本发明涉及一种根据权利要求1的前述部分(generic part)进程(ina development)标记层压薄膜材料的方法以及根据权利要求18的前述部分的用于包装目的的层压薄膜。
使用层压薄膜作为泡罩包装的背衬箔在包装技术中是众所周知的。这类层压薄膜由固定于塑料薄膜上的金属基材如铝和位于下侧的可以熔接于塑料容器的塑料薄膜材料组成,该塑料薄膜在上侧和/或面向该金属箔的一侧被印刷。这类层压薄膜通常也在上侧标记有许多信息,如失效日期、批号以及标明包装体内容物的其它标记。若该泡罩包装在密封后经受各种其他工艺步骤,如通过高压灭菌而消毒,由于包装体内容物用于药物领域,因此必须保证上侧的标记可以经受这种处理。
用于标记泡罩包装(随后进行消毒)的热转印方法例如从EP-0646471已知。然而,标记的结果并不特别令人满意,因为存在太多的反差且因此不能与包装设计最佳地配合。此外,该方法要求消耗大量材料。再有,使用该技术仍需要在卷制材料上,即在通常绕辊子卷绕的薄膜上进行标记,因为不能标记已经密封的容器。
本发明以这样的方式解决了标记尤其用于泡罩包装的层压薄膜的上侧的问题,即该标记能经受随后的工艺步骤如对包装材料的消毒且产生最合适的结果。此外,该标记方法能在包装工厂在线进行且特征在于材料消耗量最小。
本发明以权利要求1和权利要求21所示的特征解决了该问题。对于其他实质性设计特征,可参考从属权利要求。
激光的使用能使薄膜材料的上侧带有标记,这些标记已被证明可耐随后的工艺步骤,例如尤其是消毒且保持其特性。作为激光处理的结果,上侧塑料薄膜以发生可见颜色变化的方式发生热变化,或者除去用激光束处理的表面部分以产生所需的文字。在后一种减去(substractive)程序下,薄膜的着色顶层被除下到金属基材上,该基材也用作对抗激光处理的缓冲垫,因而消除了穿孔的危险。若选择的塑料的颜色与金属颜色形成鲜明对比,则该薄膜获得消晰可见的标记,该标记可以整合到包装设计的视觉标号中,这种整合比用黑白印刷可能达到的整合好得多。由于下面的金属层在高压灭菌器中处理包装材料时不发生任何变化,因此在这种处理之后对标记无损害。若塑料上层的颜色变化由激光实现,则通常使用含颜料的塑料薄膜,该颜料的颜色在进行激光处理时发生变化。在每种情况下,激光允许标记已充满和密封的容器,因为印刷在标记器和密封薄膜之间的距离较大的情况下以非接触方式发生,因而不要求表面光滑。

