本发明描述一种扫描模式，该扫描模式在被使能时将打开扫描器的照明达一段时间，例如500毫秒。在该时段期间，扫描器可以用光充满智能电话的光传感器，从而欺骗智能电话认为它在灯火通明的环境中。该动作可使得智能电话将在其显示器上的其背光强度增加到移动设备能够在该段时间期间发射的最大亮度水平，从而最大化屏幕上的条形码的对比度。此时，扫描器可关闭照明并读取智能电话屏幕上的高对比度条形码。
扫描模式可按各种方式（诸如经由来自主机应用的命令、编程条形码、双触发拉动、扫描器上的硬件按钮、惯性传感器识别的手势（例如一侧到另一侧的摆动）或者通过经由图像处理技术识别视野中的智能电话）来使能。一旦该扫描模式被使能，扫描器就可尝试首先解码少数帧而不进行任何照明。如果该解码不成功，扫描器可按全功率打开其照明达持续时间。该持续时间可能被硬编码成设定的持续时间，或者可能被保持打开，直到软件识别到屏幕的亮度变化，并且然后照明可被关闭。如果未检测到亮度变化，则超时期间也将关闭它。扫描器可尝试在照明打开的同时解码帧，但是当照明关闭并且背光被完全点亮时，扫描器将最可能具有读取码的较佳机会。在这种情况下，屏幕可具有可改善扫描器解码捕获的帧（即，图像）的能力的高对比度。另一个可能的操作模式可以是保持打开达持续时间的照明，并且在少数帧被尝试解码的同时短暂地关闭（仅仅几毫秒）。该循环将继续，直到所述码被解码。该闪烁对用户并且对光传感器几乎不可见，但是将允许我们在同时尝试解码捕获的图像时不断地用光充满光传感器。这种情况可能是本发明的最佳表现。该发明假设在目标设备上使能自动亮度设置。
总之，本发明包括至少两个场景。在一个场景中，当用光充满智能电话的同时，扫描器可实际上在传感器视频流上执行图像处理，以检测何时已经有背光强度的变化。扫描器可以通过对帧中的像素的值求平均来实现这些功能，并且当平均值从先前的一个或多个帧升高超过n时，扫描器将停止用光充满智能电话并开始解码。另一个场景可能是：扫描器用光充满智能电话达一段时间，并且然后简单地假设它已经欺骗了智能电话调大其背光强度。此时，它将停止照亮，尝试解码少数帧，并且如果不成功则将重复该循环。
图1图示扫描器102和移动设备104，其中扫描器102正在扫描移动设备104上的条形码。扫描器102包括照明、传感器和解码器的功能。图1还图示在完全背光环境中的移动设备106，从而导致高对比度的显示器。可替代地，移动设备108图示导致低对比度的显示器的变暗的背光环境。与如在移动设备108中所示的低对比度的显示器相比，扫描器102可具有改善的扫描诸如移动设备106中所示的高对比度的显示器的性能。移动设备104、106和108基于由光传感器接收的光量来确定对比度的水平。传感器被描绘在移动设备108上。光传感器可位于许多智能电话上。
在示范性实施例中，图2图示用于扫描和读取与移动设备相关联的显示器上的标记的方法的流程图。始于扫描器（步骤202），扫描模式被启动，用于捕获移动设备的显示器上的图像。（步骤204）扫描器然后照亮移动设备达一段时间。（步骤210）如先前所论述的，当移动电话的光传感器被用光充满时，与在移动设备的照亮之前的背光强度相比，显示器的背光强度可增加亮度，并且最终增加到移动设备在该时间段期间能够发射的最大亮度水平。（步骤212）当该段时间结束时，在如移动设备106上图示的高对比度的显示器的时段期间，扫描器停止照亮移动设备，并且然后从显示器捕获图像。扫描器然后尝试解码捕获的图像。（步骤214）。通过在从高亮环境到低亮环境的转变之后立即扫描显示器图像，从高对比度显示器捕获图像，这增加成功解码捕获的图像的概率。
在另一个示范性实施例中，图3图示用于扫描和读取与移动设备相关联的显示器上的标记的方法的流程图。始于扫描器（步骤302），扫描模式被启动，用于捕获移动设备的显示器上的图像。（步骤304）扫描器然后尝试在第一时间段中捕获第一组捕获的图像而不照亮移动设备。（步骤306）在这些尝试中，手持式扫描器可能在运动，所以扫描器可扫描少数帧，以便优化获得焦点对准的图像的可能性。

