Abstract

技术领域
本发明涉及用于使诸如录像带的磁带记录介质能够用作经数字通信线连接的个人计算机的辅助存储设备的方法。
背景技术
最近发展起来的带式记录介质,诸如DVHS带的数字录像带是一种其中记录了高质量数字视频和音频信号的海量存储设备,从而期望这种DVHS带能被普及。而且,作为能够显示高质量视频的数字视频显示装置,数字电视(以下称为D-TV)能够显示从数字卫星广播或诸如DVD的超级记录介质提供的高质量的数字视频。因此,D-TV与向/从DVHS带记录和再现数字数据的DVHS-VCR一起也将被普及。
因此,DVHS-VCR和D-TV的应用将更广泛并且它们经数字接口IEEE-1394而彼此连接,该数字接口被推荐为数字连接的标准。
图1是经诸如IEEE-1394的数字接口而彼此连接的DVHS-VCR和D-TV的简化框图。DVHS-VCR包括:向/从数字录像带记录和再现数字视频和音频数据的磁头11;用于处理视频/音频数据以记录或处理读出的视频/音频数据的记录/再现信号处理器12;用于向/从经诸如IEEE-1394的数字接口而连接的个人计算机(此后称为PC)发送/接收数据的接口14;用于控制记录和再现数据的整体操作的控制器13。D-TV包括:用于向/从经诸如IEEE-1394的数字接口连接的DVHS-VCR发送/接收数据的接口21;用于解码接收到的数据并提供视频图像的显示器22;用于控制数据显示的整体操作的控制器23。
DVHS-VCR和D-TV之间通信的数据流具有传输流(此后称为TS)格式,其是MPEG格式之一。在DVHS-VCR中产生的TS经数字接口被发送到D-TV,然后在D-TV中被处理来显示视频图像。并且,D-TV接收包含高质量视频图像的数字卫星广播信号并以TS格式发送它们,以由DVHS-VCR将其记录在插入的DVHS带中。

根据本发明的一个方面,提供了一种通过包括IEEE1394的数字接口将来自PC的MP3数据存储到插入在数字录像机中的记录介质的方法,包括步骤:(a)当所述PC请求数据存储时,将所述MP3数据转换为MPEG格式的传输流;(b)将所述PC转换而成的MPEG格式的传输流传送给所述数字录像机;(c)将所述传送的MPEG格式的传输流转换成用于记录的数据格式;及(d)将所述转换的数据记录到所述记录介质中。
根据本发明的另一个方面,还提供了一种在PC中重放插入在通过包括IEEE 1394的数字接口连接的数字录像机中的记录介质中的MP3数据的方法,该方法包括步骤:(a)当所述PC请求重放数据时,重放所述记录介质中的MP3数据;(b)将所述重放数据转换为MPEG格式的传输流;及(c)把来自所述数字录像机的、经过转换的MPEG格式的传输流通过所述数字接口传送到所述PC。
根据本发明的另一个方面,还提供了一种将MP3数据从通过包括IEEE 1394的数字接口连接的PC传送到插入到数字录像机中的记录介质的方法,包括如下步骤:(a)将所述PC的所述MP3数据转换为MPEG格式的传输流;以及(b)将所述转换的MPEG格式的传输流通过所述数字接口传送到所述数字录像机。
根据本发明的另一个方面,还提供了一种在PC中重放来自插入到通过包括IEEE 1394的数字接口连接的数字录像机中的记录介质中的MP3数据的方法,该方法包括如下步骤:(a)通过所述数字接口从所述数字录像机接收MPEG格式的传输流;(b)对包含在所述MPEG格式的传输流中的MP3数据进行解码;以及(c)重放所述MP3数据或者将所述MP3数据存储在存储器中。

图2是DVHS-TVCR和PC的框图,其中使用了根据本发明的通过数字接口向/从数字录像带存储和取回数字数据的方法。图2所示的DVHS-TVCR是其中组合了D-TV的数字录像机。
DVHS-TVCR包括:用于向/从DVHS带记录/再现数字视频/音频数据的磁头31;用于模数或数模转换信号并处理它们来进行调制或解调的A/D和D/A处理器32;用于把纠错码(ECC)增加到输入数据并纠正错误的解调数据的纠错单元33;用于把数据格式从内部格式转换为TS格式或者相反进行的格式转换器34;用于把TS解码为显示数据的TS解码器36;用于把显示数据的压缩视频数据解码为视频图像信号的视频解码器38;用于把显示数据的压缩音频数据解码为真实音频信号的视频解码器39;用于将视频图像信号显示到屏幕41上的显示器40;用于接收和调谐数字广播信号的调谐器37;用于控制记录/再现和调谐操作的控制器35;用于向/从经数字通信线连接的PC发送/接收数据的接口42。
PC包括:用于向/从经数字通信线连接的DVHS-TVCR发送/接收数据的接口51;用于处理经接口单元51通信的数据以存储或转换为相应的视频/音频信号并执行操作系统和应用程序的主处理器52;用于存储处理的数据和数据文件的主存储器53和硬盘54;用于将视频信号显示到屏幕上的监视器55。

