A cocoon picking method for picking a silkworm cocoon on a cocooning frame by using the cocoon picking apparatus as claimed in claim 1, comprising the steps of: a. placing the paper cocooning frame between two conveying belts for conveying forwards, blowing air to the paper cocooning frame by an air curtain slot hole to form an air curtain, and rotating a silk removing rotating shaft; b. conveying the cocooning frames to the lower part of the air blowing seat, and blowing the cocoons on the cocooning frames downwards by an air curtain blown from the air curtain slotted holes; c. conveying the paper cocooning frame above a silk removing rotating shaft, and winding and removing residual silk remained on the paper cocooning frame by rotating the silk removing rotating shaft; the wire winding thimble extends out of the outer wall of the wire removing rotating shaft and is used for winding residual wires, the pushing plate periodically moves from the wire collecting groove to the other end, the pushing plate moves and then moves towards the pushing plate under the action of the positioning spring, so that the pushing plug moves, the pushing surface is separated from the end of the wire winding thimble, the wire winding thimble retracts into the wire removing rotating shaft under the action of the return spring, and the residual wires wound on the wire winding thimble are separated; the pushing plate continues to move to push out the residual wires on the outer wall of the wire removing rotating shaft and in the wire collecting groove outwards, then the pushing plate returns, and the wire winding thimble returns; d. the checker cocooning frame continues to be conveyed forward and out of the conveyor belt.