激光标记单元1设计用于标记尤其用于泡罩包装的层压薄膜。该类层压薄膜包括固定于塑料薄膜上且通常由铝制成的金属基材和位于下侧且可熔接于塑料容器上的塑料薄膜材料,所述塑料薄膜在上侧和/或面向金属箔的一侧被印刷。作为激光标记方法中激光处理的结果,上侧塑料薄膜以发生可见颜色变化的方式发生热变化,或者除去用激光束处理的表面部分以产生所需的文字。激光标记单元1优选包括激光器2、偏转镜3和平场透镜4。高频激发的封离(sealed-off)CO2激光优选用作减去标记程序的激光光源2,该激光无外部气体供应且波长为10.6μm。通常可以假设气体填充(gas fill)的寿命为约20000操作小时。由于该激光是HF-泵激的,因此无需泵激闪光灯,后者例如用于固态激光器。因此,成本限于能耗成本。对于借助上层塑料薄膜的颜色变化的激光标记,优选使用Nd∶YAG激光器。
激光束5便利地由两个旋转检流计反射镜3偏转。这些在封闭回路中操作,温度被有效稳定化。由于镜3仅有很低的移动质量,因此可以实现高偏转速率和精确的光程精度。偏转之后,光束5通过平场透镜4聚焦于操作杆6上。总之,由于该校准的透镜和镜体系3、4,激光器2的焦点在操作平面6上移动。平场透镜4的焦距优选为200mm,以提供足够大的工作距离。借助旋转检流计反射镜3的轴向移动排列排除激光束5的扭曲。通过位于计算机中的程序单控制镜3。此外,整合的光束扩展器以TEM00-模式提供具有良好焦深的小直径焦点。小直径焦点对标记质量是重要的,尤其如果设计大工作场所的话。焦点的有利直径为320μm。
因为包括偏转镜3和平场透镜4的激光器2书写头与待标记的薄膜表面6间隔200mm,所以因安全原因需屏蔽工作场所以免受标记过程中的任何干预。由于所用激光2的波长,为此目的可使用有机玻璃罩。这提供了可检查标记程序的优点。此外,该设计包括一用于激光束5的间断装置8,其处于电子控制下且用于间断激光束。例如当打开该罩的保护门时其被激活。
优选将激光标记单元1整合到包装工厂中,从而使薄膜的标记完全自动化,直接在线进行,理想的是在密封包装容器之后。图2说明尤其用于接触透镜的包装工厂的5条生产线7,其连续输送图3所示的工具载体9,各载体上载有泡罩条10。泡罩条10包含5个一个在一个之后排列的泡罩包装11,它们由形状对应于泡罩包装11上侧的轮廓的薄膜条12相互连接,因为该薄膜条12在各泡罩包装11填充包装物体之后与其熔接,所述包装物体优选接触透镜。为了标记泡罩条10的薄膜12上侧,设计装备有传感器的制动棒13,使带有泡罩条10的载体9迅速停止,从而使它们能够被激光2在固定的标记位置标记。由于激光束5的偏转对该优选实施方案中设计的5条生产线7不足且激光标记单元1的位移太复杂,有利的是将两个激光标记单元1和100整合到包装工厂中,其中单元1对生产线1、2和3提供标记,而单元100对生产线3、4和5提供标记。当然也可以设计仅带一个激光器的包装工厂或具有两个以上激光器的包装工厂。
如图4所示,必要的标记数据由工艺控制系统送入包装工厂和激光标记单元1和100,对各生产线7而言,数据组可能不同。在一条生产线7内,数据组保持相同,直至由工艺控制系统传入新数据组。生产线3的标记通过最先变得自由的激光单元1或100进行。
在标记过程中发生的废料有利的是通过废气系统排出,该废气系统在本文没有进一步详细描述。
本发明的激光印刷方法特别适于具有柔韧性层压薄膜覆盖层的泡罩包装,如泡罩接触透镜包装。一个示例性泡罩接触透镜包装公开于授予Borghorst的美国专利5609246中。通常而言,用于接触透镜的泡罩包装具有一个硬质泡罩容器和一个与该泡罩包装的开口热或粘合相连的柔韧性层压薄膜覆盖层。该层压覆盖层设计成柔韧的以使该覆盖材料在该生产方法过程中将层压覆盖材料施用于该包装上时和由消费者除去该覆盖材料时易于处理。该层压覆盖材料至少具有热塑性外层和背衬层。该热塑性外层由成膜热塑性聚合物生产,所述聚合物包括聚烯烃,如聚乙烯、聚丙烯、聚丁烯及其共聚物;聚酯,如聚对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯、聚对苯二甲酸丁二醇酯及其共聚物;以及聚氯乙烯。该外层为提供可印刷表面的保护层,该背衬层提供水分和气体阻隔性能。合适的背衬层材料包括金属,如铝;以及热塑性聚合物,如聚烯烃、聚酯、聚氯乙烯、聚乙烯醇或丙烯腈聚合物,但优选金属。优选背衬层由较上层的热塑性材料具有更高热分解温度的材料制成。另外,该层压覆盖材料可以具有额外的层,包括热塑性薄膜内层,其紧邻于背衬层设置以使该内层可以用作将该层压薄膜覆盖层连于泡罩容器的粘合层。该柔韧性层压薄膜覆盖材料可以针对在线印刷方法适当构造的卷状物提供。

按照本发明,层压覆盖材料的上层和背衬层具有颜色对比度,因而当通过激光除去上层的图案时,该图案清晰可见。例如当在上层的热塑性配方中加入蓝色颜料或染料并使用铝层作背衬层时,可通过除去或消去该上层而在覆盖材料上以形成字母图案或文字设计而赋予高度可辨的信息。
使用CO2激光得到的标记结果表明该薄膜的标记的特征在于非常高的字符质量和耐性。字体清晰可见且具有高分辨率。该薄膜的着色顶层从金属基材上除去,其中业已表明当铝用作基材时这对激光处理提供了良好的缓冲且在该方法过程中未发生穿孔。总之,该标记具有令人愉悦的外观且与包装设计配合良好。由于该方法在标记器与密封薄膜之间的距离较大的情况下以非接触方式进行,已填充和密封的容器可以在字符清晰度和分辨率方面无任何问题地标记。此外,标记单元在包装工厂中的整合具有的优点是该生产方法明显可更为灵活。此外,已表明在消毒之后标记仍清晰可辨且未发生变化。

25.权利要求21的层压薄膜,包括含颜料的塑料薄膜材料。
26.权利要求25的层压薄膜,包括在激光刻入的标记领域中改变其颜色的颜料。
