and 5, screening the crude cat litter prepared in the step 4, and removing unqualified products to obtain the cereal puffed cat litter.
Because the cat likes to eat cat litter, most cat litter products on the market are added with substances such as nondigestible bentonite, silica gel and the like, and the cat litter has great influence on the health of the cat. In view of this, the present invention is directed to the development of a cereal expanded litter that not only has very strong water-absorbing agglomerating, deodorizing properties, but is also harmless to the health of cats.
First, cereal starch has poor water absorption compared to bentonite and silica gel. Therefore, the corn starch is selected as the water absorbing material and modified to enhance the water absorption. Firstly, the porous corn starch is prepared by adopting an enzymolysis method, after the corn starch is subjected to enzymolysis, starch particles form a porous structure, and as the enzymolysis degree is deepened, the starch particles gradually form a hollow structure, and the inner particles expose more active groups, so that the water absorption of the corn starch is greatly improved. The porous corn starch is added into the cat litter, so that the water absorption capacity of the cat litter can be compared with most products containing bentonite and silica gel. However, porous corn starch, although excellent in water absorption, is used as an additive, and the prepared cat litter has poor caking property and deodorizing effect. Thus, the present invention further modifies porous corn starch. The invention carries out oxidation treatment on the porous corn starch, and discovers that the gelatinization temperature of the porous corn starch after the oxidation treatment is reduced, the bonding performance is enhanced, and the cat litter agglomeration can be effectively promoted. In addition, the invention also discovers that the porous corn starch after oxidation treatment is beneficial to grafting modification of chitosan.
The chitosan has the characteristics of swelling, diffusion, adsorption, water retention and other chain sugar molecules, and the dissolved chitosan is in a gel state and has stronger adsorption capacity. The chitosan contains polar groups such as hydroxyl, amino and the like, has strong hygroscopicity, the moisture absorption rate of the chitin can reach 400% -500%, is more than twice that of cellulose, has stronger hygroscopicity than that of the chitin, and can be used as a humectant of cosmetics. Therefore, the chitosan is selected to be used for modifying the porous corn starch, so that the water absorbability of the porous corn starch can be further enhanced, and the amino groups, the hydroxyl groups and other groups on the surface of the chitosan have strong adsorption effects on odor factors in cat excreta, such as ammonia gas, hydrogen sulfide and the like, and can play a good role in deodorization. The porous corn starch is oxidized firstly, so that a large amount of aldehyde groups are generated by the porous corn starch, and under the acidic condition, the aldehyde groups are combined with amino groups of chitosan to form stronger binding force, so that the chitosan is convenient to graft.
Still further, the invention uses octenyl succinic anhydride as a cross-linking agent to treat the porous corn starch again, so as to enhance the adsorption capacity of the porous corn starch on oily molecules. Because the molecules which emit odor in the cat excrement also contain aliphatic compounds such as indole, skatole and the like, and the porous corn starch with fewer hydrophobic groups has poorer adsorption performance on the aliphatic compounds, the porous corn starch is treated again, the hydrophobic groups of the porous corn starch are increased, and a better odor removing effect is obtained. In addition, the octenyl succinic anhydride is also beneficial to the adsorption of the porous corn starch on the plant antibacterial deodorant.
The porous corn starch subjected to a series of modification treatments is used as the additive of the cat litter, so that the cat litter has excellent water absorption, agglomeration and deodorization effects. The invention further tries to treat the porous modified corn starch with a plant ash solution, and as the plant ash contains a large amount of potassium carbonate, part of carbon dioxide gas is released by the hydrolysis of the potassium carbonate, so that the volume of the cat litter is expanded, and more moisture is absorbed.
