Abstract

技术领域
本发明一般涉及在蜂窝网和公共或私人数据网之间的非话消息的发送和接收，特别涉及用于在蜂窝网和公共数据网之间消息传递的方法和系统。
背景技术
全世界范围内，成千上万的用户在使用当朋友、家庭和同事在线时能够通知他们的软件用作实时的消息交换。这类实时交换的通常使用的术语是即时传信。即时传信很便宜，大多数卖主分送该产品，其它的收取正常的注册费。同时它是强大的，允许用户在一个窗口通信，同时例如在另一个窗口浏览一个文件。在不同地方的工作组成员可以建立重要的会谈，发表观点和互相谋略。它提供了快速和直接的协作，很少要买什么和建太多东西。
最有名的即时系统是最初被设计作为AOL的付费服务的一个特点的美国在线的Instant Messenger(AIM)。AIM是一种只要有Internet连接的任何人都能下载的软件，不管他们是否是AOL成员。在注册一个屏幕名字后，用户可以保持AOL成员和其它AIM用户的列表，并且无论何时列表中的这些人中的一个上线，都会被告知。当列表中的这些人中的一个上线时，相应的屏幕名字出现在屏幕上的一个AIM界面窗口中。通过点击AIM界面窗口中出现的名字，之后用户可以发送一个即时消息并发起一次会谈通话。用户同时可以将他们的伙伴分成组。例如，一个律师可以为同伴、合伙人、内部辩护人和对手创建各自的组。
其它销售商，例如雅虎、PeopleLink，Mirabils(ICQ)和Activerse提供类似的即时消息服务。
尽管即时消息系统的明显的成功，它仍然局限于通过有硬件连接到Internet的基于计算机的系统接入服务的用户。存在一种对在硬件连接的Internet系统之外，提供即时消息，对另一在线状态的快速确认和实时文本通信的好处的需求。特别在无线环境中，知道用户是否打开他们的蜂窝电话是很有利的。经由文本消息进行通信也是有利的，这种通信与语音通信相比费用大大减小，原因是文本消息数据占用的带宽或资源比语音数据小得多。
发明内容
本发明提供一种用于在无线和有线环境中进行即时消息通信的方法、系统和计算机程序产品。首先，一条消息从一个移动单元装置经由无线通信网络发出。该消息包括一个目的地地址，与移动单元装置的用户相关联的信息，消息内容和消息地址。根据在即时消息系统中预先为移动单元装置的用户存贮的信息，如果目的地地址与一个即时消息操作相关联，如果被要求由相关联的即时消息操作来确定，那么在即时消息系统中使用包含在消息内容中的信息执行相关联的即时消息操作。根据在即时消息系统中预先为移动单元装置的用户存贮的信息，如果目的地地址与一个即时消息名字相关联，那么根据消息内容创建一个即时消息，并发送给与即时消息名字相关联的用户。
遵照本发明的另一个方面，如果所述的即时消息操作是一个注册操作，则根据预先存贮的用户简表信息和消息内容发起一个即时消息通话。消息内容是一个与移动单元装置的用户和一个预定义的密码相关联的一个即时消息名。
遵照本发明的另一个方面，与为即时消息系统中的移动单元装置的用户存贮的即时消息名相关联的用户的状态信息被确定并发送到用户的移动单元装置。用户的移动单元装置之后显示被发送的状态信息。
还是遵照本发明的另一个方面，如果所述的即时消息操作是一个退出系统的操作，则与移动单元装置的用户相关联的即时消息通话被终止。
进一步还是遵照本发明的另一个方面，如果所述的即时消息操作是一个删除即时消息名字操作，那么根据消息内容，存贮的即时消息被删除。消息内容至少是一个即时消息名。
还是遵照本发明的另一个方面，如果所述的即时消息操作是一个更新即时消息名字操作，与为即时消息系统中的移动单元装置的用户存贮的即时消息名相关联的用户的状态信息被确定并发送到用户的移动单元装置。用户的移动单元装置之后显示被发送的状态信息。
