发明内容
已经发现通过根据本发明在包装材料的表面上提供微图案,可得到若干优点。已经发现微图案对运行性和基材的表面摩擦有影响,其与包装转化和填充线(filling line)中的材料性能相关。
还已经发现根据本发明得到的微图案化的材料具有快速释放性质,即易于从材料(或包装)表面释放粘性产品的特性。可更容易地排空具有经处理的内表面的包装并且所包装的产品的残留物不会留在包装壁上。
此外,已经发现通过在杯子或其一部分的内表面上提供微图案可控制或完全防止起泡的量,例如当倾倒在杯子中时碳酸饮料的起泡的量。另外,使用根据本发明得到的微图案可改进杯子的侧缝或边卷(rim roll)(在为杯子加盖的过程中)的密封性。
更特别地,还已经发现可在不需要使所涉及的基材的表面层完全熔化的情况下产生微图案。在本发明的一个实施方式中,在没有加热基材的表面层的情况下产生微图案,即微图案在室温产生。
因此,本公开内容的目标是提供制造在其表面上具有微图案并且可用于生产包装的材料的改进的方法。所生产的材料及其用途也是本发明的目标。
可通过以物理方式处理基材表面来产生微图案。通过向其上待产生微图案的材料的表面施加力或压(压力)来对基材实施物理处理。
如本文中所使用的术语微图案是指表面上的图案,其可为规则的或不规则的且其中凹槽的深度或凸起的区域的高度为1-100μm,比如2至80μm或2至50μm。图案的形状和深度取决于应用和目标性质,但典型地使用具有各种周期和尺寸的平行的凹槽和盲孔。

根据本发明的第一方面,提供在包装材料的表面上制备微图案的方法,包括以下步骤:
a)提供其上待产生微图案的基材;
b)通过使所述基材经受力或压来对基材进行处理以产生微图案;其中当通过力或压处理所述基材以得到所述微图案时,所述基材处于非熔化的状态;并且其中在基材上产生的所述微图案反映(mirror)了施加力或压的表面的微图案。
在一个实施方式中,力或压通过一对成形表面产生。在一个实施方式中,每个成形表面被成型为圆柱形或锥形。
在本发明的一个实施方式中,使用一对成形圆柱体(旋转模具,图1)产生微图案。
根据本发明的在其表面上具有微图案的包装材料可为例如纸产品、板、膜或层压物。

具体实施方式
使用现有技术中已知的方法制造在其上待提供微图案的基材。
在本发明的一个实施方式中,使用一对成形圆柱体(旋转模具,还称作成形模具,图1)产生微图案。
成形模具典型地包括平滑辊和图案化辊,两者都安装在框架上(图1)。旋转的辊形成了待被处理的基材从中通过并且微图案从辊表面转移至基材上的辊隙(nip)。处理的强度由可调节的辊隙力(FN,夹持力)确定,基于基材材料性质选择所述辊隙力。辊隙力典型地为10N/mm2至30N/m2。辊温度(T1和T2)可进行调节以增强微图案的产生。例如,升高的辊温度引起聚合物涂层(涂料)的软化,因此使其更易成形。因此,可降低辊隙力以保护在其上提供微图案的基底板的完整性。然而,可对升高的温度进行选择使得基材的全部部分都保持在非熔化的状态。典型地,升高的温度小于基材的表面聚合物的玻璃化转变温度(Tg)。因此,整个基材都处于非熔化的状态。优选地,通过加热但不熔化来使聚合物涂层软化。
可按需要增加辊的直径以扩大辊隙中受到压的区域(面积)。还可通过设置一系列的多个连续的成形模具在多个阶段中产生微图案。如果期望的是在材料的两个面上的微图案,则成形模具的两个辊都可被图案化。平滑圆柱体还可具有柔软的表面层,如果待被微图案化的材料需要的话。
可以若干种不同方式在辊上提供微图案(图2)。例如,可以以下方式形成微图案:在实际的辊(a)的表面上、在围绕辊(b)的钢板上或在夹持至辊(c)的区段上。可使用激光雕刻、高精度加工和化学铣削在模具表面上产生微图案。增材制造(AM)的方法比如烧结和3D打印也适合于该应用。
用于产生微图案的辊典型地为圆柱体形式。替代地,辊可具有锥形形状,这使其可应用于例如制备杯纸、纸板板材,其具有待用于杯子制造工艺中的弯曲的形状。这些辊隙中的锥形辊会例如从底部至顶部边缘将线型的表面微图案制备在饮用杯子的壁中。由于锥形的形状,顶部边缘的圆形长度大于底部边缘圆形长度。因此,会需要在杯子板材的顶部区域加入额外的微图案化的线,从而以与底部区域相同的图案表面密度覆盖整个表面。盲点类型的图案或其他非方向性(圆形形状)微图案会填满(fulfil)所有图案化的表面区域,不存在任何由纸板板材的形状产生的几何定位的问题。
如果这些线仅沿机器方向被制备,即作为直线,则包装的折叠可能改变微图案化的线在最终包装中的方向。为了避免该问题,可使用圆形微图案,或微图案可存在于在辊的表面区域中在成形时(into the formation),其会以确保材料以有效的方式流出最终包装所需要的正确方向将全部的定向的线形的微图案制备在覆盖层(blanket)中。以正确方向定位的微图案线成形将有助于材料从最终包装的壁的释放并且易于通过例如倾倒区域或移除盖子时产生的孔流出。
根据本发明的方法可例如在用于包装材料的液体包装机、制杯机、托盘成形机或其他3D成形设备的坯料进料/材料进料步骤的开始时实施。另外,实施根据本发明的方法所需要的设备可被设置在靠近或甚至整合在其他设备或机器中,比如脱线涂布机(off-coater line)、挤出涂布线(extrusion coating line)、造纸机和纸板机等。根据本发明的方法是可缩放的(可扩展的)且可容易地适用于在包装的制造中使用的现有的方法和设备中。

Claims (12)

1.制备在材料的至少一面上具有微图案的包装材料的方法,包括以下步骤:
a)提供其上待产生微图案的基材;
b)通过使所述基材经受力或压来对基材进行处理以产生微图案;其中当通过力或压处理所述基材以得到所述微图案时,所述基材处于非熔化的状态;并且其中在基材上产生的所述微图案反映了施加力或压的表面的微图案。
2.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中力或压通过一对成形表面产生。
3.根据权利要求2所述的方法,其中每个成形表面被成型为圆柱形或锥形。
4.根据权利要求1-3中任一项所述的方法,其中基材为纸产品、板、膜或层压物。
5.根据权利要求1-4中任一项所述的方法,其中所述基材在步骤b)中的温度低于所述基材的表面上存在的任意一种或多种聚合物的玻璃化转变温度。
6.根据权利要求1-5中任一项所述的方法,其中所述微图案是规则的或不规则的且其中所述微图案的凹槽的深度或凸起的区域的高度为1-100μm,比如2至80μm或2至50μm。
7.根据权利要求1-6中任一项所述的方法,其中其上产生微图案的基材的表面已经通过加热被软化,但当产生微图案时仍是非熔化的状态。
8.根据权利要求1-7中任一项的方法可得到的包装材料。
9.由根据权利要求8所述的包装材料制造的产品。
10.根据权利要求9所述的产品,其中所述产品是用于液体的包装。
11.根据权利要求9所述的产品,其中所述产品是杯子。
12.根据权利要求9所述的产品,其中所述产品是托盘。
