Description
技术领域
本发明涉及一种多层光学记录设备,如视盘(video disk)或CD盘(compact disk)。更具体地说,涉及一种其第一反射层的反射率被改进的具有多层光盘结构的多层光学记录设备。
背景技术
图1是表示传统光盘结构的示意图。传统光盘由诸如聚甲基丙烯酸甲酯(PMMA)或聚碳酸酯(PC)的透明树脂材料构成并具有层叠的结构,该结构包括一个有预定坑型(pit pattern)的透明基片10、一个通过采用蒸镀法,如溅射,在透明基片10上沉积金属而形成的反射膜12,和一个在反射膜12上形成的保护膜14。这里,反射膜12与透明基片10的坑型具有相同的形状。
由以上结构,信息,即反射膜12的坑型通过光学方法被读取。
但上述传统光盘结构有一个缺点,即光盘的容量不足,不能存储需较大容量的信息,如视频和音频信息。
因此,建议采用多层光盘结构作为一种生成较大容量的办法。这里提出了各反射层的反射系数互不相同的多层记录再现光盘结构(Phillps申请的美国专利4,450,553号),及用硅作为第一反射层,铝作为第二反射层的多层光盘结构(Pioneer申请的美国专利5,126,996号)。参照图2和图3,将介绍这些传统多层光盘的结构。
图2表示Phillps光盘的结构。
该光盘包括一个由大约1mm的厚PVC片制成的透明基片20,一个经紫外线处理的在透明基片20上形成的第一树脂层22,一个在第一树脂层22上形成的第一反射膜24,一个在第一反射膜24上形成的第一附着层26,一个由大约0.15mm的厚PVC片制成的在第一附着层26上形成的间隔片28,一个在间隔片28上形成的第二附着层30,一个在第二附着层30上形成的第二反射膜32,一个经紫外线处理的在第二反射膜32上形成的第二树脂层34,以及一个在第二树脂层34上形成的透明PVC片36。
第一反射膜24通过第一附着层26粘附到间隔片28上,而且第二反射膜32通过第二附着层30粘附到间隔片28上。
如上的传统光盘具有至少两层的光学反射结构。在每一光学反射结构中,各反射层构置为具有彼此不同的反射系数。自反射膜反射的光越强,读取记录在反射膜上的信息越容易。而且,入射光与反射光的比率取决于光学结构的层数。在图2中所示的两层光学反射结构的情况下,第一反射膜24由,例如由介质材料组成,以便透射光源射出的部分光束(λ)。在这样的结构中,需要有适当数量级的反射率以准确读取第一、第二反射膜24、32上存储的信息。优选第一反射膜24的反射率为25-40%,第二反射膜32的反射率为45-100%。
由于上述的光盘结构形成了两个以上的光学反射层,因此可得到比传统光盘多二倍的信息存储容量。但由于光盘结构具有由树脂层、附着层、和间隔片组成的多层结构,因此在生产过程中存在着问题。
图3示出了Pioneer光盘结构。
该多层光盘具有如下组成的结构,一个如传统情况中一样由如PMMA或PC材料构成的透明基片50,一个在透明基片上形成的第一反射膜52,一个粘附第一反射膜52到第二反射膜56的附着层54,即第二反射膜56通过附着层粘附到第一反射膜52,以及一个在第二反射膜56上形成的保护膜58。这里,第一反射膜52由硅制成且第二反射膜56由铝制成。
由以上结构,光源发出的光束的第一波长(λ1)被第一反射膜反射,第二波长(λ2)则被透射。第二反射膜至少反射一部分该第二波长(λ2)。当读取第一反射膜上的信息时,使用由第一反射膜反射的第一波长(λ1)。当读取第二反射膜上的信息时,使用第一反射膜透射,第二反射膜反射的第二波长(λ2)。即在以上结构中,一定波长的光线透射过第一反射膜(硅层),而被第二反射膜(铝层)反射。因此,每层的信息可通过不同波长的光束被读取。
根据以上的光盘结构,该结构简单且易于制造。但读取某层的信息时要使用与读取另一层的另一光线不同波长的光线,而激光二极管作为一般光源只生成单一的波长,因此需要与层数相当的激光二极管,这样再现装置变得复杂了。
发明内容
本发明的一个目的是解决以上问题以提供一种多层光学记录装置,该装置的信息存储容量被提高并且其第一反射层的反射率得到改进。
