技术领域
本发明涉及一种密封滚筒,具体地,涉及用于生产妇女卫生棉条的设备以及生产卫生棉条的方法。
技术背景
Friese在美国专利No.4,816,100中揭示了一种生产妇女卫生棉条的设备和方法。该方法包括切一片一种液体可渗透的和至少部分为热塑性的材料并将其热密封到一种吸咐性无纺纤维材料或绒毛卷上。吸收体的各个区段系从绒毛卷上切下来的,并且卷绕起来上以形成具有拉绳的棉条白坯。然后可渗透液体的覆盖材料设置在棉条白坯的圆周上并基本上完全将其包围。最后,将棉条白坯径向压制成为卫生棉条的最终形状。Friese还采用密封滚筒把覆盖材料热密封在绒毛卷或绒毛卷区段上。Friese的密封滚筒包括沿着密封滚筒圆周隔开的可加热密封元件。在这些密封元件之间设有隔离元件。如此,密封滚筒的密封元件和隔离元件沿旋转方向交错地围绕在密封滚筒的表面上。
Wilkes等在美国专利No.5,634,914中披露利用多枝再生的纤维素纤维,对此专利权所有人权利要求书声称可提供高吸收率和棉花状手感。这些棉条被描写成具有良好的稳定性和吸收性。具有这类纤维的纵向膨胀膨胀棉条被描写为具有比传统纵向膨胀膨胀棉条低的膨胀膨胀性。
最后,Nguyen等在WO 97/23185中披露一种棉条,可以在插入使用者体内后在高湿度下膨胀膨胀,以防止发生旁侧泄漏。该棉条是封装在可渗透液体的覆盖层内的大致圆柱形的压缩纤维体。该棉条至少有15N(牛顿)的稳定性,和能够在潮湿的环境中时径向膨胀。在90%的相对湿度和40℃时经过15分钟后半径至少增加10%。如Wilkes等专利中的多枝纤维在该棉条中特别有用。这些纤维较硬而以使棉条膨胀尽快膨胀。
遗憾的是,加工这些纤维造成困难,特别是在具有较硬的纤维时,例如Wilkes的多枝纤维,在制造中会发生意外的或不希望的延迟。可能是由于湿度,如Nguyen等所描述的,这些延迟使原来已经砑光的或压缩的纤维卷散开或膨胀膨胀。该扩张膨胀可引起堵塞或其它不希望的生产过程中断。
因此,需要一种可生产高质量棉条的设备和工艺,对于用其他方法很难在低成本下使纤维保持在压缩状态下的纤维,可保证纤维性绒毛卷可充分砑光。
发明概要
一种把覆盖材料粘贴在绒毛卷上的设备,包括一个基本上圆柱形可旋转的密封滚筒,具有圆周表面和一旋转方向,并具有一个设置在密封滚筒附近,以在其间提供辊隙的可转动基准滚筒。在辊隙中覆盖材料和绒毛卷相继地被粘合和砑光。密封滚筒包括一密封元件和一熨烫元件,这两种元件都包括热传导材料和具有沿旋转方向的前端和后端。密封滚筒至少有一对沿旋转方向相继地放置在密封滚筒的圆周表面上的密封及熨烫元件,并且熨烫元件的至少一端是与邻接密封元件的邻近端隔热。
一种生产棉条的工艺过程,包括下列步骤:a)把包含有热塑性材料的覆盖片材施加在纤维卷上;b)使纤维卷和覆盖片材通过密封滚筒和基准滚筒之间的辊隙;c)对覆盖片材和纤维卷组合的第一部分加热到第一温度范围,足够使覆盖片材粘贴在吸收卷上;以及d)对覆盖片材和纤维卷组合的第二部分加热到第二温度范围,而不使覆盖片材粘贴在吸收卷上但足以砑光纤维卷。所述密封滚筒对覆盖片材和纤维卷组合提供第一和第二温度范围的热量。
本发明的目的是提供一种生产高质量卫生棉条的设备和方法,对于用其它方法很难在低成本的设备下使纤维保持在压缩状态下的纤维,可保证纤维绒毛卷被充分砑光,而生产高质量棉条。该目的是用包括本发明的密封滚筒和工艺过程的设备实现的。

较佳实施例的详细描述
