Abstract

技术领域
本发明涉及热成像系统。具体而言，公开的实施例涉及用于在热打印头处无线地接收功率和/或数据的系统及方法。
背景技术
一般而言，热打印头(TPH)需要功率线缆输送功率来操作。TPH通常还使功率线缆与数据线缆组合，数据线缆作用为计算机处理单元(CPU)与TPH之间的数据传递，如图1中所示的那样。因此，存在对无线TPH的需要，以便打印机可在不使用功率线缆或数据线缆的情况下运行。
发明内容
因此，一方面，本发明包含将功率和/或数据无线地远程发送至热打印头。
在示例性实施例中，存在一种用于在可记录介质上打印的成像系统，包括：热打印头，其安装在平台上且能够在可记录介质上打印；以及功率接收器线圈壳体，其安装在平台上且能够接收无线功率。
在另一个示例性实施例中，存在一种用于在可记录介质上打印的成像系统，包括：热打印头，其安装在平台上且能够在可动的可记录介质上打印；以及具有天线的数据接收器壳体，该天线能够接收无线信号来控制热打印头的操作。
在还有另一个示例性实施例中，提供了一种接收无线功率以用于操作热打印头的方法，包括：在功率接收器线圈壳体中的功率接收线圈处从交变磁场无线地接收功率；以及将直流功率从功率接收器线圈壳体提供至热打印头以允许在可记录介质上打印。

具体实施方式
如图1中所示，所有TPH需要功率和数据线缆来输送能量和数据至TPH来打印。热打印机中的数据线缆可能相当长而宽，且对于工业热打印机的情况，其可接近50厘米(cm)。这引起至少两个问题。首先，大量空间必须设计成适应线缆。其次，至TPH的信号可能较弱且沿路径由杂乱信号干扰。类似地，热打印头具有功率线缆，其驱动TPH以特定速度和密度打印。对于工业模型热打印机，功率线缆也可达到50cm长，故还必须保持一定空间来排布功率线缆。由于这些线缆占据打印机中的空间，故在给定空间约束下改变TPH也可能相当麻烦，尤其是对于具有小足迹(footprint)的打印机。TPH也易受外部杂乱信号影响，外部杂乱信号可干扰沿线缆路径的电路。利用无线TPH，打印机可在不使用功率或数据线缆的情况下运行。这具有的益处在于缩小了打印机尺寸，提高了持久性，因为不再需要将功率和/或数据线缆插入和拔出TPH，且通过节省热打印机中占据的TPH组件空间而改善了TPH替换和修理。
图2示出了用于可在本公开内容的实施例中使用的成像系统(例如，打印机)中的热打印头的示意图。所示热打印头200包括加热电阻器阵列202、基底204、控制区段206、连接器208、驱动集成电路(IC)阵列210和热敏电阻212。基底204由诸如陶瓷的绝缘材料制成且例如是矩形的。驱动IC阵列210和热敏电阻212可布置在安装于基底204上的印刷电路板或柔性电路上。伸长的加热电阻器阵列202也形成在基底204上，且经由连接器208与热打印机的控制区段206连接。加热电阻器202也与多个电极(未示出)连接。这些电极可沿加热电阻器202等距间隔开，允许了加热电阻器202的分开的部分(加热点)选择性地激励。驱动IC阵列210通过经由上文所述的电极到加热电阻器阵列202的选择性功率施加来提供对打印操作的控制。控制区段206将执行打印操作所需的信号发送至驱动IC阵列210。例如，这些信号包括打印数据信号、时钟信号、闭锁信号和选通信号。驱动IC阵列210具有选通信号端子210a，选通信号经由连接器208的选通信号端子208a发送至端子210a。选通信号确定用于待激励的加热电阻器202的持续时间。尽管选通信号采用HIGH电平，但驱动IC阵列210可使功率选择性地用于加热电阻器202。基底204设有热敏电阻212。热敏电阻212经由连接器208的热敏电阻端子208b与热打印机的控制区段206连接。连接器208建立热打印头与热打印机之间的电连接。控制区段206基于热敏电阻212的电阻值获得关于基底204的温度的信息。如果热敏电阻212给出极小的电阻值(意味着基底204在异常高的温度下)，则控制区段206可停止将打印命令发送至驱动IC 210，以便防止热打印头200受到异常操作或受损。
