技术领域
本发明涉及以下类型的切削工具,即其中切削嵌入件被弹性地以自保持方式夹持于嵌入件穴口中。
背景技术
通常,采用夹持切削嵌入件的弹性夹持机构的切削工具具有较薄的厚度。一般在0.5-12mm的范围内,且切削嵌入件被保持在嵌入件穴口中,该嵌入件穴口位于切削工具的上、下夹片(或夹爪)的夹持表面之间。比如在开槽和分离的切削操作时,切削工具为支架刀片(holder blade)形式。该支架刀片通常被夹持在保持刀片的块体中。该支架刀片通常具有适当设计的开口,在嵌入件孔穴附近以形成较窄的桥接部,能够使得支架刀片的夹片之一相对于另一个的弹性位移有限的程度。通常,下夹片为刚性的而上夹片是可弹性移动的。该开口可为孔或者狭缝,或者是终止于孔中的狭缝的形式。该类切削工具的实例披露于美国专利号3,785,021、美国专利号4,580,930和美国专利号5,892,924中。采用弹性嵌入件夹持机构的旋转狭缝切削工具披露于美国专利号4,417,833中。切割器本体为盘状并具有较薄的厚度,切削嵌入件孔穴定位成围绕在切割器本体的周边。因为带有支架刀片,旋转狭缝切削工具的嵌入件穴口具有两个夹片,通过由该夹持夹片的位移引起的弹性力而将嵌入件夹持在该两个夹片之间。

发明内容

在旋转的狭缝切削操作中,离心力F作用于切削嵌入件14。从图3可清楚地看出,夹持夹片52的夹持表面66对抗着力F,因此阻止切削嵌入件14从嵌入件穴口16中飞出。在执行开槽的操作时,在将切削工具10从工件中抽出的过程中,切削嵌入件14会与沟槽壁接触而增大了用于将切削嵌入件14从嵌入件穴口16中抽出的摩擦力F。但是,夹持夹片52的夹持表面66的出现阻止将切削嵌入件14抽出。
