苦苣,俗名“苦菜”,是北方常见的野生植物。苦茎中空而脆,折断后有白汁流出。叶象花萝卜菜叶一样,颜色绿中带碧。叶柄依附在茎上,每片叶子有分叉,相互支撑挺立,开黄花。一枝花结籽一丛。苦菜籽上有茸茸的白毛,随风飘动,花落的地方就带有籽落地,就会生长出来。老幼苗均可采摘,采摘时带根,洗净,勿见阳光,阴干待用。
味苦,性寒,无毒。主治五脏邪气,厌食胃痛。经常服用安心益气,精神饱满轻身耐老,耐饥饿和耐寒,豪气不减,增强体力。虽然苦菜性冷但对人有好处。可治腹泻,清热解毒及恶疮疾病。调节十二经脉,治霍乱后胃气烦胀。
冰糖。冰块状的结晶态蔗糖。晶体粗大,坚硬透明。甘平,和胃润肺,和中益气,缓肝,化痰止嗽。