由于扫描器正在照亮移动设备（包括其光传感器），所以背光强度的亮度可继续增加，直到与在移动设备的照亮之前的背光强度相比的背光强度，并且可达到移动设备能够在第二时间段中发射的最大亮度水平。（步骤312）当第二时间段结束时，扫描器停止照亮移动设备。在没有照明的情况下，扫描器从显示器捕获第三组图像，并且随后尝试解码第三组捕获的图像。（步骤316）如果第三组捕获的图像被成功解码，解码的图像被发送到计算机。
如果第三组捕获的图像的解码不成功，扫描器照亮移动设备达另一个第二时间段。该方法然后重复第二时间段的步骤，包括步骤310、311、312和316。
在又一个示范性实施例中，图4A和图4B图示用于扫描和读取与移动设备相关联的显示器上的标记的方法的流程图。始于扫描器（步骤402），扫描模式被启动，用于捕获移动设备的显示器上的图像（步骤404）。
扫描器然后尝试在第一时间段中解码第一组捕获的图像而不照亮移动设备。（步骤406）在这些尝试中，手持式扫描器可能在运动，所以扫描器可扫描少数帧，以便优化获得焦点对准的图像的可能性。
如果在第一时间段的结束之前成功地解码第一组捕获的图像，则解码的图像被发送到计算机。如果在第一时间段的结束之前未成功解码第一组捕获的图像，则扫描器照亮移动设备达第二时间段。（步骤410）接下来，在移动设备被照亮的同时，扫描器尝试解码在移动设备被照亮之后扫描的第二组捕获的图像。如果解码成功，解码的图像被发送到计算机（步骤411）。
如果解码不成功，扫描器监视移动设备的显示器的背光强度的水平的变化。扫描器确定背光强度与先前的测量相比是否增加到大于预定水平的水平。（步骤415）如果达到预定水平，则扫描器停止照亮移动设备。扫描器然后从显示器捕获图像，并且随后尝试解码第三组捕获的图像。（步骤416）如果解码成功，则解码的图像被发送到计算机。
如果解码不成功，该方法重复步骤411、414、415、416。
如果在步骤415中显示器的背光强度与另一个先前的测量相比还未增加超过预定水平，扫描器继续照亮移动设备，直到背光强度与先前的测量相比大于预定水平（步骤412）。
图3公开一种方法，其中尝试解码捕获的图像的决定基于某些时间段。而图4A和4B公开一种方法，其中尝试解码捕获的图像的决定基于显示器的亮度的水平的变化。本领域技术人员可认识到可组合图3以及图4A和4B中所述的方法。

Claims (10)

1.一种方法，包括：
启动扫描器的扫描模式以捕获呈现在与移动设备相关联的显示器上的图像；
用扫描器照亮移动设备达一段时间；
当该段时间结束时，停止照亮移动设备，并且然后用扫描器捕获显示器的图像；以及
尝试解码捕获的图像。
2.根据权利要求1所述的方法，其中移动设备是智能电话，并且显示器是智能电话的屏幕。
3.根据权利要求1所述的方法，其中条形码被呈现在显示器上。
4.根据权利要求1所述的方法，其中捕获的图像包括从显示器扫描的一个或多个数据帧。
5.根据权利要求1所述的方法，其中移动设备的照亮使得移动设备的光传感器将显示器的背光强度增加到移动设备能够在该段时间中产生的最大亮度水平。
6.根据权利要求1所述的方法，其中响应于以下而启动扫描模式：
从主机应用接收命令；
解码编程条形码；
扫描器上的硬件的激活；
从扫描器上的惯性传感器接收信号；和/或
处理由扫描器捕获的图像；
其中当扫描模式被使能时，扫描器执行照亮、停止照亮、捕获图像和尝试解码捕获的图像的步骤。
7.根据权利要求1所述的方法，包括：
在扫描器的传感器视频流上执行图像处理，以便解码捕获的图像。
8.一种方法，包括：
启动扫描器的扫描模式以捕获呈现在与移动设备相关联的显示器上的图像；
当扫描器未正在照亮移动设备时，用扫描器尝试在第一时间段中解码第一组捕获的图像；
如果在第一时间段中第一组捕获的图像的解码不成功：
照亮移动设备达第二时间段，
尝试在第二时间段的第一部分中解码第二组捕获的图像，
如果尝试解码第二组捕获的图像不成功，继续照亮移动设备以将显示器的背光强度增加到最大亮度水平；
当第二时间段结束时，停止照亮移动设备，并捕获第三组捕获的图像；以及
尝试解码第三组捕获的图像。
9.根据权利要求8所述的方法，包括：
如果解码第三组捕获的图像不成功，照亮移动设备达另一个第二时间段；
尝试在另一个第二时间段的第一部分中解码另一个第二组捕获的图像；
如果尝试解码另一个第二组捕获的图像不成功，继续照亮移动设备以将显示器的背光强度增加到最大亮度水平；
当另一个第二时间段结束时停止照亮移动设备，并且捕获另一个第三组捕获的图像；以及
尝试解码另一个第三组捕获的图像。
10.根据权利要求8所述的方法，包括：在超时期间结束时或者当由用户提示时，终止扫描。