The invention has the beneficial effects that:
the mosquito repellent is introduced into the invention, so that on one hand, the peculiar smell is improved, and on the other hand, the mosquitoes and flies are repelled, and the living environment and mood of people are improved. The invention takes bentonite and polyethylene glycol as raw materials to prepare porous bentonite through high-temperature calcination, the porous bentonite is placed in essential oil for standing, the essential oil is adsorbed, the essence is fixed in the porous structure of the porous bentonite, then polylactic acid, hydrolyzed protein and pregelatinized starch are adopted to embed the bentonite loaded with the essential oil, the problem of volatile essential oil is solved, the slow release of the essential oil is prolonged, the mosquito repelling effect is improved, and the air is fresh.

Example 7
Substantially the same as in example 6, the only difference is that: the preparation method of the mosquito repellent comprises the following steps of:
(1) Preparing porous bentonite: uniformly mixing 8 parts of bentonite, 2 parts of polyethylene glycol and 20 parts of water, and then drying to obtain pretreated bentonite; heating the pretreated bentonite to 550 ℃ and calcining for 1h, cooling to room temperature, crushing and sieving with a 150-mesh sieve to obtain porous bentonite;

(3) Adding amino modified bentonite into 15 parts of essential oil, uniformly mixing, standing for 90min, centrifuging to obtain precipitate, washing, and drying to obtain bentonite loaded with essential oil; adding bentonite loaded with essential oil into 100 parts of water, and uniformly mixing to obtain bentonite dispersion liquid loaded with essential oil; adding 3 parts of polylactic acid, 2 parts of hydrolyzed protein and 2 parts of pregelatinized starch into 100 parts of water, and uniformly mixing to obtain a polylactic acid-hydrolyzed protein-starch mixed solution; and uniformly mixing bentonite dispersion liquid loaded with essential oil with polylactic acid-hydrolyzed protein-starch mixed liquid, adding 3 parts of cross-linking agent, heating to 45 ℃ for reaction for 2 hours, centrifuging to remove precipitate after the reaction is finished, washing and drying to obtain the mosquito repellent.

Test example 1
Water absorption multiple test
An appropriate amount of distilled water was added to a vessel, and then a porous ceramic plate was put in, ensuring that the upper surface of the porous ceramic plate was 6mm above the water surface in the experiment. Placing medium speed qualitative filter paper with diameter of 11cm in distilled water for 30s to allow it to fully absorb water and saturate for completely soaking, placing on porous ceramic plate, balancing water for 60min, weighing the filter paper with mass of W 0 . 2g of the cat litter prepared in each of the examples and comparative examples was weighed and uniformly sprinkled on wet filter paper. After 2h of rest, the wet filter paper and wet bentonite are carefully removed and weighed as W on a balance.
The water absorption of bentonite is calculated according to the following formula:
water absorption multiple= (W-W) 0 -m)/m
Wherein:
w-wet filter paper and wet bentonite mass (g);
W 0 -wet filter paper mass (g);
m-mass of dry bentonite sample (g).
Table 1: water absorption multiple test results
Water absorption multiple
Example 1 2.74
Example 2 3.14
Example 3 4.36
Example 4 4.91
Example 5 5.12
Comparative example 1 1.02
As can be seen from Table 1, the cat litter of comparative example 1, to which no porous corn starch was added, had the worst water absorption and the water absorption multiple of only 1.02. However, the cat litter added with the porous corn starch in example 1 has significantly improved water absorption, because the corn starch forms a porous structure after enzymolysis, the starch particles gradually form a hollow structure with the deepening of the enzymolysis degree, and the inner particles expose more active groups, so that the water absorption is greatly improved. The water absorption coefficient of the cat litter prepared in example 2 is slightly higher than that of the cat litter prepared in example 1, because the porous corn starch prepared in example 2 is treated by the plant ash solution, the plant ash is considered to contain a large amount of potassium carbonate, and part of carbon dioxide gas is released by the hydrolysis of the potassium carbonate, so that the cat litter is expanded in volume, and more water is absorbed. The water absorption multiple of the cat litter prepared in the example 3 is higher than that of the cat litter prepared in the example 2, because the porous corn starch is grafted by chitosan in the example 3, the chitosan has the characteristics of swelling, diffusing, adsorbing, retaining water and other long-chain sugar molecules, and the dissolved chitosan is in a gel state and has stronger adsorption capacity. Therefore, the chitosan is selected to be used for modifying the porous corn starch, so that the water absorption of the porous corn starch can be further enhanced. The water absorption multiple of the cat litter prepared in the example 4 is higher than that of the cat litter prepared in the example 3, because the porous corn starch is oxidized in the example 4 and then grafted with chitosan, and the porous corn starch is oxidized to generate a large amount of aldehyde groups, and the aldehyde groups are combined with the amino groups of the chitosan under the acidic condition to form a strong binding force, so that the chitosan is convenient to graft. The cat litter prepared in example 5 has a higher water absorption than that of example 4 because the porous corn starch is treated again with octenyl succinic anhydride as a cross-linking agent in example 5, and the octenyl succinic anhydride chemical modification increases the molecular weight of the modified starch, but the hydrophobic effect at low substitution degree is not significant, but the micropores may be increased to cause the water absorption to increase.
