EXAMPLE 3 application of the Chinese medicinal composition
20 white poodle dogs with the age of 20 months are selected and bred in a single cage, epidemic prevention and disinfection of a dog house are carried out according to a conventional epidemic prevention program, insects are repelled before an experiment, and free food intake and drinking are carried out in a one-week pre-test period. After the test formally starts, the test is randomly divided into 4 groups according to the principle of similar constitutions, each group is 5, the sex proportion is the same, and the 4 groups are respectively control groups (basic daily ration); 0.5% of the experimental group (0.5% of the herbal preparation prepared in example 1 was added to the basal diet); 0.8% of the experimental group (0.8% of the herbal preparation prepared in example 1 was added to the basal diet); 1.1% of the experimental group (1.1% of the herbal preparation prepared in example 1 was added to the basal diet). The test period is 30 days, the food is fed for 3 times every day, and the food and the water are taken freely. The dogs were observed for abnormal behavioral and mental status changes while being fed daily. Recording whether secretion exists in the mouth, nose, eyes and ears, the body temperature, the skin fur, the excrement and the like. Because no recognized quantitative index is used for evaluating the quality of the pet fur, the test is intended to evaluate the brightness and the sense of beauty of the pet dog fur by taking the brightness and the softness score as quality indexes. The brightness takes natural light as a light source and the brightness of the quilt cover as a standard; the softness is comprehensively judged according to the consistency of the appearance direction and the hand feeling of the quilt wool; all measured in 10 points, the lighter and more pliable the quilt, the higher the score.
The test result shows that the dog has no abnormal behavior and physiological sign change in the experimental process. The skin and hair properties of the dogs in the experimental groups are basically stable by about 25 days. The brightness of the three test groups is respectively improved by 0.4, 1.1 and 1.2 compared with the brightness of the quilt wool of the control group, and the softness of the quilt wool is respectively improved by 0.4, 1.0 and 1.1. The same part of the back of the dog is cut off, 10 needles are randomly selected, washed, dried and fixed, scanning electron microscope observation and photographing are carried out by taking the characteristic of scales in the middle of the needles as the key point, and the result shows that the control group dog only has irregular arrangement and cracks of the scales, slightly raised edges and denudation phenomena, and the dog fed with the traditional Chinese medicine additive has complete and regular arrangement of the scales and smooth surface. The result shows that the Chinese herbal medicine additive has no toxic or side effect on the health of dogs, can ensure the regularity and integrity of the small cortex of the dog hair, and improve the brightness and the smoothness of the hair.
