权利要求1所述的线缆电连接器,其特征在于:盖体可压接在扁平柔性线缆的上表面。
3.如权利要求2所述的线缆电连接器,其特征在于:绝缘本体包括一在结合过程中使盖体紧密扣合的凸体表面。
4.如权利要求3所述的线缆电连接器,其特征在于:盖体的相对两端包括一对与绝缘本体的凸体表面相锁固的夹持体。
5.如权利要求3所述的线缆电连接器,其特征在于:凸体表面包括一容置夹持体的凹槽。
6.如权利要求4所述的线缆电连接器,其特征在于:夹持体形成一与凸体表面相结合的凸体。
7.如权利要求6所述的线缆电连接器,其特征在于:凸体最后位置是位于凸体表面的凹槽内。