遵照本发明的更进一步的方面，在即时消息系统中即时消息名是与目的地地址相关联的。这种相关根据移动单元装置的一个注册用户，被保存在即时消息系统的内存中。一个可执行的地址装载程序根据保存的关联来产生，之后通过无线环境发送到注册用户的移动单元装置。在移动单元装置中，可执行的地址装载程序被执行，从而把相关联的即时消息名和地址输入到内存。

具体实施方式
本发明是一种集成的无线和传统的即时传信的系统和方法。如图1所示，系统20包括一个包括一个路由服务器24和一个用于存贮每个预订用户简表的数据库26的即时消息路由系统22。每个用户简表包括一个其中每个名字分配一个地址(电话号码)的即时消息名的列表。路由服务器24与一个或多个与一个或多个无线移动载波34通信的短信服务中心(SMSC)32通信。每个无线移动载波34支持操作移动单元装置36，例如手持蜂窝电话，背包电话或车载电话的预订用户。路由服务器24同时连到一个公共或私人数据网络30上，例如Internet。同时连到公共或私人数据网络30上的是一个即时消息服务器40和一个或多个传统系统42，例如个人计算机。
在路由服务器24和短信服务中心32之间的通信链路也可以是一个公共或私人数据网络，例如Internet或一个私人的专用线路。在通信链路中存在的一个协议定义了在路由服务器24和短信服务中心32之间通信的信息的结构。这种链路最好是在其上运行TCP/IP的Internet。在TCP/IP上运行的是另一种允许路由服务器24确认到移动单元装置36的通信的有效性的协议。存在于TCP/IP上的一种示例协议是短信对等网络(SMPP)协议或配置或者管理程序(CDMP)协议。这些协议提供到移动单元装置36的消息传递的状态的可见性。
一种数据运载协议定义了在移动单元装置36、移动载波34和短信服务中心32之间通信的数据消息的结构。被作为欧洲主要的数字无线标准的全球移动通信系统(GSM)环境，使用短信服务(SMS)标准数据运载协议用于在移动单元装置36、无线移动载波34和短信服务中心32之间传递的格式化数据。SMS协议描述了被称作SMS包的在系统中发送或接收的数据的格式。遵照本发明，从移动单元装置发出的数据消息的格式，即SMS包，包括移动单元装置的电话号码，目的地电话号码，短信服务中心地址(最好是一个号码)，一个有效性周期值和消息内容。有效性周期值通知短信服务中心32试图传递多长时间。每个数据消息(SMS包)最好是一个单个的信息块。如在无线通信领域的那些熟练人员所容易理解的，SMS包可被分成多个数据包并以不同间隔发送。
图2示意一种用于为蜂窝电话远程建立一个即时消息名的列表的方法。首先，一个预订到即时消息服务的用户使用连到网络30的一个传统系统42来登录到由路由服务器24支持或产生的一个网址上。用户通过完成可在与服务器24或40在线通信期间执行的或通过其它途径，例如e-mail，传统邮件或电话通信执行的一个注册过程后，成为一个预订者。一旦用户通过最好是用密码确认来完成注册或登陆进入路由服务器的网址，用户开始用于用户的移动单元装置36的即时消息名列表(即伙伴列表)的创建。判决块50中，如果蜂窝电话用户知道对应于一个期望的接受者的即时消息名，用户输入即时消息名。在方框52中，输入的即时消息名之后被存贮在数据库26中一个位置的查找表中。查找表根据预定义的用户简表信息来存贮。存贮在查找表中的每个即时消息名有一个对应的目的地地址，最好是一个电话号码。例如，路由服务器24从移动载波34或一个电信控制代理处接收一套n个电话号码。在用于每个用户简表的数据库26中，服务器24从n个电话号码的集合中选一个号码与输入的即时消息名相关联。结果，路由系统22复用了有限个电话号码。
