实施例详述
建议的方法、系统和程序为电视观众提供在子节目级(以下称为“分段层级”)上选择内容的能力。

一旦根据选定的目录搜索和/或过滤了内容,程序询问用户是否希望在目录结果内搜索分段。这发生在步骤505。如果用户不希望在选定的目录内搜索分段,程序就询问是否选定了代表内容部分的图标。这发生在步骤506。如果没有选定,程序在步骤507等待选择图标。当用户选择了图标时,该图标代表的内容部分就在步骤508被分割。
如果用户希望在选定目录内搜索分段,程序引导微处理器45在步骤509分割在该目录内的全部内容部分。在步骤510,程序询问用户是否选定了分段目录。如果没有,程序引导微处理器45在步骤511生成一个分段目录菜单。一旦生成,程序引导微处理器45在步骤512和513分别请求和接受输入。如果用户在步骤510选定了分段目录,或者在步骤513接受输入后,程序引导微处理器45在步骤514根据选定的分段目录搜索和/或过滤分段。一旦图标代表的内容部分在步骤508被分割,或程序引导微处理器45在步骤514根据选定的分段目录搜索和/或过滤分段,程序就会引导显示屏401在步骤515把分段显示为分段代表内容。
前面的说明和实例是示范性的,而不是要限定下面的权利要求的范围。

Claims (19)

1.一种在分段层级上显示内容的方法,包括:
将内容分割为至少两段;
显示所述至少两段中至少一段的代表内容;以及
指示所述至少两段中的至少一段如何与内容关联。
2.权利要求1的方法,其中分割步骤还包括根据下列步骤之一进行分割:在采样帧内的象素色彩分析、对话分析、目标识别技术、文字内容说明、隐蔽字幕、语言到文本、MPEG7、以及音频分析。
3.权利要求1的方法,其中指示步骤还包括用符号指示每一段的长度。
4.权利要求1的方法,其中指示步骤还包括指示所述至少两段中的至少一段的长度相对于包含该段的内容的长度。
5.权利要求1的方法,其中指示步骤还包括指示所述至少两段中的至少一段在所述内容中的时间位置。
6.权利要求1的方法,其中所述代表内容包括至少一个图像或文本部分。
7.权利要求6的方法,其中用户可以利用所述代表内容来搜索内容。
8.权利要求1的方法,其中用户可以选择所述至少两段中至少一段的代表内容来显示该分段。
9.权利要求1的方法,其中所述方法还包括将所述至少两段中至少一段的代表内容所表明的分段存储在存储介质上。
10.权利要求9的方法,其中用户可以存储和显示一个以上的分段。
11.一种用来在分段层级上显示内容的系统,包括:
至少一个内容源;
用来将内容分割为至少两段的装置;和
用来显示所述至少两段中至少一段的显示装置。
12.权利要求11的系统,其中所述显示装置包括电视机或监视器。
13.权利要求11的系统,其中所述内容还包括至少一个电视节目源或线性媒体源。
14.权利要求11的系统,其中所述至少一个电视节目或流式媒体源是卫星源、陆基源或广播源。
15.权利要求11的系统,其中分割内容的装置工作在内容前端、在用户位置上,或者工作在内容前端和用户位置两者上。
16.权利要求11的系统,其中分割内容的装置根据用户的个人观看习惯自动分割分段内容。
17.权利要求11的系统,还包括存储介质。
18.权利要求11的系统,其中所述显示装置显示所述至少两段中的至少一段。
19.一种存储在处理器可读介质上用来在分段层级上显示内容的程序,包括:
将内容分割为至少两段的部分;
显示所述至少两段中至少一段的部分;和
指示所述至少两段中的至少一段如何与内容关联的部分。