为了使形成的绒毛卷具有需要的绒毛厚度和绒毛密度,绒毛卷通常要予以砑光,即对其施加压力和温度。按照所采用的纤维种类,绒毛卷没有被标准的砑光过程所处理而只是产生一种“次砑光”状态成为一个问题。为了达到绒毛网的要求的绒毛厚度和密度,有些纤维,特别是由于其高吸收能力而受欢迎的纤维,需要多次砑光步骤,这在生产过程中是复杂的而成本昂贵的。
按照本发明,具有设置在其圆周上的至少一个砑光元件的密封滚筒包括至少一个可加热的熨烫元件,该元件由热传导材料制成,并且至少其一端与邻接密封元件的至少一端隔热。“隔热”在此意味着基本上没有或者与有关热能或能量差相比,在元件之间没有显著的热传递,使元件之间至少很大程度上互相隔热。
如此,可以达到,藉助于密封滚筒可以在其整个长度对绒毛卷施加压力和温度。在密封滚筒的原有目的之外,即把覆盖材料密封在绒毛卷上之外,绒毛卷被熨烫和砑光而在已经复杂的和费钱的过程或加工机器之外,另外相应的不需其他过程步骤或附加的设备。通过各自反复熨烫或砑光,甚至很难砑光的纤维也可以可靠地和耐久地形成需要的形状。
绒毛卷可以包括任何能够吸收与/或保持液体(例如月经)的吸收材料。吸收结构可以用多种吸收材料制成各种不同的尺寸和形状。一个具有代表性的、但不是限制性的有用材料列表包括纤维素材料,如人造纤维、棉花、木纸浆、起皱的纤维素块状物、棉纸卷和重叠物泥煤苔和化学硬化、改性的或交叉链接的纤维素纤维;聚合材料,如聚酯纤维、聚烯烃纤维、吸收性泡沫塑料、吸收性海绵、超吸收性聚合物、吸收性凝胶材料;成型纤维,例如毛细管沟槽纤维和多枝纤维;复合材料,例如合成纤维和包括共同形成的纤维结构(例如Anderson等在美国专利No.4,100,324中所描述的材料)的纸浆;或任何等同的材料或材料的组合,或这些材料的混合物。不过,本发明对于加工包含多枝纤维(如Wilkes在美国专利No.5,634,914中所披露的,其内容已在此参考引用)的绒毛卷特别有用。
普通技术人员可以了解用于本发明的有用的覆盖材料。已知的覆盖材料包括纺织、针织和无纺织物;二维和三维的多孔薄膜;聚合物网;及类似物。较佳地,覆盖材料为无纺织物或三维多孔薄膜。这类无纺织物材料在Friese的美国专利No.4,816,100中披露,其内容已在此参考引用。此外本发明的多孔薄膜覆盖物可以用本技术领域中普通技术人员所已知的标准工艺制造。例如用来穿孔的基底薄膜可以用挤出、浇铸或吹气法制造。基底薄膜可以是单独配方的聚合材料或混合物,或者可以是夹层的或多层材料,例如和将一并转让的、Johnson等的美国申请号No.09/345,090,和Gell等的美国序申请No.09/345,089的待批专利,披露内容已在此参考引用。本技术领域的普通技术人员易于了解形成这些薄膜的有用的工艺。然后基底薄膜可以用任何有用的工艺过程方法穿孔,如热空气穿孔和水射流穿孔。这些工艺的例子已披露在Curro的美国专利No.4,695,422;Turi的美国专利No.5,567,376;和Mullane的美国专利No.4,741,877;各以上专利的披露内容已在此参考引用。制成如多孔薄膜可以加涂层,例如在共同转让、待批的申请美国申请号No.09/345,088,申请于1999年6月30日,名称为“具有覆盖物和非离子表面活性剂的棉条”(代理律师案号PPC-708)中所描述的,和/或切开成为制造棉条所需的宽度。