如果在判决块50中，蜂窝电话用户不知道对应于一个期望的接受者的即时消息名，用户在方框54中输入对应于期望的接受者的信息，例如电子邮件地址。管理名字列表创建的网址的服务器，之后在块60中，寻找对应于输入的信息的即时消息名。在判决块60中，如果有一个对应的即时消息名，那么对应的即时消息名被输入和保存，见上面的方框52。在判决块60中，如果搜索没能找到对应的即时消息名，那么没有名字输入发生，用户在判决方框62中被给予机会输入更多的即时消息名。在方框52之后的判决模块中，用户也被给予机会输入更多的即时消息名。
在判决方框62中，如果用户不希望输入更多的即时消息名，在方框68中，管理名字列表创建的网址的服务器产生一个程序用于把创建的即时消息名列表编程到用户的移动单元装置36中去。下面，在方框70中，产生的程序通过短信服务中心32发送，在那里它根据合适的协议被格式化，之后通过移动载波34发送到用户移动单元装置36。在方框72中，用户移动单元装置36接收和执行程序，从而将即时消息名列表保存到存贮在内存中的地址簿中。换言之，移动单元装置被以空中编程的方式被编程，从而在移动单元装置的即时消息列表(即地址本)中包括即时消息名的列表。
在另外的优选实施例中，如果移动载波34和对应的移动单元装置36不包含用于接收和执行装载保存的即时消息名列表的程序的硬件和软件部分，即时消息名的加载和存贮在路由系统22中的对应的电话号码被手动输入到用户的移动单元装置36的地址本中。
图3-7示意使用一个移动单元装置通过无线和有线网络进行的即时消息操作传递、消息传递和即时消息的接收的过程，首先，在图3的方框80中，通过移动单元装置36上的一个用户接口，用户根据从即时消息名路由服务器24接收的最新存贮的即时消息名的状态信息，从移动单元装置的地址本中选择即时消息操作或一个即时消息名作为一个登录，状态更新或与即时消息名路由服务器24最后通信的结果(见下面的图5)。之后，用户输入消息内容信息(可以是与操作相关的信息或相应的一个消息)。另外地，首先消息内容信息被输入，然后即时消息操作或即时消息名被选择。与即时消息名路由服务器24和移动单元装置36的用户交互的例子在下面的图8-14中作为例子来示意。下面，在方框82中，用户的选择和输入的信息根据预定的协议被格式化并发送到移动载波34。在方框84中，移动载波34接收了格式化的数据并根据包含的短信服务中心的地址信息，发送格式化的数据给短信服务中心32。在判决方框86中，短信服务中心32确定接收的格式化数据是否包括分配给即时消息路由服务器24的地址数据，即一个地址字段或一个电话号码。如果格式化的数据不包含分配给即时消息路由服务器24的地址数据，格式化的数据可能是一个电子邮件消息，并在方框88中根据已知的蜂窝短信处理方法被处理。对于蜂窝电话也通常称为电子邮件。如果格式化的数据不包含分配给即时消息路由服务器24的地址数据，那么格式化的数据根据用于在短信服务中心32和即时消息路由服务器24之间的通信信息的预定的协议，重新进行格式化，之后在方框90中发送到即时消息路由服务器24。
如图4所示，在判决方框102中，即时消息路由服务器24将包含在重新格式化的数据中的目的地号码与对应于包含在接收数据中的移动单元装置的电话号码的数据库26中的用户简表位置中的查找表进行比较。比较确定对应于目的地号码的是什么操作。如果与目的地号码对应的操作是一个即时消息操作，那么即时消息路由服务器24执行即时消息操作，见下面的图5。如果与目的地号码对应的操作是一个即时消息名，那么在方框104中，即时消息路由服务器24将格式化的数据解包为一个即时消息并把它发送到与即时消息名相关联的接受者。在解包发生之前或之后，在判决方框106中，即时消息路由服务器24确定对应于即时消息名的接受者是否登录到即时消息系统，即即时消息服务器40。如果接受者没有登录，在方框108中，即时消息路由服务器24通过短信服务中心32和移动载波34发送一个失败消息给用户的移动单元装置36。在第一个优选实施例中，如果接受者没有登录，即时消息服务器40存贮即时消息直到即时消息服务器40检测到接受者已通过即时消息路由服务器24或传统的系统42登录。在第二个另外的优选实施例中，如果接受者没有登录，即时消息被转发给先前指定的电子邮件地址。