为实现以上目的,提供了一种具有多个反射膜的多层光学记录装置,该多个反射膜具有相互不同的反射特性且包括能通过反射率差光学地读取的信息。靠近光入射面的第一反射膜由两层组成,其每层含有不同的折射率。
最好是两层都由电介质材料制成,靠近基片的第一电介质层的折射率大于第二电介质层的折射率。这里,第一电介质层的折射率大于2.2,第二电介质层的折射率小于1.3。
由于第一反射膜采用了其折射率互不相同的第一和第二电介质层,有可能得到第一反射膜的反射率改进的,且信息存储容量提高了的光盘。

图4是根据本发明一种实施方案的一种多层光学记录装置的示意图。
根据本发明的光盘结构包括:一个用传统方法由如PMMA如PC材料的透明树脂制成的透明基片100,一个在该透明基片上形成的第一反射膜102,一个粘附第一反射膜102到第二反射膜106的附着层104,通过附着层104粘附到第一反射膜的第二反射膜106,以及一个在第二反射膜106上形成的保护膜108。紧靠透明基片100的第一反射膜102由两层组成,两层最好都由电介质材料组成。靠近透明基片100的第一电介质层a和第二电介质层b具有不同的折射率,第一电介质层a的折射率要大于第二电介质层b的折射率。最好上述两折射率之差大于0.8。
由于以上结构简单、易于制造,且第一反射膜由两层电介质组成,因此有可能只使用单一光源来再现记录信息。而且,由于适当选取组成第一和第二电介质层的电介质材料,因此有可能改善第一反射膜的折射率。以下参照图5,详细介绍以上工艺。
图5是折射率与反射率之间关系的示意图。在由第一层110,第二层112、和第三层114组成的层叠结构中,第二层112(即中间层)的反射率(R)由第一,第二和第三层的折射率决定,为式中,n1代表第一层的折射率,n2代表第二层的折射率,n3代表第三层的折射率。
根据公式1,反射率随第一层110的折射率n1、第三层114的折射率n3的减少而增大,随第二层112的折射率n2的增大而增大。相应地,第二层由高折射率的电介质材料制成,并且第一层110和第三层114由低折射率的电介质材料制成,因此有可能增加第二层112的反射率。若将以上关系应用到本发明,因为第一、二、三层110、112、114分别对应透明基片100、第一电介质层a和第二电介质层b,且第一电介质层涂有高折射率的电介质,第二电介质层涂有低折射率的电介质,因此可以提高第一反射层102,即第一电介质层a的反射率。
在传统的由单层组成第一反射膜的情况下,透明基片和附着层由聚氯乙烯(PVC)或PC构成。经紫外线加工过的树脂(如PVC或PC)的折射率大约为1.4。由于透明基片和附着层的折射率如上述是固定的,第一反射层的反射率取决于第一反射膜的折射率。
本发明中,正如上面详细说明的,由于第一电介质层由折射率高的电介质材料组成,并且第二介质层由折射率低的电介质材料组成,因此可以增加第一反射膜的反射率。
根据本发明的一个较佳实施方案,第一电介质层是由其折射率大于2.2的材料制成并且第二电介质层是由其折射率小于1.3的材料制成。
根据以上方法,由于其折射率有大的差异的两层电介质用作第一反射膜,因此可以得到其第一反射膜的反射率得到改进的、生产容易的、以及信息存储容量增加的光盘。
本发明并不限于以上的实施方案,本技术领域中的普通熟练人员可做更多的改动。即是说,上述实施方案是由具有两层反射膜结构的例子说明的,本发明的技术思想并不限于两层结构,并可用于多于两层的结构之中。

1.一种具有多个反射膜(102,106)的多层光学记录装置,该多个反射膜具有相互不同的光反射特性并包括能通过反射率差光学地读取的信息,其中靠近光入射面的第一反射膜(102)由两层(a,b)组成,其每层具有不同的折射率。
2.根据权利要求1的一种多层光学记录装置,所述第一反射膜(102)的所述两层(a,b)由电介质材料制成。
3.根据权利要求1的一种多层光学记录装置,其中,在该两层(a,b)的组成部分之中,靠近基片的第一层(a)是由其折射率大于另一第二层(b)的折射率的材料制成。
4.根据权利要求3的一种多层光学记录装置,该第一层(a)的折射率大于2.2。
5.根据权利要求3的一种多层光学记录装置,该第二层(b)的折射率小于1.3。
