The cats are four-season heat animals, and have the characteristics of short interval and long heat period, so that a great deal of trouble is brought to pets. To this end, pet owners typically choose to sterilize cats to block estrus. However, there is a problem of obesity following sterilization of cats. By referring to the relevant literature, it is stated in the "dog and cat sterilization" (Yang loyalty et al, Sichuan stockbreeding veterinarian [ J ], 2019, 46 (02): 49-51) that in order to prevent obesity in sterilized cats, one can start with the following aspects: reducing fat content, wherein the fat content of the daily ration of sterilized cats is limited, and the fat content of the cat food is not more than 18% (on a dry matter basis); secondly, the fiber content is increased, the energy concentration of food can be reduced by the dilution effect of the fiber, the emptying rate of the stomach can be reduced by the soluble fiber, so that animals feel full, in addition, the fiber can also increase the stomach expansion time and strength of cats, and the stomach expansion can stimulate the release of cholecystokinin to influence the appetite of dogs and cats; ③ increasing the protein content, and in order to prevent obesity, the protein content of the cat food is more than 35 percent.
The following information can be obtained through the research progress of nutritive value, functional characteristics and products of quinoa (Liuyueyuyao, etc., packaging engineering, 2020, 41 (05): 56-65) and the comparative analysis of nutritive components of 7 different varieties of quinoa (Chengxing, Jing, etc., food industry science and technology, 2020): quinoa is used as a unique whole-grain whole-nutrition complete-protein alkaline food, the endosperm accounts for 68% of seeds, the nutrient content is higher than that of most grains, and the quinoa is generally called as 'super food' and has the characteristics of high protein, low fat, low sugar, rich mineral elements, good dietary fiber and the like. Wherein, the weight percentage of the protein in the quinoa of different varieties is 13.81-21.9%, and the content and the quality of the quinoa protein can be comparable with the skimmed milk and meat to a certain extent; the fatty acid composition of the quinoa shows that omega-3 fatty acid accounts for a large proportion in quinoa grease, and has the characteristics of reducing blood fat and relaxing blood vessels; quinoa is also a low fructose and glucose index food, blood sugar is not obviously increased after the quinoa is eaten, and the quinoa can play a beneficial role in the body glycolipid metabolism process; the quinoa is rich in mineral substances such as potassium, magnesium and the like, can improve the dietary structure and effectively reduce the blood pressure; the percentage of the total dietary fiber in the quinoa is 10%, the dietary fiber in the quinoa consists of xylan and pectic polysaccharide, is a biological macromolecule with more hydrophilic groups, has good water absorption performance, low calorie and easy satiety, and can reduce the food intake. The several characteristics of quinoa perfectly correspond to the three aspects mentioned above for preventing the obesity of the sterilized cats, so that the addition of quinoa to cat food is beneficial to the weight loss of the sterilized cats.