如果接受者登录了，在方框110中，即时消息路由服务器24通过即时消息服务器40经网络30发送即时消息给接受者。发送一个即时消息给移动单元装置的接受者的过程在下面的图6和7中更详细地进行描述。
图5示意了处理从对应于即时消息操作的移动单元装置36接收的数据的过程，接图4的B。首先，在判决方框120中，如果操作是一个登录操作，那么即时消息路由服务器24为发送登录操作的移动单元装置36相关联的用户建立一个与即时消息服务器40的新的即时消息通话。在方框122中，一个新的即时消息通话的建立遵照包含在从移动单元装置36发送的消息内容中的正确的密码来完成。在方框124中，即时消息路由服务器24与即时消息服务器40一起检查来确定与用户相关联并存贮在数据库26中的即时消息名列表中的哪个名字是可获得的或登录的。在方框126中，确定了谁是可获得的之后通过短信服务中心32和移动载波34发送到移动单元装置36。在方框127中，一旦移动单元装置36接收了可获得的确定，装置36处理它并使得可获得的信息可由用户获得使用。

图6和7示意通过即时消息路由服务器24发送一个即时消息给从移动单元装置36登录到即时消息服务的接受者的过程。接图4的C，当一个即时消息被从移动单元装置36的另一个用户或从一个传统系统42的用户，例如一个桌面或膝上型电脑发送时，图6的过程发生。首先，在方框140中，即时消息服务器40接收一个即时消息并在方框142中把它发送到即时消息确认的注册的接受者。在判决方框144中，如果接受者是一个正常的消息接受者，即不是一个通过即时消息路由服务器24有效的即时消息通话的接受者，那么在方框146中，接受者随每个步骤接收并查看即时消息。另一方面，在判决方框144中，如果接受者是一个通过即时消息路由服务器24有效的即时消息通话的用户，那么在方框148中，即时消息路由服务器24接收即时消息。之后，在方框150中，即时消息路由服务器24根据预定义的协议准备接收的即时消息并把准备好的即时消息发送到短信服务中心32，在那里短信服务中心32存贮并根据预先规定的无线协议转发即时消息给移动载波36，见方框152。
如图7中所示，在方框160中，移动载波36准备好从短信服务中心32接收的用于发送的即时消息并把准备好的发送发给移动单元装置36。在判决方框162中，如果移动单元装置36成功地接收了即时消息的准备好的发送，那么在方框164中，移动单元装置36向短信服务中心32应答发送被接收。之后，在方框166中，短信服务中心32接收了移动单元装置的成功应答并删除存贮的即时消息。
然而，在判决方框162中，如果移动单元装置36不能成功地接收即时消息的准备好的发送，并且在判决方框168中，如果未达到发送传递的门限，那么在方框170中，一个消息被发送给短信服务中心32告知移动单元装置36未能成功地接收即时消息。这种未成功接收的消息由移动载波34发送。当短信服务中心32接收了一个未成功接收的消息，在方框172和160中，短信服务中心32释放存贮的对应于未成功发出的发送的即时消息并通过移动载波34重新把这个发送发给移动单元装置36。
