背景技术
本发明一般涉及一种将旋转动力从旋转动力源传递到可转动的从动机构的传动系系统(drive train systems)。更准确地说,本发明涉及一种制造用于这种传动系系统的组合式驱动轴管和叉形件总成(combined driveshaft tube and yoke assembly)的改进方法。

具体实施例
现参考附图,在图1中示出一个将旋转动力从动力源传递到从动装置的传动系系统,一般用10表示。所示车辆传动系系统10是本领域中的传统系统,这里只是用来表示一个可以使用本发明的环境。因此,本发明的范围不是用来限制图1所示车辆传动系系统10所用特定构造的使用或通用车辆传动系系统的使用。相反,本发明可以用于实现下面所述目的的任何需要的环境中,这在下面将会更加清楚。

在优选实施例中,驱动轴管16由复合材料制成,例如美国专利Nos.5,127,975和5,261,991中所公开的的那种材料,这两项专利均是由本申请的代理人所有的。本专利引用上述专利公开的内容作为参考。另一方面,制作驱动轴管16金属材料也可以是与端部配件20所用的金属材料相同或者不同的金属材料。例如,端部配件20可以由合金钢材料或铝合金材料制成,而驱动轴管16可以由铝合金材料或镁合金材料制成。但是,本发明设想驱动轴管16可以由任何所需的材料或材料的组合制成。
图2和3示出组装之前的端部配件20和驱动轴管16。如图所示,端部配件20和驱动轴管16最初是同轴互相对准的,使得驱动轴管16的端部位于凹槽21a附近。然后,驱动轴管16沿轴向朝端部配件20移动,使得驱动轴管16的端部插入凹槽21a中,如图4所示。如果需要,驱动轴管16可以插入凹槽21a中,直到驱动轴16的端部与凹槽21a的底部接合为止,不过没有必要这样做。因此,驱动轴管16的端部便装在端部配件20的主体21的内体部分21b与外体部分21c之间。

然后,将磁脉冲成形设备31的感应线圈30置于驱动轴管16和端部配件20的轴向重叠部分周围,同样如图4所示。感应线圈30和磁脉冲成形设备31均是本领域中的传统器件设备,可以具体为任何产生电磁场所需的设备,以使端部配件20的外体部分21c变形,按照下面详述的方式与驱动轴管16接合。
磁脉冲成形是一种众所周知的加工方法,它可用来将金属工件变形成所需的形状。典型地进行磁脉冲成形法最初是将工件的一部分放在与心轴或另一个具有限定所需形状的表面的工件的轴向重叠相关部位上。在工件内部或周围产生一个电磁场。当电磁场产生时,工件承受巨大的压力,使它朝心轴或者另一个工件移动。如果在工件外部周围产生电磁场,则工件将向内变形,与心轴或另一个工件接合。另一方面,如果在工件内部产生电磁场,则工件向外变形,与心轴或另一个工件接合。
设置感应器30,以产生电磁场。感应器30典型地体现为缠绕成线圈的电导体,位于工件外部周围或者在工件内部。通过一对电导体的开关有选择地将感应器30连接到电源上。电源通常包括与多个电容器连接的发电源(source of electrical power)。该发电源开始与多个电容器连接,以便对其充电达到预定电压。其后,当需要进行磁脉冲成形加工时,开关闭合,以便通过一对电导体将多个电容器连接到感应器30上,形成一个闭合电路。当产生上述情况时,从多个电容器上产生大量的电流脉冲流过这一对电导体和感应器30。因而,感应器30在工件周围或内部产生电磁场(这取决于感应器30所在位置),进行磁脉冲成形加工。在电容器放电后,开关断开,使发电源对多个电容器再充电,达到下一磁脉冲成形或焊接加工预期的预定电压。
图5示出是完成磁脉冲成形加工后在组装最后阶段的驱动轴管16和端部配件20。如图所示,磁脉冲成形设备31的运行使感应器30在管叉21的外体部分21c周围产生电磁场。因此,端部配件20的外体部分21c向内变形,使与设置在凹槽21a中的驱动轴管16的端部外表面接合。在上述变形期间,驱动轴管16的端部支撑在端部配件20的内体部分21b上,以便保持与其同轴。同时,端部配件20的内体部分21b支撑驱动轴管16的端部,以防止由于端部配件20的外体部分21c的冲击对其产生的破坏。
磁脉冲成形加工使驱动轴管16的端部必定接合在端部配件20的内体部分21b与外体部分21c之间。如果需要,可以在进行磁脉冲成形加工之前,在端部配件21的主体部分21b和21c两者之一(或两者)上或驱动轴管的内表面或外表面上设置例如图3中虚线21d概略所示的粘接剂量。因此,在所示实施例中,当端部配件20的外体部分21c向内变形而与驱动轴管16的端部接合时,粘接剂便与端部配件20的外体部分21c及驱动轴管16接合,从而在两者之间形成胶粘接合。另外,如果需要,在进行磁脉冲成形加工之前,可以在端部配件21的主体部分21b和21c两者之一(或两者)上或驱动轴管的内表面或外表面上设置同样例如图3中虚线21d概略所示的一个或多个保持结构。这种保持结构例如包括轴向延伸的花键或其它突起。在所示实施例中,当端部配件20的外体部分21c向内变形而与驱动轴管16的端部接合时,便在两者之间形成可靠连接。
在一个可替换的实施例中,可以以这样的方式,即去掉内体部分21b,在端部配件20上构成凹槽21a,因而就只设置外体部分21c。在这种情况下,在磁脉冲成形加工期间,驱动轴管16的端部不会支撑在内体部分21b上。同样地,可以以这样的方式,即去掉外体部分21c,在端部配件20上构成凹槽21a,因而就只设置内体部分21b。在这种情况下,在磁脉冲成形加工期间,驱动轴管16的端部不会支撑在外体部分21c上。
此外,如果驱动轴管16是金属材料制成的,则可在驱动轴管16的端部上构成凹槽21a,而不是在端部配件20中。这会使端部配件20的主体部分21的一部分能插入上述凹槽中,同样地将驱动轴管16固定。最后,如果驱动轴管16和端部配件20均由金属材料制成,则可操作磁脉冲成形设备31在两者之间进行磁脉冲焊接加工,而不只是进行磁脉冲成形加工。