图3A示出了由感应线圈供能的无线TPH。在图3A中，TPH 200与旋转地驱动的滚筒302整体结合，滚筒302支撑和引导覆盖在带(也未示出)上的记录材料(例如，纸)(未示出)。TPH 200安装在平台303上。筒302的速度定时为慢到足以允许热穿透记录材料，且快到足以使得记录材料不会过热。记录幅材的记录层密切地接触带，带继而又与TPH 200接触。通过该过程，电加热小元件，其使脱离带且粘至记录幅材得蜡(或树脂)熔化。替代由线缆供能，TPH 200从近侧功率供应和控制304接收功率。直流(DC)功率源(例如，干线)305通过功率供应和控制壳体304(也称为发送线圈壳体)内的发送器电子器件转换成高频交变电流(AC)。功率供应和控制壳体提供控制功能，诸如功率供应侧处的频率。高频AC流入发送感应线圈(或感应线圈)304a，其生成穿过空隙306提供功率的振荡磁场。来自磁场的能量在位于也安装在平台303上的接收器线圈壳体308中的接收器线圈308a中感生AC。功率通常可在大约400到500瓦的范围中操作。发送器线圈与接收器线圈壳体之间的距离达到大约200毫米。大体上，距离应当最大限度减小以保持较高频率。接收器线圈壳体308在图3B中以框图形式更详细示出。无线地提供的AC由壳体308中的接收器电子器件308b转换回DC，且提供至TPH200的电子器件。接收器电子器件308b可包括整流器、滤波器、电压调节器、电容器等。通过在热打印头200和功率供应304两者处使用感应线圈304a,308a，能量可通过电磁场306传递。
在由图4A所示的备选实施例中，数据接收器壳体400还可安装在具有TPH 200和接收器线圈壳体308的平台303上。壳体300可与壳体308整体结合或在单独的壳体中。(在备选实施例中，接收器线圈壳体308可除去，且TPH 200可在数据无线地接收时通过标准功率线缆接收其功率)。如图4B中所示，数据接收器壳体400包含无线天线400a，其能够接收从位于TPH 200附近的发送器/接收器400发出的无线数据传递信号402。数据接收器壳体400还包含电子构件400b以处理信号402，且电子构件可包括放大器、探测器、滤波器、振荡器等。数据接收器壳体400硬接线到热打印头200以提供数据和控制信息。在备选实施例中，数据接收器壳体400还可能包含发送器(即，收发器)以将关于TPH 200的状态的无线更新发送至发送器/接收器404。发送器/接收器404包括天线404a和电子构件404b，其能够发送(和接收)无线信号。这些电子构件可包括放大器、探测器、滤波器、振荡器等。无线信号402可为WiFi™、Bluetooth™，或任何短距离或长距离的隔空信号通信。由数据接收器壳体400接收到的数据可为用于TPH 200的命令和/或要打印在记录材料上的信息。由壳体400发送至发送器/接收器404的数据可包括无线验证信息，以防止假冒热打印头在打印机中使用。在使用假冒打印头的情况下，发送器/接收器404将停止将数据转发至壳体400和TPH 200。
图5示出了具有感应线圈308a和相关联的电子器件308b的备选实施例，其在相同的壳体500中和相同的平台303上与无线数据接收器天线400a和其相关联的电子器件400b组合。在该实施例中，将存在位于功率电子器件与数据电子器件之间的电磁屏蔽502来最大限度减少干扰。
本文公开的实施例的优点包括以下。首先，公开的实施例节省了热打印机中的热打印头空间，且允许了打印机的缩小。第二，将不需要插入和拔出TPH 200，故不存在连接器磨损，且因此延长持久性。第三，其还使热打印头更换变为不麻烦的工作且提高了使用者的便利性。