再次地，在判决方框162中，如果移动单元装置36不能成功地接收即时消息的准备好的发送，并且在判决方框168中，如果达到了发送传递的门限，那么在方框174中，移动载波34通过短信服务中心32发送一个消息给即时消息路由服务器24，告知移动单元装置36未连接或没在接收即时消息。当即时消息路由服务器接收了这种类型的一个消息，在方框176中，即时消息路由服务器24结束或注销掉与未能接收发送的移动单元装置36的用户相关联的即时消息通话。发送传递门限最好是一个预定的传递尝试的数目。一旦已达到或超过尝试的数目，移动载波34就假定移动单元装置36为关或在接收范围之外。这对于那些在蜂窝电话通信领域的熟练人员来说很容易理解：当蜂窝电话在与移动载波通信范围外时，可以使用不同的数据传递方法用于确保在临时的时间周期期间信息能被传递。
图8-14示意用于即时消息名列表创建(图2)和用于移动单元装置交互(图3-7)的用户界面的例子。如图8中所示，一个登录到窗口200的无线即时消息包括输入用户的屏幕名字202和密码204的数据域。用户的屏幕名字和密码作为先前执行的注册过程的结果，被存贮在路由服务器24或即时消息服务器40中的一个中。在正确的信息输入到数据域202和204之后，用户被提供接入各种用户无线即时消息信息，例如用户帐户信息和一个即时消息名列表界面，如图9所示。登录窗口200的无线即时消息在连到公共或私人数据网络30的传统系统42上显示。传统系统42包括从即时消息路由服务器24或即时消息服务器40接收的作为注册过程的结果的先前加载的软件。
如图9所示，即时消息名列表窗口220是一个允许用户与存贮的即时消息名列表交互的一个界面。列表中的每个即时消息名对应一个分配给即时消息路由服务器24的一个电话号码。通过窗口220，用户根据存贮在用户移动单元装置中的地址本与用户期望的输入的比较，输入、删除或重新排序即时消息名。主管窗口220的服务器24或40为由用户输入的每个新的即时消息名分配一个电话号码。分配的电话号码是从特别为此目的分配的电话号码池中选出的。在用户输入任何新的即时消息名到窗口220之后，用户请求加载最新输入的即时消息名到移动单元装置36中去。主管窗口220的服务器24或40之后产生一个通过短信服务中心32和移动载波34发送到用户的移动单元装置36的即时消息名入口可执行程序。当用户的移动单元装置36接收该可执行程序时，移动单元装置36执行即时消息名入口可执行程序并把最新输入的名字和相对应的电话号码加载到存贮在内存中的移动单元装置的地址本中。
图10表示具有作为示例的第一地址本用户界面屏幕228的移动单元装置230。第一地址本用户界面屏幕228包括存贮在移动单元装置的地址本中的第一组4个位置的即时消息名字。移动单元装置230包括屏幕上和屏幕外的用户界面控制的特性(例如，触摸屏、光标控制、软操作键)。2个作为示例的屏幕上用户界面控制特性的例子是在地址本用户屏幕228的下面显示的“选择”232和“返回”234操作。为了便于用户发送一个即时消息，用户选择一个创建消息显示屏幕，使用移动单元装置的键盘，例如Tegic通信公司生产的T9激活键盘，输入一个文本消息，之后从地址本用户屏幕上选择一个接受者(即时消息名)。“选择”操作的用户激活允许用户在名字列表中选择一个用户确认(例如，高亮显示)的即时消息名作为输入的即时消息的接受者。“返回”操作的用户激活允许用户查看先前显示的用户界面屏幕。
图11表示作为示例的地址本的第二个用户界面屏幕236。第二个用户界面屏幕236表示由下面的即时消息操作所占据的地址本的位置：更新接受者(即时消息名或伙伴)可获得性；删除一个接受者；结束；登录。当用户用任何必须的预先定义的消息内容选择并发送更新接受者可获得性(“伙伴”)操作给即时消息路由服务器24时，即时消息路由服务器24检查接受者的可获得性(在存贮的即时消息名列表中的即时消息名)并把结果发回给移动单元装置230。图12表示在移动单元装置230的显示器上的执行的接受者更新的结果。在显示区域238中，接受者Emma972和Gomer22被指示为在线(即登录到即时消息系统)。Richard53，tom235和zebra98被指示为离线(即从即时消息系统退出)。
