Abstract

背景技术
公知的掌上PC不具有提供“立即”打印出其中的文本和/或图像的装置。而是,如果需要打印输出,掌上PC必须将其中存储的数据传送到连接有打印机的另一个PC上。
仅仅将公知的传统打印机设备结合到掌上PC中将不会产生小型、容易携带的掌上PC。这是因为现有打印机结合了打印介质的供应并且使用打印介质供给机构以将打印介质通过打印头传输以实现在打印介质上打印。此外,公知的带有打印介质供应的打印机大且其重量大于便携式掌上PC的理想重量,所述便携式掌上PC的大小和形状被制成例如适合于方便地放置在用户的衣袋或者钱包中。

发明内容
根据本发明,提供一种数字掌上PC,包括:
壳;
一光编码器轮和一惰轮,所述光编码器轮具有设置在其圆周上的多个标记,所述光编码器轮和惰轮的每个从所述壳凸出,并具有公共轴,所述轮配置成使所述壳经过所述壳外部的打印介质;
光学传感器,用于在所述光编码器轮与所述介质接触并旋转时、感测所述标记;
数字存储设备,以数字的方式存储文本和/或图像数据;以及
打印机,其定位在所述壳内并且接收来自该数字存储设备的数字信息,将打印机配置成在掌上PC沿打印方向经过其外部的介质时,将图像打印在该介质上。
优选地,掌上PC进一步包括移动传感器,设置以测量掌上PC沿打印方向经过介质时的相对移动。更优选地,移动传感器包括轮,配置成在掌上PC沿打印方向经过介质时与所述介质接合。
在一个实施例中,该轮是光编码器轮,其包括一系列的圆周标记,该移动传感器进一步包括光学传感器,用于在该轮与介质接合地进行旋转的时候、检测标记的相对移动。
可替换地,该移动传感器形成光学跟踪系统的部分,用于在掌上PC沿打印方向经过介质时、跟踪掌上PC的相对移动。在一种形式中,光学跟踪系统包括用于识别该掌上PC关于所述介质的相对移动的图案识别装置。该光学跟踪系统可被配置成识别在介质上的预定图案,并且通过确定掌上PC关于预定图案的相对移动来识别掌上PC关于介质的相对移动。
优选地,所述壳还包括打印控制器,包括可将图像数据输入其中并且转换成一系列墨滴喷出控制信号的处理器。打印控制器根据所述的墨滴喷出控制信号操作所述喷墨喷嘴,以便在通过所测量的掌上PC关于所述介质的相对移动而确定的打印速度,在所述打印介质上进行打印。
优选地,该打印机包括按需滴墨彩色喷墨打印头。
在一个优选形式中,掌上PC进一步包括贮墨器,与打印头流体连通用于向其提供墨。优选地,该贮墨器包括至少一个墨入口,通过该墨入口,可向该贮墨器再填充墨。

