技术领域
本发明通常涉及移动终端装置。更具体的,本发明涉及一种具有用于无线电调谐能力和因特网网站寻址的书签功能的装置。
背景技术
常规无线电上通常有预设单选按钮,并且其通常用作可编程的快捷方式,连接到所喜爱的无线电台对应的频率。并且也知道移动数据终端装置能够接收FM无线电传输。与常规无线电相同,这些装置典型的包括一些选项,用于存储与所喜爱的无线电台相关的频率,和快速调谐到这些频率。然而不同于常规无线电的是,这些移动装置很多都是连接到数据网络,而网络又通过装置提供到因特网的接入。因为这种装置可以同时接收FM无线电台和浏览因特网,所以希望能够在收听无线电的时候也可以查看与该无线电台相关的网页内容。这种网页的内容会对无线电广播进行补充,提供与该广播相关的进一步内容和信息,或提供诸如本地新闻和天气情况的附加消息。
然而这些移动终端装置典型的并不包括用于并行接入因特网媒体和与无线电台相关的FM广播媒体的装置。为了在收听无线电台广播的时候查看无线电台的网页内容,用户典型的必须调谐到感兴趣的无线电台,并独立地导航因特网,以找到与该无线电台相关的网站。用户可以通过使用网站的预选书签来导航到无线电台网站,并使用无线电台书签调谐到无线电广播;然而用户仍然需要独立的调谐电台和导航网站。将预设单选按钮与网站书签一起使用就需要用户采用不同的步骤,以控制到每一媒体源的访问。这种过程比较费时,并且比所需要的要更复杂。为了解决这种移动终端装置中的这一缺点,已经提出了多种方案。
所提出的一种方案包括使用数字无线电业务。数字无线电由数据无线电广播组成,而不是模拟传输。因为所传输的数据包括与音频信息一起的各种类型信息,接收数字无线电广播的移动终端装置就可以查看与该音频无线电广播相关的内容。因此广播数字无线电的无线电台在音频广播的同时,可以传输信息,诸如交通、天气和广告信息。然而,用户只能够与无线电台进行单向通信,除非移动终端装置连接着因特网。换言之,用户可以查看无线电台所发送的信息,并且甚至可以对该信息进行导航,但是用户不能够以双向通信的方式请求不同的信息或与无线电台交互。
发明内容
本发明提供一种系统和方法,用于调谐移动终端装置,以在接收媒体广播(例如无线电或电视广播)的同时对因特网进行导航,以与和该媒体台站相关的网站进行交互。这种装置上的书签可以具有组合功能,使得选择无线电书签就导致该装置调谐到与该书签相关联的无线电台,并且基本上在同时,连接到与该无线电台相关联的网站。相应的,该装置的可用性大大的提高了。
在一个实施例中,本发明包括一种与数据网络通信的、可以接收无线电广播的移动终端装置。该装置通常包括显示屏、存储介质、键盘、处理器、无线电调谐器、天线和通信硬件。该处理器用于执行对应于存储在存储介质中的指令的步骤。在本发明的一个方面中,该装置用于接收模拟FM无线电媒体,并且在本发明的另一方面中,该装置用于接收数字无线电广播。
无线电书签存储在存储器介质中,并可以被用户编程和选择。该书签通常包括指向各种资源的句柄或标识符,诸如文件、因特网协议(IP)地址、统一资源定位器(URL)等。该书签也可以包括进一步定义该书签的参数。无线电书签通常具有的组合功能,因为选择书签会导致选择与该书签相关联的网络地址以及无线电台的无线电频率。相应的,用户简单的选择无线电书签,以便收听到相关联的无线电台广播并可以查看与该广播相关的因特网连接。因此用户不需要搜索无线电台及其网站。
在本发明其他的实施例中,用于实现所公开方法的计算机可执行指令存储在计算机可读介质上。另外,其他实施例可以包括不同广播的接收,诸如电视、卫星和其他广播。参照下面的详细描述和附图,本发明的其他特征和优势就比较明显了。

具体实施方式
本发明可以以各种方式实施。如图1和2中所示,根据本发明的一个实施例包括移动数据终端装置(DTE)10,其与数据通信网络12和广播网络14通信。广播网络可以包括从发射器16发射的与无线电台(radio station)(未示出)相关的无线电波,或可以包括电视、卫星或其他类型的数字或模拟广播。数据通信网络12可以与广播电台服务器(broadcast radio server)18通信,其也与无线电台(未示出)相关联。DTE10通常包括显示屏20、存储器24、键盘24、处理器26、无线电调谐器28、天线30和通信硬件32。如本领域所熟知的,处理器26执行对应于存储在存储器22中的指令的步骤,并且通常与DTE10的其他组件交互。显示屏20显示图像,键盘24用于接收来自操作者的输入。