在较佳实施例中,从密封滚筒的旋转方向看去,至少一个熨烫元件的后端与在旋转方向位于熨烫元件后面的密封元件有热接触,而至少一个熨烫元件在旋转方向的前端从旋转方向来看位于熨烫元件前方的可加热的密封元件分隔,这样,熨烫元件间接地通过密封元件的热接触被加热。对于熨烫元件不需要附加的加热设备。而且,熨烫元件的温度可自动地适合预定的需要温度或热密封所需要的温度。对绒毛卷所施加的温度缓慢地从邻接隔离元件的密封元件处或者熨烫元件的前端处的最高温度点减少,而最后减少到熨烫元件的后端,而恒定地砑光绒毛卷。
可以另外保证,即熨烫元件的最高温度不超过覆盖材料热密封区域。并且防止覆盖材料热密封到绒毛卷上的不必要密封被阻止,并同时熨烫和砑光绒毛卷材料,由此获得显著地改进的绒毛卷纤维结构。
熨烫元件的材料可以从多种热传导材料中选出。一般来说金属,特别是铝,都是较佳材料。依照材料的选择和其相应的热传导率,在上述部分热接触和最佳地适应于使用绒毛卷或覆盖材料的情况下,分别可以确定温度的流向或温度。
熨烫元件和密封元件的热隔离端最好按预定距离隔开,使其可形成隔离空气孔。也可能在热隔离元件之间放置隔离元件。较佳地,密封元件和熨烫元件并不完全隔开。不过,按照元件之间的所选择空间或者采用的隔离元件,如果熨烫元件和密封元件至少部分重叠与/或至少部分互连,可确定所要求隔离程度可以实现这样的重叠,即其中密封元件的端部是有坡度或倾斜的,并放置在一个相应形成的并与其相结合的熨烫元件端部之上或之下。这种重叠也可以当作和命名为“径向互连”。第二种可能性是二元件在外表面至少部分互连,一般在密封滚筒的同轴旋转方向。
在一个较佳实施例中,密封滚筒包括两个直径方向对置的密封元件和两个直径方向对置的熨烫元件。对于覆盖材料的常用长度而言,(覆盖材料以绒毛卷区段条状形式施加的),导致密封滚筒几何形状和尺寸简单和容易实施。如此,熨烫元件和密封元件要求的几何布置可以保证,而不需要元件表面有很大的曲率,很大的曲率是由于密封滚筒的直径较小。自然地,可能只布置一个密封元件和一个熨烫元件,或交替地设置多于两个密封元件和两个熨烫元件。随着提供的密封元件和熨烫元件的数量增加,密封滚筒的直径也增加,因为单个元件的圆周长度依赖于需要处理的材料的几何形状、覆盖材料和绒毛卷区段,如以上所解释。
较佳地,密封元件的温度是通过控制可调节的,使密封元件的温度调节到保持其处于要求的目标温度。可以采用合适的热传感器以监控温度。可调节的温度控制使设备适合于需要加工的材料,这样使各种各样的纤维和覆盖材料,诸如以上所描述的材料,可以用高质量的方式加工。
在另一个实施例中,除密封元件之外,熨烫元件可以直接加热。如此,存在进一步对熨烫元件进行温度控制的可能性,特别是熨烫元件具有恒定温度而沿其整个需要照料的区域内没有温度梯度,而这是要加工的最终产品所要求的。在此实施例中,很可能各熨烫元件的两端均与邻接的密封元件隔热。
本发明还涉及一种生产妇女卫生棉条的方法。具体地说,它有关一种涉及把至少部分热塑性覆盖材料在要求的密封温度下热密封到绒毛卷上的方法。按照本发明该方法在一种温度下和在已密封的覆盖材料区域之间的部位上熨烫绒毛卷,从而最高熨烫温度不超过密封温度。在熨烫元件作用于覆盖材料的区域中,熨烫温度不应该高到足够使其无意地密封或损坏覆盖材料。如上所述联系到本发明的设备,利用这种方法,绒毛卷通过需要的密封过程同时被砑光其表面,即被施加了压力和温度。要求的绒毛卷结构和绒毛厚度得到保证而不需要新的加工工位和额外的设备。
对于含有棉花和人造纤维或人造纤维混合物和对于含有聚乙烯的覆盖材料,较佳的密封温度是140℃。这对使用中的材料提供可靠的热密封。在要求的粘贴区域上覆盖材料可靠地与绒毛卷区段粘合,而其余覆盖材料达到的温度不会使它粘合或否则受到损坏。
