Description

捆扎工具焊接马达的控制系统
技术领域
本发明涉及一种焊接马达控制系统。更具体而言,本发明涉及一种用于捆扎工具或捆扎机械的焊接马达控制系统,其不管焊接马达电压的波动如何都会提供一致的焊接或接合强度。
背景技术
捆扎工具或机械在现有技术中是公知的。这种机械通常被用于围绕货物固紧捆扎带。一种类型的捆扎机使用塑料或聚合物捆扎带,这种捆扎机被固定安装并作为整个制造或包装系统的一部分。
一捆扎或焊接头被设置为捆扎机械的一部分,且提供多种功能。首先,所述捆扎头包括一夹持器,该夹持器具有一个或多个夹持部,用于在捆扎操作期间夹持捆扎带。所述捆扎头还包括一切断器,用于将捆扎带从捆扎带源或捆扎带供给部上切下来。最后,所述捆扎头包括一封接机,用于将捆扎材料的重叠层封接在其自身上。这种封接通常是指焊接,并通过使用一振动元件加热捆扎带的重叠层来实现。

然而,已发现,除了供电的10伏波动之外,焊接马达的电压可能在焊接周期期间减小差不多3%到4%。此外,这种电压减小与接合强度的降低有关,这是因为,马达速度随着电压的减小而降低。曾采用增加焊接时间来克服接合强度的降低。然而,已发现,当在电压不下降的周期内增加焊接时间时,在某些情况下,捆扎带的完整性可能会受到损害。
因此,需要一种用在捆扎机械中的焊接或捆扎头的简化的焊接马达控制系统。所希望的是,这种控制系统可消除对作为焊接周期控制因素的时间的依赖性。更理想的是,这种控制系统用于提供一致的焊接带焊接,不管焊接马达的电压波动如何。最理想的是,这种控制系统易适用于现有的捆扎机械捆扎头系统。
发明内容

在本实施例中,所述被感测元件为存在于马达的轴上的一标记或者说符号,且所述传感器为位于所述符号附近的近程传感器。一计数器在传感器每次感测到被感测元件出现时就从该传感器接收脉冲或者说信号。一控制器从计数器接收一信号,以根据感测标记出现的预定次数来控制马达。
所产生的信号可以使马达的旋转停止,或使马达开始旋转。本控制系统包括一设置在所述控制器和马达之间的电源继电器。所述控制器信号由该电源继电器接收,以产生一信号来控制马达。本发明还公开了一种用于控制马达的方法。

参照附图,特别是图1,图1示出了一种传统的捆扎机械焊接头10,它是在Gerhart等人的美国专利US6532722中所公开的焊接头示例,该专利与本申请共同转让并在此引为参考。焊接头10包括一焊接马达12,该马达由体现本发明原理的控制系统14控制。

为了实现振动元件22的振荡,马达12包括一偏心轮驱动元件26(安装在一非偏心轴34上),例如延伸穿过振动元件联接端24中一接收孔(未示出)的示范性偏心轴部。一轴承28被安装到所述轴偏心轮26上。所述偏心轮26被构造成旋转轴线偏离轴34的轴线。
参照图2,马达12由控制系统14控制,该系统对马达12的旋转进行监测或计数,而不是对焊接周期进行定时。这样,即使焊接马达12的电压发生变化(即,在启动时的下降和由于电源电压的波动),马达12的总转数(从而振动元件22的振动或者说冲击数)保持恒定。
在本实施例中,控制系统14包括一传感器30(例如近程传感器)以及一位于马达轴34上的靶部32或类似被感测元件。传感器30被可操作地连接到一计数器36(例如示出的计数器显示器)上,该计数器又被可操作地连接到可编程的逻辑控制器(PLC)38或类似的可编程元件上。PLC38被可操作地连接到一电源继电器40上,该继电器通过一供电线41为焊接马达12供电或断电。
在一优选实施例中,计数器36是可编程的,从而可以改变预设值(例如,预设的转数),且所述计数器36发送一控制信号(由42表示)给PLC38,该信号在达到预设转数值(即计数)时被触发。PLC38发送一控制开/关信号(由44表示)给电源继电器40。
可以预料到,只要PLC38的输入快到足以对近程传感器的脉冲精确计数,所述计数器36就可以被省去(传感器30直接发送一控制信号给PLC38)。本领域普通技术人员知道多种可实现对转数进行“计数”的装置,这些其它装置均在本发明的范围和精神之中。
为了确定用以下方式进行焊接时的焊接强度,进行了几个试验,所述方式中包括:(1)定时电路;(2)具有动态制动控制的定时电路;(3)马达旋转计数;(4)具有动态制动的马达旋转计数。上述试验中的每一个均在焊接马达电压变化的情况下进行。在那些没有动态制动的情况下进行的测试中,允许马达惯性滑行到止动。在那些具有动态制动情况下进行的测试中,应用适当的电路使马达止动。所有的捆扎带样品均为3/4英寸宽,0.060英寸厚的聚酯捆扎带。
在下文所示的数据中,捆扎带焊接时间在0.45秒到0.65秒之间变化(处于变化的电压下),结果在表1中示出;有动态制动时,焊接时间保持恒定(处于变化的电压下),结果在表2中示出;在没有动态制动的情况下,由马达转数(处于变化的电压下)对捆扎带焊接时间进行测量,结果在表3中示出;在有动态制动的情况下,由马达转数(处于变化的电压下)进行测量,结果在表4中示出。