如本领域所熟知的,天线30可以接收无线电广播网络14中由发射器16发射的无线电波。无线电调谐器28连接到天线30,并用于调谐、解调和放大由天线30接收所选频率的无线电波,诸如从发射器16发射的无线电波。通信硬件32用于接收和调制或解调无线通信信号,诸如从DTE10发送和接收到的微波,如本领域所熟知的。于是根据一个实施例的装置10包括移动终端装置,其能够在接收无线电台广播的同时与数据网络通信。然而本发明的装置并不限于任何特定实施例的装置,只要该装置同时具有数据连接能力和广播接收能力。
进一步,本发明的装置并不限于任何能够进行数据连接或广播接收的特定实施例。例如,DTE10可以使用用于数据连接的电路交换连接,诸如使用TDMA(时分多址)、CDMA(码分多址)、GSM(全球移动通信系统)的第二带无线系统,或其他这种接入系统。在其他示例中,DTE10可以使用基于分组的接入系统,诸如GSM网络上的GPRS(通用分组无线业务),或者使用短距离连接系统,诸如WLAN(无线局域网)和Bluetooth。关于广播调谐,DTE10可以接收,例如模拟无线电传输、数字无线电传输、卫星无线电传输、模拟电视传输、数字电视传输或其他这种广播。

例如,假设无线电发射器16从某一无线电台(未示出),例如从具有调用符号(call sign)WZZZ的无线电台发射FM无线电波,并且无线电台服务器18由无线电台WZZZ操作。也假设无线电台WZZZ在广播电台服务器18上设有对其FM无线电广播提供补充信息的网站。也假设该无线电台是该用户所喜爱的无线电台,并且该用户已经对书签一36进行编程,使其包括该无线电台的频率信息和无线电服务器18的网络地址。这样,为了收听无线电广播和查看该无线电台的网页内容,用户只需要选择书签一36。用户可以使用键盘24选择书签一36在显示器20上的表示,以选择书签一36,如图形用户界面领域所熟知的。可替换的,用户可以选择键盘24上与书签一36相关的键,或使用其他这种方法来选择书签。
现在参照图3,当用户选择书签一36,处理器遵循存储在存储器22中的指令并执行相关的步骤。相应的,处理器26检测40用户对书签一36的选择。书签一36指向存储在存储器22中的无线电播放器应用程序38和浏览器应用程序40,诸如无线标记语言(WML)应用程序。书签一36也包括参数42,其包括无线电台WZZZ的频率信息和网站地址信息。参数通常包括信息或数据,其进一步定义一个或多个书签,或根据相关书签的选择影响DTE10的性能。参数可以包括频率信息和网络地址信息,以及其他类型的信息,下面对其中一些信息示例进行讨论。
选择书签一36就会调用无线电播放器应用程序38和浏览器应用程序40,并将参数42中的信息分别提供给应用程序38和40。根据该无线电播放器应用程序,处理器26将无线电调谐器28调谐52到书签一36的频率参数42,用于接收相关的无线电台广播。根据该浏览器应用程序40,调谐器发送54请求到广播电台服务器18的网络地址,请求该无线电台网站的数据。如果通信信道还没有打开,发送54请求步骤可以包括打开使用通信硬件32的通信信道。如果与通信网络12的通信是通过类似于GSM的电路交换连接,那么该连接在业务时间是打开的,而在业务结束就关闭。于是,在发送54任何请求之前需要打开通信信道。这也可以应用于分组交换连接,诸如GPRS,如果还没有建立连接。