按照本发明方法的另一种方法中,熨烫温度基本上是常数,这可以较佳地通过单独加热熨烫元件实现。利用此方法,熨烫元件的一端可以与密封元件热接触而导致至少熨烫元件的一部分区域呈温度梯度,或者密封元件可以完全隔热,后者是一种较佳的变化形式。
图1示出了一种发明的密封滚筒1的一个实施例,该滚筒具有布置在直径两端面对面的两个密封元件10和两个布置在密封元件10之间的熨烫元件20,所述熨烫元件20在直径方向互相面对面。密封元件10的圆周长度正好相当于要密封在覆盖材料上200的绒毛卷100的长度范围。
密封元件10和熨烫元件20是用热传导材料制成。一个具有代表性的、但不是限制性的有用材料列表包括如钢一类的金属,包括不锈钢、低碳钢、工具钢和类似材料;以及铝。有用的不锈钢包括:包含303、304和316的300系列;400系列;和800系列。有用的低碳钢包括1018和1020。有用的铝合金包括:包含2024的2000系列;包含3003的3000系列;包含5052和5080的5000系列;包含6061、6063和6082的6000系列;和包含7075的7000系列。这些材料可以加上适当涂层以防止密封元件腐蚀和磨损并减少密封材料粘连在工具表面上的可能性。这些材料都是本技术领域普通技术人员所了解的。
加热元件与密封元件10的联合方式可良好地控制热量到达密封杆16。较佳地,加热元件可控制到加热精度为+/-5℃,更好是+/-2℃。这可以通过例如相对密封元件10的中间平面对称地放置两个元件而达到,也可以在密封元件上适当位置放置三个或更多的元件(而获得同样效果)。作为替代,可以采用单独板状的加热元件或者在密封元件10内设置管道以容纳循环加热液体。此外,可以在接近密封表面处,例如密封元件10的中间平面,设置一个温度控制元件,例如一个热电偶。
沿密封滚筒1的旋转方向(如箭头x标出),位置处于后端的熨烫元件20的多个端部22与各位于其后方的密封元件10热接触。沿旋转方向作为前端21的熨烫元件20的各端部与位于其前面的各密封元件10隔热。隔热可以简单地用空气间隙实现。不过在目前的实施例中,趋向于使用高隔热的塑料元件。
运行中密封元件10被加热到高达140℃。通过热触点30,热量能从密封元件10传递到熨烫元件20,致使各熨烫元件20在其后端与热触电接近处也有140℃。熨烫元件20显示出有温度梯度,因为存在冷却,故在目前实施例中各熨烫元件20的前端21的温度约为80℃,其中熨烫元件20通过绝热元件15与其后面的密封元件10隔开。
压力滚筒50压迫绒毛卷100使其紧靠密封滚筒,从而覆盖材料200通过密封元件10牢固地密封在绒毛卷上。再一方面,设置了另外的输送和/或驱动滚筒60,它可以驱动绒毛卷100和/或使其保持在要求的位置。图2示出了密封滚筒和带有一条密封在其上的覆盖材料200的绒毛卷区段105的本发明另一个实施例的立体图。密封元件10包括布置成为横向排列的密封杆16,并且互相之间隔开距离,所述该密封杆从密封元件10基底17凸出约0.3cm。
熨烫元件20在图2中未示出,它们仅仅为圆圈的弓形部分,具有基本上光滑但弯曲的表面,而可嵌入密封滚筒1中。各自依据材料和它的热传导率,利用熨烫元件20可能的更换,熨烫元件的温度和特别是温度梯度能够适合于要求的目标和使用的材料。如图1中实施例所示,在熨烫元件插入密封滚筒1之后,沿旋转方向x,在熨烫元件20的后端和位于其后方的密封元件10之间具有热接触点,而沿旋转方向x,熨烫元件的前端21与各自的位于其前面的密封元件10分开。