当用户用消息内容中的接受者的即时消息名选择并发送“删除”接受者的操作给即时消息路由服务器24时，即时消息路由服务器24从存贮在数据库22中的用户的即时消息名列表中删除所包括的即时消息名。对“离线”操作的选择命令即时消息路由服务器24终止与用户相关联的即时消息通话。对“在线”操作的选择命令即时消息路由服务器24根据作为消息内容发送到即时消息路由服务器24的屏幕名字和密码信息发起一次即时消息通话，见图13。“登录”操作的消息内容可保存在移动单元装置中并且可再用于随后的在线请求。另外地，即时消息路由服务器24存贮用户的即时消息屏幕名和密码和用户的移动单元装置36的电话号码来辅助自动化登录。
图14表示一个接收的消息如何在移动单元装置230上显示。接收的消息的消息内容显示为接收的消息的发起者的即时消息名。
如本领域的熟练人员所容易理解的，由路由系统22所执行的操作可以与即时消息服务器40或短信服务中心32合并。短信服务中心40可包含在移动载波基础设施中。同时，本发明的组成的操作可分配给经一个或多个被包含的网络中的多个服务器。
尽管已示意和描述了本发明的已有的优选实施例，在不偏离本发明的精神和范围的前提下，还是可以对其作各种改进。
Claims (26)
1、一种使蜂窝通信装置的用户与其他用户使用即时消息进行通信的方法，该方法包括：
在为用户维护的列表中确定一个或多个其他用户的状态，其中，每个其他用户与即时消息名相关联，并且每个其他用户的状态包括所述其他用户通过即时消息传递进行通信的可用性；
在用户的蜂窝通信装置上接收每个其他用户的状态；以及
在所述用户的蜂窝通信装置上的用户界面中显示每个其他用户的状态。
2、如权利要求1的方法，还包括：
使用户从蜂窝通信装置上的其他用户的列表中选择至少一个其他用户；
使用户在蜂窝通信装置上编写发送给至少一个选定其他用户的文本消息作为即时消息；以及
使用户将文本消息传送给至少一个其他用户作为即时消息。
3、如权利要求2的方法，其中，使用户传送文本消息的步骤包括：使用户将文本消息传送给至少一个其他用户作为即时消息，其中多个其他用户中的所述一个使用另一个蜂窝通信装置进行通信。
4、如权利要求2的方法，其中，使用户传送文本消息的步骤包括：使用户将文本消息传送给至少一个其他用户作为即时消息，其中多个其他用户中的所述一个使用个人计算机进行通信。
5、如权利要求1的方法，还包括：从蜂窝通信装置发送登录功能以至少根据预存储的用户简表和相关的消息内容启动即时消息会话，其中即时消息会话的启动包括指示蜂窝通信装置的用户可以使用即时消息传递来进行通信，以及所述消息内容包括与用户和预定密码相关的即时消息名。
6、如权利要求1的方法，还包括：从蜂窝通信装置发送检查状态功能，其中接收状态包括响应于发送检查状态功能来接收一个或多个其他用户的状态。
7、如权利要求1的方法，还包括：从蜂窝通信装置发送退出功能，以终止蜂窝通信装置的用户的即时消息会话，其中即时消息会话的终止包括指示蜂窝通信装置的用户不能通过即时消息传递来进行通信。
8、如权利要求1的方法，还包括：从蜂窝通信装置发送添加功能，以将其他用户添加到为用户维护的列表中，其中发送添加功能包括发送与其他用户相关联的即时消息名。
9、如权利要求1的方法，还包括：从蜂窝通信装置发送删除功能，以从为用户维护的列表中删除其他用户，其中发送删除功能包括发送与其他用户相关联的即时消息名。
10、如权利要求1的方法，还包括：
在用户的蜂窝通信装置上接收由其中一个其他用户产生的消息作为即时消息；以及
在用户的蜂窝通信装置上的用户界面中显示接收的即时消息。
11、如权利要求10的方法，其中接收由其中一个其他用户产生的消息作为即时消息的步骤包括：接收发送所述消息的其他用户的标识。
