Abstract

本发明涉及无碱平板玻璃技术领域,属硅铝硼系统,可用作薄膜晶体管寻址的液晶显示器的玻璃基板。本发明的玻璃具有应变点温度和软化点温度高,热膨胀系数小的特点,其可见光透过率高于88%,是用于薄膜晶体管液晶显示器的理想材料。

Description

用于薄膜晶体液晶显示器(TFT-LCD)的超薄无碱玻璃基板
本发明涉及无碱平板玻璃技术领域,属硅铝硼系统,可用作薄膜晶体管(TFT:Thin FilmTransistor)寻址的液晶显示器(Liguid Crystal Display,简称LCD)的玻璃基板。
液晶显示器所用的玻璃基板可分为有碱玻璃和无碱玻璃两大类,有碱玻璃包括有钠钙硅系统和硼硅酸盐系统,主要使用在扭曲向列相液晶显示器(TN LCD:Twisted Nematic)和超扭曲向列相液晶显示器(STN LCD:Super Twisted Nematic),而无碱玻璃由铝硅硼系统组成,用于TFT-LCD。如果玻璃含有碱金属离子,碱金属离子在TFT-LCD制作过程中会从玻璃基板中扩散出来造成污染,破坏TFT和液晶材料的性能。所以一般的钙钠硅玻璃不能用于TFT-LCD。
一般平板玻璃的化学组成为(重量百分比):
SiO2                               70-73%
Na2O                               10-13%
CaO                                  6-9%
MgO                                  2-4%
Al2O3                             0.5-2%
其它                                 1%
本发明的各成分的化学组成为(重量百分比):
SiO2                               49%~60%
Al2O3                             6~11%
B2O3                              10~15%
CaO+MgO+其它RO                       20~25%
其它                                 1%
显然,本发明的化学组成为增加了硼、铝的成分,降低了硅的含量。同时,硅砂中要严格控制铁的含量,一般为0.015%以下。(重量百分比)
本发明玻璃基板的技术特点为:
应变点温度                             ≥600℃
软化点                                 ≥800℃
比重                                   ≤2.8g/cm3
热膨胀系数                             ≤50×10-7/℃
可见光透过率                           ≥88%
折射率                                 ≤1.55
各组成成分的百分比按以下方式调整:[SiO2]
SiO2是玻璃骨架中起主要作用的成分。当SiO2%超过60%时,由于不含Na2O,玻璃熔制困难。[Al2O3]
Al2O3是一种能够提高玻璃应变点温度的有效成分,但过多会造成玻璃析晶。控制在11%以下。[B2O3]
B2O3也是构成玻璃骨架的成分,能改善玻璃的光学性能。但B2O3过高时,在成形温度时,增加玻璃的粘度。[CaO+MgO+其它RO]
玻璃中的主要成分,增加玻璃的机械强度。且确保玻璃液在采用下拉法成型工艺时有足够高的粘度。所以[CaO+MgO+其它RO]的含量不能低于20%。
由于采用该组成的玻璃基板具有上述技术特点,所以适宜用于TFT-LCD。

Claims (2)

1、一种用于TFT-LCD的无碱玻璃基板,其组成以重量百分比表示为:
SiO2                                  49%~60%
Al2O3                                6~11%
B2O3                                 10~15%
CaO+MgO+其它RO                          20~25%
其它                                    1%
而且这种玻璃的应变点温度≥600℃,软化点≥800℃,比重≤2.8g/cm3,热膨胀系数≤50×10-7/℃,可见光透过率88%,折射率≤1.55%。
2、如权利1所述,该平板玻璃是一种无碱玻璃。