再一次声明,在本发明范围内进一步变动密封杆是可能和可行的。除把覆盖物密封在绒毛卷之外,密封元件10的密封杆16可以延伸超出覆盖材料以便附加地压缩或砑光绒毛卷。这对可能包含在绒毛卷中的不易弯曲的纤维提供更有利的砑光。
附图仅仅是示意性的并且不按实际尺寸比例,故不能从具体尺寸中推论而得到对本发明的限制。
无论是单独地或者以任何可能的组合而言,在权利要求书、说明书和附图中披露的特征对于本发明是实质性的。
Claims (19)
1.一种把覆盖材料粘贴在绒毛卷上的设备,包括:
a)一个基本上圆柱形可旋转的密封滚筒,具有圆周表面和一旋转方向,并具有
i)一密封元件,包括热传导材料和具有沿旋转方向的前端和后端
ii)一熨烫元件,包括热传导材料和具有沿旋转方向的前端和后端
b)一个可转动基准滚筒,设置在密封滚筒附近,以在其间提供辊隙,在辊隙中覆盖材料和绒毛卷相继地被粘合和砑光,其中密封滚筒至少有一对沿旋转方向相继地放置在密封滚筒的圆周表面上的密封及熨烫元件,并且熨烫元件的至少一端是与邻接密封元件的邻近端隔热。
2.如权利要求1所述所述的设备,其特征在于,至少一对密封及熨烫元件是如此布置和配置,即其中至少一对中的密封元件的后端是邻近至少一对中的熨烫元件的前端并与之隔热。
3.如权利要求2所述的设备,其特征在于,密封滚筒只包括一对密封及熨烫元件,而密封元件的前端是与熨烫元件的后端热接触。
4.如权利要求2所述的设备,其特征在于,密封滚筒至少包括二对密封及熨烫元件,并且各对中的密封元件的拖尾端是邻近各对中的熨烫元件的前导端并与之隔热,而各对中的密封元件的前导端与邻近一对中熨烫元件的拖尾端处于热接触。
5.如权利要求4所述的设备,其特征在于,所述密封滚筒包括二对密封及熨烫元件,密封元件互相在直径方向对置,而熨烫元件也互相在直径方向对置。
6.如权利要求1所述的设备,其特征在于,所述熨烫元件为金属。
7.如权利要求6所述的设备,其特征在于,所述熨烫元件为铝。
8.如权利要求1所述的设备,其特征在于,熨烫元件的至少一端通过空气间隙与邻近密封元件的邻近端隔热。
9.如权利要求1所述的设备,其特征在于,熨烫元件的至少一端通过隔离元件与邻近密封元件的邻近端隔热。
10.一种生产棉条的工艺过程,包括下列步骤:
a)把包含有热塑性材料的覆盖片材施加在纤维卷上;
b)使纤维卷和覆盖片材通过密封滚筒和基准滚筒之间的辊隙;
c)对覆盖片材和纤维卷组合的第一部分加热到第一温度范围,足够使覆盖片材粘贴在吸收卷上;
d)对覆盖片材和纤维卷组合的第二部分加热到第二温度范围,而不使覆盖片材粘贴在吸收卷上但足以砑光纤维卷;
其中,所述密封滚筒对覆盖片材和纤维卷组合提供第一和第二温度范围的热量。
11.如权利要求10所述的工艺过程,其特征在于,第一温度范围大于在覆盖片材中热塑性材料的软化点。
12.如权利要求11所述的工艺过程,其特征在于,第一温度范围大于在覆盖片材中热塑性材料的熔化点。
13.如权利要求10所述的工艺过程,其特征在于,第二温度范围小于在覆盖片材中热塑性材料的软化点。
14.如权利要求10所述的工艺过程,其特征在于,第二温度范围基本上是恒定的。
15.如权利要求10所述的工艺过程,其特征在于,第二温度范围在覆盖片材和纤维卷组合通过辊隙期间有所增加。
16.如权利要求15所述的工艺过程,其特征在于,第二温度范围约从80℃到140℃。
17.如权利要求10所述的工艺过程,其特征在于,纤维卷为多枝纤维。
18.如权利要求17所述的工艺过程,其特征在于,纤维卷为多枝人造纤维。
