3. A surface cleaning apparatus as claimed in claim 2, wherein the valve (111) comprises a resilient member; the resilient member is configured to provide a resilient force such that the valve (111) returns to a closed state after the first connector (203) is separated from the first port (108).

The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 1, wherein the main housing (10) defines a main brushroll chamber (102) having a lower portion with a first opening (115), the first opening (115) facing the surface to be cleaned, the main brushroll (104) being mounted within the main brushroll chamber (102), the lower portion of the main brushroll (104) extending from the first opening (115) and being in contact with the surface to be cleaned; the side brush comprises a side brush shell (201), wherein a side brush roller chamber (209) with a second opening (2013) is formed in the lower portion of the side brush shell (201), a mounting plate (2011) is arranged at one side end portion of the side brush shell (201), an opening (2012) communicated with the side brush roller chamber (209) is formed in the other side end portion of the side brush shell, the second opening (2013) is communicated with the opening (2012), one end portion of the side brush roller (205) in the axial direction is exposed to the outside of the side brush shell (201) through the opening (2012), the other end portion of the side brush roller (205) in the axial direction is rotatably supported on the mounting plate (2011), the lower portion of the side brush roller (205) extends out of the second opening (2013), and the first opening (115), the main brush roller chamber (102), the first suction nozzle (106) and the sewage recovery tank (4) are communicated with each other in an axial direction, and the second suction nozzle (2013) is communicated with the opening (2012).
5. The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 1, wherein the axis of rotation of the main brush roller (104) is collinear with the axis of rotation of the side brush roller (205) when the detachable side brush module (20) is attached to the main housing (10).
6. The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 1, wherein the length of the edge brush roll (205) is less than 1/2 the length of the main brush roll (104).
7. The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 1, wherein a locking mechanism (30) is disposed between the main housing (10) and the removable side brush module (20).