Test example 2
Ammonia removal effect test
5mg/L of simulated ammonia-nitrogen wastewater is taken, cat litter prepared in each example and comparative example is added according to the proportion of 60g/L, and after standing for 30min at room temperature, the supernatant is taken to determine the ammonia-nitrogen concentration (mg/L) in the solution.
Table 2: ammonia removal test results
Ammonia nitrogen concentration (mg/L)
Example 1 3.51
Example 2 3.44
Example 3 1.98
Example 4 1.65
Example 5 0.72
Comparative example 1 4.42
As can be seen from Table 2, after adsorption of the cat litter prepared in comparative example 1, the ammonia nitrogen content in the solution is highest, which indicates that the adsorption amount of the cat litter to ammonia nitrogen is extremely low without adding porous corn starch, while after adding porous corn starch in example 1, the adsorption effect of the prepared cat litter to ammonia nitrogen is slightly improved, because the porous structure gives good adsorption to the cat litter, and the corn starch exposes some active groups in the enzymolysis process, which is beneficial to adsorption of ammonia nitrogen. The ammonia nitrogen adsorption performance of the cat litter prepared in the example 3 is obviously higher than that of the cat litter prepared in the examples 1 and 2, and the cat litter has a good deodorizing effect due to the fact that the amino groups, the hydroxyl groups and other groups on the surface of the chitosan have a strong adsorption effect on odor factors in cat excrement, such as ammonia gas, hydrogen sulfide and the like. The ammonia nitrogen adsorption performance of the cat litter prepared in the example 4 is slightly higher than that of the cat litter prepared in the example 3, because the porous corn starch is firstly subjected to oxidation treatment, so that the porous corn starch generates a large amount of aldehyde groups, the aldehyde groups are combined with amino groups of chitosan under an acidic condition to form stronger binding force, the chitosan is convenient to graft, and the chitosan grafting rate of the porous modified corn starch prepared in the example 4 is higher. The ammonia nitrogen adsorption performance of the cat litter prepared in the example 5 is slightly higher than that of the cat litter prepared in the example 4, because the octenyl succinic anhydride is used as a cross-linking agent to treat the porous corn starch again, and the anhydride group contained in the cat litter has good ammonia nitrogen adsorption performance.
Test example 3
200 culex tired; and (3) sealing a transparent container: 40cm by 30cm; as the culex tiredness is loved to suck blood mosquito species at night, the laboratory is dark and light-proof during the test, and the closed container is covered by black cloth. 10g of cat litter prepared in each of examples 6-7 was taken and simultaneously put into two closed containers each filled with 100 culex tired. The test conditions were observed at 10h, respectively, and the number of mosquitoes flying in the closed container was counted.
Mosquito repellent effect= (100-number of mosquitoes flying in closed container) ×100%.