具体实施方式
在附图中的图1中,示意地描绘了具有整体打印机的掌上PC。掌上PC的尺寸和形状被制成为适合放置在典型的用户的衣袋或者钱包中,并且在附图中已经显示了经过打印介质11的纸张以在其上打印图像12。
如在图2中显示的,掌上PC包括具有顶模件13和底模件14的壳。这些模件罩住了该设备的内部元件。掌上PC包括彩色液晶显示器(LCD)和接触屏20。笔21装在掌上PC中的插座中并且被用于接触LCD和接触屏20以操作设备。功能按钮19也用于控制掌上PC的机能。
在掌上PC10的底部边缘,提供两端装配有轮16和22的打印头15。轮16为光编码器轮,而轮22为惰轮。这些轮可被连接以在公共轴上一致地旋转。在我们的名称为“Portable Printer and Copier”的共同未决的申请(AP46)中详细地描述了光编码器轮16、惰轮22和打印头15的操作,通过交叉引用将其内容具体结合于此。
加盖设备(未示出)可选择性地盖上和不盖上打印头15,其在名称为“Capping Device for a Portable Printer”的我们的共同未决的申请(AP44)中进行了描述,在这里通过交叉引用将其内容具体结合于此。作为加盖设备的替换,可以提供墨密封36。其可以是弹性材料的可拆卸带的形式。
如在图3中所示的,掌上PC10包括墨入口17,通过该墨入口可将具有若干独立隔室的内部贮墨器重新装满墨。在此实施例中,电池充电器和通信端口模块18置于掌上PC的与墨入口17相同的一侧。
如在图4的分解透视图中所示,LCD和接触屏20设置在印刷电路板26上。多个功能开关37装配在PCB26上并且与功能按钮19对齐,以便在使用按钮19时可被按下。优选为锂离子可再充电电池的电池23位于PCB旁边,并且与充电器端口模块18和PCB26电连接。还提供了扬声器24。墨入口分别与在贮液器29中的隔室连通。在图9中对这些隔室进行了最好地说明。单独的墨隔室将墨传送打印头单元15。
如在图5中所描绘的,在PCB26上附加了动态随机存取存储器(DRAM)芯片31、打印引擎控制器(PEC)芯片30、QA芯片27和闪存芯片28。电池23在连接器块38连接到PCB,且用于软性PCB39的带状缆通过连接器块40将功率和通信端口模块18连接到PCB26。
如在图9中显示,贮墨器29被分成多个纵向的隔室。在所描绘的实施例中,是用于青色墨32、洋红色墨33、黑色墨34和黄色墨35的分开的隔室。这些隔室中的油墨被传递到打印头15。
从PCB26到打印头15的功率和数据传输可通过在这两个单元之间的直接连接进行。也就是说,打印头15可具有直接焊接到PCB26上的电接点。然而,在可替换的结构中,可使用在打印头15和PCB26之间延伸的中间软性PCB。
在使用中,掌上PC10可通过在彩色LCD和接触屏20上使用笔21来操作。也可按照需要操作功能按钮19。在期望打印文本和/或图形的图像时,可使用笔21或者功能按钮19来启动打印命令。然后如在图1中所示,使用者在一张打印介质上(在此情形中是纸)拖动打印头15。PEC芯片30响应于从光编码器轮16接收的信号控制打印头15在打印介质11上的墨喷出,其中所述光编码器轮16在使用时与打印介质11的表面接触并旋转。在作为交叉引用的我们的共同未决的申请AP46中,对这种交互作用进行了详细的描述。
掌上PC的壳中的部件的内部配置可根据需要变化。例如打印头和墨盒可以为整体单元或者单独形成。通常打印头可垂直地延伸到墨盒的范围或者平行地延伸到那里。在另一个实施例中,不是仅在掌上PC的狭窄边缘上提供两个轮16和22(一个光编码器轮和一个惰轮),而是比方说可在底模件14的宽的背面提供三个、四个或者更多轮。在提供四个轮的情形中,他们可在平面上呈矩形布局放置。这些轮中的一个将是光编码器轮,且其他的轮是惰轮。通常打印头可以设置在由一矩形限定的空间中,所述矩形的每个角具有一个轮。

Claims (12)
1.一种数字掌上PC,包括:
壳;
一个光编码器轮和一个惰轮,所述光编码器轮具有设置在其圆周上的多个标记,所述轮的每个从所述壳伸出,并具有公共轴,所述轮配置成使所述壳经过所述壳外部的打印介质;
一个光学传感器,用于在所述光编码器轮与所述介质接触地旋转时、感测所述标记;
数字存储设备,以数字的方式存储文本和/或图像数据;以及
打印机,设置在所述壳内并且从所述数字存储设备接收数字信息,所述打印机被配置成在所述掌上PC沿打印方向经过其外部的介质时,将图像打印在所述介质上。
2.如权利要求1所述的掌上PC,其中所述光学传感器形成光学跟踪系统的部分,用于在所述掌上PC沿所述打印方向经过所述介质时、跟踪所述掌上PC的相对移动。
3.如权利要求2所述的掌上PC,其中所述光学跟踪系统包括用于识别所述掌上PC关于所述介质的相对移动的图案识别装置。
4.如权利要求2所述的掌上PC,其中,所述光学跟踪系统被配置成识别所述介质上的预定图案,并且通过确定所述掌上PC关于所述预定图案的相对移动来识别所述掌上PC关于所述介质的所述相对移动。
5.如权利要求1所述的掌上PC,其中所述壳还包括打印控制器,所述打印控制器包括处理器,图像数据可输入所述处理器中并且转换成墨滴喷出控制信号序列,所述打印控制器根据所述墨滴喷出控制信号操作所述喷墨喷嘴,以便以通过所测量的掌上PC相对于所述介质的相对移动而确定的打印速度,在所述打印介质上进行打印。
6.如权利要求1所述的掌上PC,其中所述打印机包括按需滴出的彩色喷墨打印头。