作为对发送54请求的响应,广播电台服务器18将数据返回给装置10,并且处理器26接收56该数据。在这一点,可以建立与广播电台服务器18的会话,其由浏览器应用程序40和服务器18管理。根据一个实施例,当接收到数据的时候,处理器显示该无线电台(未示出)的网页,其包括用户所选择的链接。根据另一实施例,经常收到更新数据以更新该网页。通过这种方式,不管用户的输入,显示在DTE10上的信息基本上与无线电广播同步,以反映广播的当前内容,诸如所播放歌曲的名称,或提供输入机会,诸如电台正在播放的知识测验或竞赛。当处理器检测到用户选择58了显示器20中所示的链接,处理器26指导该装置10请求60来自用于该链接的广播电台服务器18的数据。相应的,通过简单的选择书签一36,用户可以收听该无线电台广播、浏览该无线电台网站,并从而接收对该无线电广播的补充信息。
在本发明的另一实施例中,频率和IP地址参数信息可以不存储在该装置上,而可以远程的存储在诸如与网络12通信的服务器上。这具有许多好处,诸如允许用户根据其他的编程参数为不同的无线电台编程无线电书签。例如用户可能希望用书签一36表示该用户所在位置的最强古典音乐无线电台。这对于经常旅行的用户是特别有利的。用户所在的位置是附加参数的一个示例,其可以用于增加使用无线电书签的灵活性。用户的位置,例如可以使用全球定位系统(GPS)技术来自动确定。
在另一示例中,参数可以是与DTE10相关的唯一装置id,从而特定书签的无线电频率和IP地址与该装置id相关联。参数的另一示例是唯一用户id,其中根据唯一用户id,例如用户名和密码,来调整(adapt)装置上的无线电书签。如需更进一步的灵活性,可使用多个参数。在进一步的示例中,特定装置10上的书签34可表示该装置的不同用户的不同无线电台。这样,用户可能需要输入唯一用户id,其可以作为用户名和密码手动输入,或通过向该装置中插入身份模块进行输入,或其他类似的方式。相应的,该参数可以是唯一用户id,并且该书签可以根据各个用户的编程表示无线电台或无线电台首选项。
在进一步的示例中,参数可以包括用户建立的首选项,从而使得书签根据日期时间、位置或其他因素表示不同的电台。例如,用户可以使得书签一36在上班高峰时间涉及交通旅行信息、在白天为摇滚音乐、在晚上为古典音乐。在另一示例,可以根据用户向创建书签的书签网站提供的用户统计信息建立用户简档。该书签网站可以将该书签转发给DTE10,让用户选择接收。在不同的示例中,书签可以代表特定的电台,并且根据用户的位置参数,该电台可以应用不同的广播频率。在具有无线电台链的示例中,该书签可以表示该链,并且根据用户位置参数,可以采用该链中适合的电台频率。
可以根据存储在DTE10中的软件、使用键盘24,或通过与其他计算机的接口,诸如通用串行总线(USB)连接或网络通信,或已知的其他对移动数据终端进行编程的方法,对书签34和它们的参数进行编程。在另一示例中,可以远程编辑书签34及其参数,并通过空中接口(air)(OTA)将它们发送到DTE10。在这种示例中,用户的朋友可以将书签发送给该用户,作为推荐的广播电台。这可以通过使用短消息业务(SMS)来完成,诸如Nokia Smart Messaging。在另一示例中,用户可以使用SMS消息或通过基于web的业务向广播电台请求书签。进一步,广播电台服务器可以根据用户简档发送整个书签组。在进一步的示例中,用户可以使用基于web的业务来为DTE10配置它们的书签,并然后通过OTA通信更新DTE10。通常,当DTE10接收到被识别为书签的消息时,它可以自动的、或经过用户确认之后将该书签存储在存储器中。
为了提供进一步的灵活性和进一步的描述书签参数的使用,如图4中所示,本发明的另一实施例包括移动数据终端(DTE)110、电台id服务器113、广播电台服务器118和发射器116。DTE110可以与通信网络112和广播网络114通信。电台id服务器113和广播电台服务器118通常与通信网络112通信。发射器116发射广播网络114中的无线电波。电台id服务器113通常包括根据所选择的书签和发送到电台id服务器的其他参数鉴别广播电台的服务器。电台id服务器113通常包括存储媒体115,和用于处理包含在存储媒体中的指令的处理器117。为了说明的目的,假定用户与家庭成员共用DTE10,并因此已经手动输入了标识该用户的唯一用户id及其书签选项。进一步假定该装置110的结构通常如图5中所示,除了这里所讨论的区别和方面之外,其与前一实施例中的DTE10相同。