参考表1的数据,可以看出,当控制焊接时间时,很明显,焊接强度受焊接马达电压的影响。在焊接时间为0.45秒时,平均接合强度在100.5VAC电压下的2004.60磅和121.5VAC电压下的2323.5磅之间变化。从121.5VAC到124.6VAC,所述平均强度实际降低(约9.6磅)。然而,数据的趋势清楚地显示出随着电压的降低,接合强度也降低。还可以看出,通过增加焊接时间,可以增加平均和最小接合强度(在低电压马达运转的情况下)。此外,数据还显示出,降低的强度和每次焊接的总平均计数或马达转数的减小之间的相互关系。然而,还应当注意到,在增加焊接时间的情况下(即,0.65秒),一些捆扎带样品显示出相当大的熔塑量,这就难于将捆扎带样品拉出焊接头。
表2中的数据显示出,较强的控制可以通过使用动态制动而获得。然而,在电压降低的情况下,平均和最小强度仍然继续下降。
表3中的数据显示出,当用马达的转数控制焊接周期时,平均和最小接合强度可以被更好地控制。然而,当电压增高时,强度也增加,但较前者的数据小。相信这是由于在较高的电压下惯性滑行时间增加的缘故。
表4显示出,用马达转数与动态制动一起进行控制时,接合强度可以得到非常好的控制,并保持在高于预先建立的阈值的水平上。从图4中可以看出,当马达转数被设定为190时,即使电压在100.3VAC和119.3VAC之间变化(电压几乎变化20%),平均接合强度的变化也小于1.5%(33.4磅)。这样,数据清楚地显示出,不管马达电压的波动如何(当然是合理的波动),通过基于马达转数监测并设定焊接周期,并通过应用动态制动(即,使马达停止,而不是准许其惯性滑行),焊接的接合强度可以被可靠地控制在较高的水平,并保证高水平的接合完整性。

7.如权利要求4所述的控制系统,其包括一电路,用于在失去所述控制马达的信号时,使马达停止。
8.一种用于捆扎机械的焊接马达控制系统,所述捆扎机械是这样一种类型的,即,具有一机体,一安装到所述机体上的压砧,该压砧可相对于所述机体移动,一封接元件,其被设置用于相对于所述压砧振动,以及一可操作地连接到所述封接元件的马达,用于为所述封接元件提供振动,从而将捆扎材料的重叠层互相封接在一起,所述控制系统包括:
一位于所述马达的旋转部分上的被感测元件;
一传感器,该传感器在每一次感测到所述被感测元件时都产生一信号;
一可操作地连接到所述传感器上的计数器,用于对感测到所述被感测元件的情况进行计数;
一可操作地连接到所述计数器上的控制器,用于根据对感测到所述被感测元件的情况进行的计数,对马达进行控制。
9.如权利要求8所述的控制系统,其中,所述控制器根据从计数器接受到的信号产生一用于控制马达的信号,该信号相应于感测到被感测元件的预定次数。
10.一种用于对捆扎机械的焊接马达进行控制的方法,所述捆扎机械是这样一种类型的,即,具有一机体,一安装到所述机体上的压砧,该压砧可相对于所述机体移动,一封接元件,其被设置用于相对于所述压砧振动,以及一可操作地连接到所述封接元件的马达,用于为所述封接元件提供振动,从而将捆扎材料的重叠层互相封接在一起,所述控制方法包括以下步骤:
感测马达轴的旋转;
对马达的转数进行计数;
根据所记的转数产生一用于控制马达的信号。
11.如权利要求10所述的方法,包括在接受到预定转数的情况下使马达停止的步骤。