图3和图4是分别由PC和DVHS-TVCR执行的数据存储方法的流程图,首先解释图3的流程图。
当外部存储模式(S10)被设置来把运动图像数据文件或高质量的音频数据文件复制到插入DVHS-TVCR中的外部数字录像带中时,PC的主处理器52在监视器55上提供文件列表以供用户选择一个或多个文件,从硬盘54读出选择的文件的数据,把读出的数据重组为TS格式的分组(S11),之后,暂时在主存储器53中存储TS格式的分组。
此时,选择的文件的文件信息,例如包括目录名的文件名、文件大小和文件类型从诸如写在硬盘54中的FAT的文件系统中被读出并被转换为TS分组,之后被增加到文件数据的存储的分组之前或之后。
此后,在向DVHS-TVCR提出请求后主处理器52经数字接口51从DVHS-TVCR接收关于数字录像带的特征和记录状态的信息,并且在监视器55上显示接收到的信息(S12)。当基于显示的信息由用户选择视频数字带的存储位置时,主处理器52发送命令来把选择的存储位置指示给VHS-TVCR。该命令经IEEE1394通信标准的异步信道被传送到VHS-TVCR。
在发送命令后,如果从DVHS-TVCR接收到通知已完成向选择的存储位置的移动的响应信号并且用户输入了文件传送开始指令(S14),主处理器52读出存储在主存储器53中的TS分组并把它们发送到DVHS-TVCR(S15)。然后,DVHS-TVCR从接收到的TS分组中抽取文件信息TS分组,并在数字录像带中记录文件数据的TS分组。
同时,PC检查(S16)是否从DVHS-TVCR接收到存储确认信号(S16)。当所有接收到的TS分组无错误地被存储时DVHS-TVCR发送存储确认信号。存储确认信号包括接收到的文件数据所被记录的带部分的开始和结束位置。
当文件数据记录完成时,DVHS-TVCR把所记录部分的开始和结束位置以及从接收到的TS分组抽取的暂时存储的文件信息记录为带管理信息。
如果接收到存储确认信号,即所有发送的文件数据完全被存储在带的选择的位置中,PC生成或更新(S17)远程管理信息,用于管理数字录像带和记录在其中的文件,以写入接收到的关于记录部分的信息。远程管理信息使PC能检测所希望的录像带并搜索给定的文件。
现在解释图4的流程图。在DVHS-TVCR经IEEE1394接口被连接于PC的条件下(S20),当从PC接收到请求关于数字录像带的特征和记录状态的信息的信号时(S21),DVHS-TVCR扫描轨道,从带管理信息读出关于特征和记录状态的信息,然后经接口42发送(S22)读出的信息。
此后,当从PC接收到前面提到的指示数字录像带的数据记录位置的命令时(S23),DVHS-TVCR走带,使磁头31被放置在数据记录位置。当走带完成时,DVHS-TVCR发送前面提到的响应信号到PC(S24),使得PC认识到DVHS-TVCR可以接受数据,并开始发送暂时存储在主存储器53中的TS分组。
因此,DVHS-TVCR接收从PC发送来的TS分组并把它们记录在录像带中(S25)。而且,如果记录成功地完成,DVHS-TVCR发送前面提到的存储确认信号到PC(S26),并生成或更新带管理信息以写入关于刚存储的文件数据的信息(S27)。DVHS-TVCR能够利用带管理信息搜索给定的文件。
图5表示其中记录了数字数据的数字录像带的数据轨道格式的示例。主编码是主编码同步块的集合,副编码是副编码同步块的集合。各个主编码同步块具有同步符、标识符(ID)和由包(pack)构成的主数据区以及内部奇偶校验码。各个副编码同步块具有同步符、ID和由包构成的副数据区以及内部奇偶校验码。从PC接收到的TS分组被记录在包中,并且希望PC文件的带管理信息被每一副编码同步块一次地重复地记录在副数据区的包中,以用于快速检测。
在请求外部设备存储文件数据后,PC生成前面提到的远程管理信息来管理存储在外部记录器中的文件。图6表示远程管理信息的示例,该信息构成为:用于以PC文件标识录像带的带标识序号Tape_ID_NS,几个文件记录组编码和记录项。各个记录项具有的字段为:文件名File_Name、文件开始位置File_Start、文件结束位置File_End、大小File_Size、文件类型File_Type和表示文件数据是否能直接在数字电视中被显示的DTV_Activity。
并且,在文件信息被传送的同时相应文件记录组的编码值被发送到DVHS-TVCR。
