The invention provides a dust suppressant for greening and a preparation method and application thereof, and relates to the technical field of environmental protection. The dust suppressant is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by mass: 25-30 parts of sesbania gum, 45-55 parts of a water-retaining agent, 450-550 parts of bentonite, 25-35 parts of grass seeds and 9000-11000 parts of water. The dust suppressant provided by the invention not only can play a role in suppressing dust, but also can improve the germination rate of grass seeds, the germination rate is as high as 95%, and the grass seeds are easy to survive and stably grow.
