Abstract

本发明涉及使用紫外线对水消毒的系统。
发明背景
在杀菌消毒领域已知波长约254nm的紫外(“UV”)光能用来消毒水,即,使水免除细菌、病毒、藻类等。公知的使用UV光的现有水净化系统是大型安装式系统,其包括径流子系统,后者引起水流经悬置其中的细长UV光源。一个石英套管围绕着UV光源,用于保护它并免于其与水电接触,同时使UV光能通过水。目前这种系统譬如在医院或学校中用作水净化。
每个径流子系统基本包括径流室,即管道。当水流经管道时,它亦流过石英套管,并由此流过UV光源,它就被暴露于UV射线中。UV光便杀死水中存有的细菌、病毒等。水的副产物将形成在石英套管上,于是,该系统包括周期地清扫石英套管的扫刷机构。通常,该系统包括一个诸如观察口和/或传感器的机构,用于确定灯的输出强度。用户可以透过观察口从视觉上检查灯,以保证灯被导通及石英套管足够干净以通过消毒水所需的UV光强度。传感器对UV光的测量用于相同目的。
这些径流系统对于较大量的水可以很好地工作。但是,它们不适于消毒小量的水。
现在,野营者、步游者、旅行者等将会遭遇到溪流、湖泊及河流及甚至在某些国家本地自来水管中感染有细菌及病毒的水。因此,这些野营者、步游者、旅行者必需随身携带瓶装水或使用便携式滤水系统和/或氯、过氧化氢或碘片来消毒水。滤水系统通常笨大,因而不便携带。此外,这些滤水系统虽可除去水中的细菌及藻类,但不能消除病毒,病毒通常太小,以至不会被过滤器捕获。化学片剂倒是很便携带,但相对昂贵。另外,药片会改变水的口味及气味,并使水附加不希望有的副产物。实际上,为了健康原因,药片制造商常常警告人们勿连续服用药片。
发明概述
本发明在于一种使用UV光消毒小量水或小批水的便携手持式水净化器。该水净化器约为笔形手电的大小及形状,并从一端伸出带有石英套的小型UV灯。将该套同灯浸入到水容器中及然后导通灯,使水消除感染的媒质。必要时,用户可用该系统的灯端搅拌水,以保证所有的水充分地接近灯流动。
该系统使用电池工作,它还包括在UV灯基部的液面传感器。该传感器直到灯完全浸入水中才允许灯被导通。容器及水起到屏蔽UV射线的作用,以致只有很少的射线从容器中发出。这阻止了有害的UV射线到达用户、尤其是,用户的眼睛。

图示实施例详述
图1表示用于消毒较小份额水的便携手持式水净化系统10。该系统包括从第一端11伸出的、笔状手电大小的石英UV灯12,该灯发射杀菌波长范围的光。在该示例系统中,该灯发射约254nm的光。该灯由电池14通过镇流电路13供电,在该示例系统中电池是AA尺寸的3.4V可充电锂电池。一个石英套16在三侧上包围着UV灯12。该石英套16配合到座18中,后者也对灯12起震动吸收器的作用。如果套16及由此灯12撞击它们所放入容器32(图2)的边缘或侧面时,座18将被适应地压缩及弯曲。在该示例系统中,座18由硅作成并与套16形成防水密封,以防止水进入灯及相关电路。当该装置不使用时,用一个可拆保护盖35保护灯及石英套。
连接在灯12及镇流电路13和电池14之间的开关(未示出)上的液位传感器20在直到灯完全浸入水中时,才允许UV灯导通。然后,来自灯的UV射线被水及容器吸收和/或反射,以使得极少的UV射线从容器中透出。手持该系统另一端21的使用者从而得到保护免受有害强度的UV射线,否则可能对他或她的眼睛有不利影响。
该传感器20譬如可以是电容型传感器,以检测水及周围空气的电容量差。当传感器确定出灯已在水中,即必定意味着灯被浸在水中,该传感器使开关闭合并使灯导通。
该水净化器10还可包括一个定时电路22,其连接在传感器及灯同相关电路之间。该定时电路在传感器20接通灯后的预定时间、如15秒使灯关闭。
电池14及相关电路被封装在防水管24中。在该示范实施例中,管24由不锈钢构成。整个水净化器约为六又四分之三英寸长及直径为八分之五英寸,它能被舒适地持于一只手中。管24包括两部分,即顶部23及底部26,它们在接头25处被拧在一起,以致在需要时,能更换电池14。一个硅O型圈26使接头25防水地密封。