图7和8分别是由PC和DVHS-TVCR执行的数据取回方法的流程图,首先解释图7的流程图。当PC操作模式被设置为外部取回模式(S30)以从插入经数字接口连接于PC的外部DVHS-TVCR中的外部数字录像带读出运动图像数据文件或高质量的音频数据文件时,读出存储在硬盘54中的象图6一样的远程管理信息,并将其显示到监视器55上(S31)。此后,如果选择了文件,主处理器52询问用户来确定选择的文件要被复制到硬盘54上还是直接被再现,并接收用户的选择(S32)。
作为从硬盘54读出图6的远程管理信息的替代,而有可能请求记录在插入于连接的DVHS-TVCR中的录像带中的带管理信息,并且如果接收到的话,在监视器55上显示该信息。
如果用户的选择是将选择的文件复制到硬盘54上,主处理器52搜索(S34)硬盘54的空白区以存储从DVHS-TVCR传送来的数据。如果有空白区,主处理器52发送包括文件名和文件记录组编码的文件请求信号到DVHS-TVCR。根据文件请求信号,如果DVHS-TVCR发送属于所选择文件的TS分组,主处理器52接收它们并将包含在它们中的数据存储到空白区中。
当发送文件请求信号时,作为提供文件名给DVHS-TVCR的替代,而可能提供写入在远程管理信息中的所选择文件的开始位置和结束位置,以便DVHS-TVCR可以指定记录在录像带中的文件中的一个文件。
在接收的文件数据被存储在硬盘54上后,主处理器52更新硬盘54的文件信息。同时如果用户的选择不是文件复制而是文件再现,主处理器52读出并执行(S36)对应于选择的文件类型的解码程序。解码程序对包含在来自DVHS-TVCR的TS分组中的数据解码并在监视器55上输出解码的运动图像(S37)。
现在解释图8的流程图。在DVHS-TVCR经IEEE1394接口被连接于PC的条件下(S40),当从PC接收到请求关于数字录像带的特征和记录状态的信息的信号时(S41),DVHS-TVCR扫描轨道,读出重复记录在录像带上的带管理信息,然后发送读出的信息到PC(S42)。此后,如果从PC接收到文件请求信号(S43),DVHS-TVCR基于接收到的文件名和带管理信息搜索请求的文件的数据位置。
当找到数据位置时,DVHS-TVCR发送再现就绪信号(S44)到PC并进入备用模式(S45)。在备用模式中,当从PC接收到文件传送信号时(S46),DVHS-TVCR从录像带上的数据位置再现所记录的信号,将再现信号恢复为TS分组,并将它们发送到PC(S47)。
根据上面解释的经数字接口彼此连接的PC与DVHS-TVCR之间的相互操作,诸如MOV、MPEG和RA类型的运动图像数据或诸如MP3类型的高质量音乐数据文件被向/从具有海量存储量的外部数字录像带存储或取回。
用于经数字接口向/从录像机的带式记录介质存储和取回PC的数字数据的方法使得其价格远低于硬盘的具有海量存储量的数字录像带被用作经数字通信线连接的PC的辅助存储设备,从而满足日益增长的对多媒体文件的大存储容量的需求。
本发明在不脱离其精神和实质特性的情况下可以其它特定形式体现。本实施例在各方面考虑都是为图示目的而非进行限制,本发明的范围由后附权利要求所表示,而不是由前述的描述表示,在权利要求的意义和等同范围内的所有变化因此都被包括在其中。
Claims (5)
1.一种通过包括IEEE1394的数字接口将来自PC的MP3数据存储到插入在数字录像机中的记录介质的方法,包括步骤:
(a)当所述PC请求数据存储时,将所述MP3数据转换为MPEG格式的传输流;
(b)将所述PC转换而成的MPEG格式的传输流传送给所述数字录像机;
(c)将所述传送的MPEG格式的传输流转换成用于记录的数据格式;及
(d)将所述转换的数据记录到所述记录介质中。
2.根据权利要求1的方法,还包括创建和记录管理信息的步骤,该管理信息与在所述记录介质中的、所述传送的MPEG格式的传输流有关。
3.一种在PC中重放插入在通过包括IEEE1394的数字接口连接的数字录像机中的记录介质中的MP3数据的方法,该方法包括步骤:
(a)当所述PC请求重放数据时,重放所述记录介质中的MP3数据;
(b)将所述重放数据转换为MPEG格式的传输流;及
(c)把来自所述数字录像机的、经过转换的MPEG格式的传输流通过所述数字接口传送到所述PC。
4.一种将MP3数据从通过包括IEEE1394的数字接口连接的PC传送到插入到数字录像机中的记录介质的方法,包括如下步骤:
(a)将所述PC的所述MP3数据转换为MPEG格式的传输流;以及
(b)将所述转换的MPEG格式的传输流通过所述数字接口传送到所述数字录像机。
5.一种在PC中重放来自插入到通过包括IEEE1394的数字接口连接的数字录像机中的记录介质中的MP3数据的方法,该方法包括如下步骤:
(a)通过所述数字接口从所述数字录像机接收MPEG格式的传输流;
(b)对包含在所述MPEG格式的传输流中的MP3数据进行解码;以及
(c)重放所述MP3数据或者将所述MP3数据存储在存储器中。
