Description
Technical Field
The present invention relates to cosmetic compositions. In particular, the present invention relates to cosmetic compositions for caring for keratin materials.
Background
The skin is a protective barrier for the human body. It protects the interior of the body from physical (e.g. trauma) and biological (e.g. bacterial, viral or fungal) damage.
The skin is composed of several layers of cells that coat and protect the underlying tissue. Keratin and collagen fibrin form the skeleton of the skin structure. The outermost of these layers is called the stratum corneum.
The development of formulations aimed at caring for the skin has been long-lasting.
To date, some prior art documents have been published relating to cosmetic compositions comprising cosmetically active ingredients, such as skin whitening agents and anti-ageing agents.
JP-A-2011-73992 discloses cA composition comprising the following components (A) to (F): (A)10-50 parts by weight of one or more polyglyceryl fatty acid esters having an HLB of 10-18, obtained from polyglycerols and fatty acids having 8-22 carbon atoms; (B)1-30 parts by weight of one or more fatty acid monoglycerides obtained from glycerol and a fatty acid having 8-22 carbon atoms; (C)0.1-30 parts by weight of an oil in liquid form at 25 ℃; (D)10-35 parts by weight of a polyol; (E)5-40 parts by weight of water; and (F)0.01 to 10 parts by weight of ceramide.
WO 2005/065630a1 discloses single phase microemulsion compositions comprising (a) a hydrophilic nonionic surfactant; (B) a lipophilic nonionic surfactant; (C) an oil; (D) an oil-immiscible aqueous solvent in which the critical micelle concentration (c.m.c) of the hydrophilic nonionic surfactant is higher than that in water; and (E) water.
WO 2004/045566 discloses a translucent cosmetic composed of an O/W emulsion, which comprises (a) a ceramide, (b) an oil component, (c) a nonionic surfactant, and (d) water, and has an average particle diameter of 100 to 300 nm.
However, with many cosmetic compositions containing cosmetic active ingredients for the care of keratin materials, the active ingredients contained are difficult to penetrate into the keratin material.
For cosmetic compositions containing cosmetically active ingredients, penetration of the active ingredient through the skin is one of the most important properties.
Researchers have found that some polymers with porous structures are beneficial for penetration of some active ingredients. However, no cosmetic composition exists: the active ingredient contained in the cosmetic composition can permeate into keratin materials and the cosmetic composition is stable and exhibits good skin feeling.
Thus, there is a need for such cosmetic compositions.
Summary of The Invention
It is an object of the present invention to provide cosmetic compositions for the care of keratin materials which have improved penetration properties of the cosmetic active, are stable and present a good skin feel.
The inventors have found that such a purpose can be achieved by a unique combination of two specific glues.
Thus, according to one aspect, the present invention relates to a cosmetic composition for caring for keratin materials, comprising, in an aqueous phase, gellan gum and at least one linear or branched C1-C6Hydroxyalkyl modified non-ionic guar wherein the weight ratio of gellan gum to non-ionic guar is from 1:1 to 1: 20.
Preferably, the composition according to the invention does not contain any metal ion donor.
According to another aspect, the present invention also relates to a cosmetic process for caring for keratin materials, comprising the application to the keratin materials of a cosmetic composition according to the invention.
Other subjects and features, aspects and advantages of the present invention will appear even more clearly on reading the following detailed description and examples.
