硬盘驱动器的磁头平衡架装置
技术领域
本发明涉及硬盘驱动器的磁头平衡架装置(HGA:head-gimbalassembly),更具体地,涉及具有防震功能的硬盘驱动器的磁头平衡架,以防止震动传递到安装有磁头的滑块。
背景技术
在传统的硬盘驱动器中,如图1所示,用于记录预定信息的硬盘D由心轴电机40驱动而旋转。包括具有磁头平衡架装置(HGA)10的枢轴臂20和固定有枢轴臂20的音圈电机30的致动器设置在硬盘D的一侧。因而,当硬盘D记录和再现信息时,心轴电机40旋转,进而驱动硬盘D旋转。音圈电机30驱动枢轴臂20,进而驱动安装在HGA10上的磁头11(参见图2)至硬盘D上想要的磁道位置,使得记录和再现得以执行。
如图2和3所示,HGA10包括连接到枢轴臂20的底板16、通过铰接件14连接到底板16的载荷横梁15、安装有磁头11的滑块12以及一端连接到载荷横梁15而另一自由端部分支撑滑块12的弹性支撑件13。附图标记15a表示设置在载荷横梁15底表面的载荷点。载荷点15a接触弹性支撑件13的一部分,在此滑块12被支撑并向其提供一载荷。
但是,在具有以上结构的HGA10中,问题在于由于气流或致动器的震动引起载荷横梁15震动,并且载荷横梁15的震动通过载荷点15a直接传递给滑块12。也就是,由于均为刚性体的载荷点15a和滑块12通过亦为刚性体的弹性支撑件13彼此接触,所以载荷横梁15的振动没有衰减地传递至滑块12。由于硬盘D旋转时由气流和硬盘震动的激发而产生的滑块12的震动得不到衰减,因而HGA10的震动变大。结果,磁头11的位置错误信号增加。硬盘驱动器中的位置错误信号主要由于心轴电机40和硬盘D旋转时产生的震动和HGA10的震动而产生的。超过3kHz频率的位置错误信号由HGA10的震动产生。但是,由于超过3kHz的震动通常超出硬盘驱动器伺服控制系统的频宽,实际上,不可能加以控制以消减所述震动。考虑到目前对于具有更高磁道密度的大容量硬盘的需求十分普遍,可控制范围外的位置错误信号成为产品较低可靠性的主要因素。因此,需要具有新结构的HGA以解决以上问题。
发明内容
为了解决以上和其它问题,本发明提供一种具有防震功能的硬盘驱动器的HGA,以防止震动传递到安装有磁头的滑块。
根据本发明的一个方面,硬盘驱动器的磁头平衡架装置包括连接到枢轴臂的载荷横梁、安装有磁头的滑块、一端连接到载荷横梁而另一自由端支撑滑块的弹性支撑件、以及设置在载荷横梁和滑块之间的减震器,以消减载荷横梁和滑块之间传递的震动,载荷点形成在朝向滑块延伸的载荷横梁处,并且减震器设置在支撑滑块的弹性支撑件的一部分和载荷点之间。

具体实施方式
图5和6显示根据本发明的硬盘驱动器的HGA。如图所示,根据本发明的HGA包括连接到图1中的枢轴臂20的底板160、通过铰接件140连接到底板160的载荷横梁150、安装有磁头110的滑块120、一端连接到载荷横梁150而另一自由端支撑滑块120的弹性支撑件130、以及设置在弹性支撑件130和安装在载荷横梁150底表面的载荷点151之间的减震件200。
减震件200通过弹性支撑件130实现消减滑块120和载荷横梁150之间传递的震动。例如,优选地采用由塑料材料制成的重量轻并具有减震功能的减震器。
当提供有减震件200时,由于从载荷横梁150传递到滑块120或者从滑块120传递到载荷横梁150的震动经过减震件200,因而震动引起的相互影响减小。为了更清楚地检验减震件200的作用,在3~12kHz频率范围内测量了传统HGA和根据本发明的HGA的NRRO PES(不可重复的偏转位置错误信号(Non-Repeatable Run Out Position Error Signal))和RRO PES(可重复的偏转位置错误信号(Repeatable Run Out Position Error Signal))。这里,RROPES是指与硬盘旋转速度同步的位置错误信号,而NRRO PES是指非同步的其它位置错误信号。结果,得到确认的是,与传统技术相比,NRRO PES平均减小大约40%,如图7A和7B所示,而RRO PES减小大约20%,如图8A和8B所示。这是由于减震件200消减了滑块120和载荷横梁150之间传递的震动,使得所述位置错误信号减小,产品的可靠性改善。
在以上优选实施例中,作为减震器,减震件200由塑料材料制成。然而,任何能够改变减震能力的装置,例如压电装置或者微致动器,可以被用作减震器。也就是说,当减震件200为一旦安装减震能力即被固定了的件时,由于根据电流的供应产生位移,所以压电装置或者微致动器为可以改变减震能力的装置。因而,通过在支撑滑块120的弹性支撑件130部分和载荷点151之间安装压电装置或微致动器并控制电流,减震能力得以控制,使得可以获得理想的减震效果。
如上所述,在根据本发明硬盘驱动器的HGA中,由于传递到滑块的震动通过预定的减震工具消减,所以由于震动而产生的对位置错误信号的影响减小,并改善了产品的可靠性。

Claims (4)

1.一种硬盘驱动器的磁头平衡架装置,包括:
载荷横梁,其连接到枢轴臂;
滑块,磁头安装在该滑块上;
弹性支撑件,具有连接到所述载荷横梁的一端和支撑所述滑块的另一自由端;以及
减震器,其设置在所述载荷横梁和所述滑块之间,以消减所述载荷横梁和所述滑块之间传递的震动,
其中载荷点形成在朝向所述滑块延伸的所述载荷横梁处,并且所述减震器设置在支撑所述滑块的所述弹性支撑件的一部分和所述载荷点之间。
2.根据权利要求1所述的磁头平衡架装置,其中所述减震器包括由塑料材料制成的减震件。
3.根据权利要求1所述的磁头平衡架装置,其中所述减震器包括压电装置。
4.根据权利要求1所述的磁头平衡架装置,其中所述减震器包括根据电流的供应移动的微致动器。