12、如权利要求1的方法，其中在为用户维护的列表中确定一个或多个其他用户的状态的步骤包括：在即时消息主机上访问所述一个或多个其他用户的状态。
13、如权利要求12的方法，其中在为用户维护的列表中由即时消息主机访问的所述一个或多个其他用户的状态是由另外的非蜂窝装置使用的。
14、一种蜂窝通信装置，被配置和设置为用于使用户与其他用户使用即时消息进行通信，所述通信装置包括：
可用性模块，被配置和设置为用于在为用户维护的列表中确定一个或多个其他用户的状态，其中，每个其他用户与即时消息名相关联，并且每个其他用户的状态包括所述其他用户通过即时消息传递进行通信的可用性；
接收模块，被配置和设置为用于在用户的蜂窝通信装置上接收每个其他用户的状态；以及
显示模块，被配置和设置为用于在所述用户的蜂窝通信装置上的用户界面中显示每个其他用户的状态。
15、如权利要求14的蜂窝通信装置，还包括：
选择模块，被配置和设置为用于使用户从蜂窝通信装置上的其他用户的列表中选择至少一个其他用户；
编写模块，被配置和设置为用于使用户在蜂窝通信装置上编写发送给至少一个选定其他用户的文本消息作为即时消息；以及
通信模块，被配置和设置为用于使用户将文本消息传送给至少一个其他用户作为即时消息。
16、如权利要求14的蜂窝通信装置，其中，所述通信模块被配置和设置为用于使用户将文本消息传送给至少一个其他用户作为即时消息，其中多个其他用户中的所述一个使用另一个蜂窝通信装置进行通信。
17、如权利要求14的蜂窝通信装置，其中，所述通信模块被配置和设置为用于使用户将文本消息传送给至少一个其他用户作为即时消息，其中多个其他用户中的所述一个使用个人计算机进行通信。
18、如权利要求14的蜂窝通信装置，还包括：
登录模块，被配置和设置为用于从蜂窝通信装置发送登录功能以至少根据预存储的用户简表和相关的消息内容启动即时消息会话，其中即时消息会话的启动包括指示蜂窝通信装置的用户可以使用即时消息传递来进行通信，以及所述消息内容包括与用户和预定密码相关的即时消息名。
19、如权利要求14的蜂窝通信装置，还包括：
检查状态模块，被配置和设置为用于从蜂窝通信装置发送检查状态功能，其中接收模块被配置和设置为用于响应于发送检查状态功能来接收一个或多个其他用户的状态。
20、如权利要求14的蜂窝通信装置，还包括：
退出模块，被配置和设置为用于从蜂窝通信装置发送退出功能，以终止蜂窝通信装置的用户的即时消息会话，其中即时消息会话的终止包括指示蜂窝通信装置的用户不能通过即时消息传递来进行通信。
21、如权利要求14的蜂窝通信装置，还包括：
添加用户模块，被配置和设置为用于从蜂窝通信装置发送添加功能，以将其他用户添加到为用户维护的列表中，其中发送添加功能包括发送与其他用户相关联的即时消息名。
22、如权利要求14的蜂窝通信装置，还包括：
删除用户模块，被配置和设置为用于从蜂窝通信装置发送删除功能，以从为用户维护的列表中删除其他用户，其中发送删除功能包括发送与其他用户相关联的即时消息名。
23、如权利要求14的蜂窝通信装置，其中所述接收模块被配置和设置为用于接收由其中一个其他用户产生的消息作为即时消息；以及在用户的蜂窝通信装置上的用户界面中显示接收的即时消息。
24、如权利要求23的蜂窝通信装置，其中被配置和设置为用于接收由其中一个其他用户产生的消息作为即时消息的所述接收模块进一步被配置和设置为用于接收发送所述消息的其他用户的标识。
25、如权利要求14的蜂窝通信装置，其中被配置和设置为用于确定为用户维护的列表中的一个或多个其他用户的状态的所述可用性模块至少被配置和设置为用于在即时消息主机上访问所述一个或多个其他用户的状态。
26、如权利要求25的蜂窝通信装置，其中被配置和设置为用于使即时消息主机访问为用户维护的列表中的一个或多个其他用户的状态的可用性模块至少还使另外的非蜂窝装置访问一个以上的其他用户的状态。