Claims (10)

1.一种制造第一和第二部件总成的方法,该方法包括步骤:
(a)设置其中具有凹槽的第一部件;
(b)将第二部件的一部分设置在第一部件上构成的凹槽中;并且
(c)进行磁脉冲成形或焊接加工,使第一部件的一部分变形而与第二部件的一部分接合,以构成总成。
2.如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,通过设置带有限定内体部分的凹槽的第一部件进行所述步骤(a),通过将第二部件的所述部分插到内体部分周围进行所述步骤(b),通过第一部件的内体部分的向外变形而与第二部件的所述部分接合进行所述步骤(c)。
3.如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,通过设置带有限定外体部分的凹槽的第一部件进行所述步骤(a),通过将第二部件的所述部分插到外体部分中进行所述步骤(b),通过第一部件的外体部分的向内变形而与第二部件的所述部分接合进行所述步骤(c)。
4.如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,通过设置带有限定内体部分和外体部分的凹槽的第一部件进行所述步骤(a),通过将第二部件的所述部分插到内体部分与外体部分之间进行所述步骤(b),通过第一部件的内体部分和外体部分中至少一个变形而与第二部件的所述部分接合进行所述步骤(c)。
5.如权利要求4所述的方法,其特征在于,通过将第二部件的所述部分支撑在第一部件的内体部分和外体部分中的一个上进行所述步骤(b),通过第一部件的内体部分和外体部分中的另一个变形而与第二部件的所述部分接合进行所述步骤(c)。
6.如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,通过在第一部件上构成的凹槽中设置粘接剂进行所述步骤(a),通过第一部件的所述部分的变形而与第二部件的所述部分和粘接剂接合进行所述步骤(c)。
7.如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,通过在第一部件上构成的凹槽中设置保持结构进行所述步骤(a),通过第一部件的所述部分的变形而与保持结构和第二部件的所述部分接合进行所述步骤(c)。
8.如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,通过设置用金属材料制成的第一部件进行所述步骤(a),通过设置用金属材料制成的第二部件进行所述步骤(b)。
9.如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,通过设置用金属材料制成的第一部件进行所述步骤(a),通过设置用复合材料制成的第二部件进行所述步骤(b)。
10.如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,通过设置用于驱动轴总成的端部配件进行所述步骤(a),通过设置用于驱动轴总成的驱动轴管进行所述步骤(b)。