相应的,DTE10包括书签一36和书签二37,其存储在存储器122中并图形显示在显示器120上。每一书签136、137指向一无线电播放器/网站查看器应用程序139和用户id 141的参数。根据一个实施例的播放器/查看器应用程序139是运行Flash或SMIL(SynchronizedMultimedia Integration Language)插件的浏览器应用程序。该应用程序139可以包括在终端的初始软件组中,或者其可以被下载或以其他方式安装到DTE10上。当选择书签136时,其调用应用程序139并将其指向存储在存储器122中的唯一用户id 141。应用程序139根据所选择的书签和用户id 141,命令处理器126准备DTE,以接收广播并连接到所选书签和用户id参数的网站。于是,对于相同装置的不同用户,书签可以唯一的配置。

Claims (43)

1.一种用于与数据网络通信,并用于接收广播媒体的设备,该设备包括:
存储介质;和
与存储介质耦接的处理器,其执行的步骤包括:
(a)检测来自命令输入装置的输入,用于选择存储在存储介质中的书签;
(b)将接收器调谐到与书签相关联的广播频率,用于接收来自广播媒体电台的广播媒体;和
(c)通过数据网络,向广播电台服务器发送对与该广播媒体电台相关的信息的请求。
2.权利要求1的设备,其中该处理器进一步执行下列步骤:
(d)从广播电台服务器接收信息;和
(e)在该设备的显示器上显示步骤(d)中接收到的信息。

33.权利要求31的计算机可读介质,进一步包括将步骤(a)的请求重新定向给与该广播电台相关联的广播电台服务器的步骤。
34.权利要求31的计算机可读介质,其中该书签包括至少一个参数。
35.权利要求31的计算机可读介质,其中所述至少一个参数选自包括下列内容的组:广播媒体电台的广播频率、无线电台调用符号、电视台调用符号、唯一用户id、唯一设备id、用户位置信息和广播分类信息。
36.一种用于从广播媒体电台接收广播媒体并与广播电台服务器通信的方法,该方法包括:
(a)检测来自终端装置的命令输入装置的输入,用于选择存储在该终端装置的存储介质中的书签;
(b)将终端装置的广播媒体接收器调谐到与该书签相关联的频率,用于接收来自广播媒体电台的广播媒体;和
(c)向广播电台服务器发送对与该广播媒体电台相关的信息的请求。
37.权利要求36的方法,进一步包括:
(f)向电台id服务器发送频率请求;和
(g)接收表示该频率的数据。
38.权利要求37的方法,其中从该电台id服务器接收表示该频率的数据。
39.权利要求37的设备,其中从该广播电台服务器接收表示该频率的数据。
40.一种用于通过通信网络与数据终端装置通信,以向该终端装置提供书签信息的方法,该方法包括:
(a)响应于在数据终端装置上的书签选择,通过通信网络接收来自该数据终端装置的对广播频率和广播电台服务器的网络地址的请求;和
(b)根据该书签确定广播媒体电台。
41.权利要求40的方法,进一步包括步骤:
(c)通过通信网络向该数据终端装置发送表示该广播频率的数据;和
(d)通过通信网络向该数据终端装置发送表示该网络地址的数据。
42.权利要求40的方法,进一步包括将步骤(a)的请求重新定向给与该广播电台相关联的广播电台服务器的步骤。
43.一种移动终端装置,包括:
存储介质;
存储在该存储介质中的与无线电台相关联的无线电书签,该无线电书签指向接收该无线电台的无线电广播的频率,并指向该无线电台的无线电台服务器的网络地址;
命令输入装置;
显示器;
无线电接收器;
天线;以及
与该存储介质耦接的处理器,其执行的步骤包括:
(a)检测来自命令输入装置的输入,用于选择该无线电书签;
(b)将无线电接收器调谐到该无线电台的频率;和
(c)通过数据网络,向无线电台服务器发送对与该无线电台相关的信息的请求;
(d)从该无线电台服务器接收信息;和
(e)在该显示器上显示步骤(d)中接收到的信息。