用户使用一个(on-off)开关28控制该系统。如上所述,灯12的发光最后受到液位传感器20的控制,因此,仅当开关28置于开(on)位置及灯全部浸在水中时灯才发光。
该水净化器10还可包括电池充电器30,其在该示例系统中是传统的感应式充电电路。此外,该水净化器还包括一个电源开显示LED29及电池缺电显示LED 31,它们分别对用户指示UV灯已发光及电池需更换或充电。
现在参照图2,用户将该水净化器的灯端11放置到水34中,即例如水杯32中。用户通过将开关28移动到合适位置使系统10导通。当液位传感器20确定出灯已全部浸在水中时,传感器使将镇流电路13及电池14(图1)与灯12分开的开关(未示出)闭合,灯便导通。传感器20也起动使灯保持导通一预定时间的定时电路22。
用户亦可用系统10的灯端11搅拌水34,以保证所有的水均足够地靠近UV射线源。但如果容器小的话,用户无需搅拌水。
在使用后,用户将擦或清洗石英套16,以清除粘附在套上并可能对装置输出强度有不利影响的水副产物。因而,该手持式净化器无需包括如现有径流系统中所需的复杂刷擦机构及相关的射线强度传感器。
因此,该手持式UV水净化系统10是一种完全便携的系统,它能消毒小量或小批量的水,例如盛在水杯中的水。该水净化器10既小又轻,因此它能在旅行、徒步、野营等场合方便且容易地使用。这与公知的径流式UV水净化系统形成对照,后者设计用于为学校、医院等消毒大量的水。这种径流式系统需这样安装,即让水流过固定地悬浮置在管路置的细长UV光源。这种径流式系统对少量的水不能工作且不能方便地携带,而少量水正有待使用该手持式便携系统的使用。
以上的说明局限在一个具体的实施例上。但显然,对本发明可作出能达到其部分或所有优点的变化及修改。因此,附设权利要求书旨在覆盖所有落在本发明的真实精神及范国内的这种变化和修改。
Claims (11)
1.一种手持式水净化系统,包括:
A.一个支持系统的壳,该壳具有内部、外部、第一端及第二端和大小能握于一只手中的尺寸;
B.紫外光源,它从壳的第一端向外伸出;
C.透射紫外光的套,它具有第一端及第二端并配合地盖在紫外光源上,该盖的第一端装在壳上以对光源形成防水密封及从壳向外伸出;及
D.电池及相关的镇流电路,它们安装在壳的内部并对光源供电;
其中套被浸在水中及将光源导通以净化水。
2.根据权利要求1的系统,还包括一个液位传感器,用于直到光源被浸到水中才允许光源导通。
3.根据权利要求2的系统,还包括一个定时电路,用于在传感器导通光源后的预定时间上使光源关断。
4.根据权利要求2的系统,其中:
a.电池是可充电的;及
b.该系统还包括一个电池充电器。
5.一种用于净化盛于容器中的水的方法,该方法包括以下步骤:
A.使手持式水净化系统导通;
B.将紫外光源及相连的紫外光透射套浸入待净化的水中,该光源及套从其它系统部件中伸出并形成该系统的第一端;
C.检测光源完全被浸入水中;及
D.使光源导通以在容器中发射紫外射线,该射线使水净化。
6.根据权利要求5的方法,还包括:用系统的第一端搅动水
的搅拌水步骤。
7.根据权利要求5的方法,还包括:在光源导通后的预定时间上关断光源的步骤。
8.一种用于净化盛于容器中的水的方法,该方法包括以下步骤:
A.将向外伸出的紫外光源及相连的防水紫外光透射套浸入待净化的水中;
B.使该光源导通以在水中发射紫外射线;及
C.通过用系统的光源及套端搅动水的搅拌水步骤,来自光源的射线将使水净化。
9.根据权利要求8的方法,还包括:在光源导通前检测光源完全被浸入水中的步骤。
10.根据权利要求5的方法,还包括:在光源导通后的预定时间上关断光源的步骤。
11.根据权利要求10的方法,还包括:在灯被关断后使灯及石英套从容器中移出的步骤。
