发明领域
本发明涉及一种具有改善的侧倾稳定性(roll stability)的润滑脂组合物。
发明背景
润滑脂在使用中经受机械剪切,其可能会导致增稠剂颗粒的尺寸变化和分散并导致润滑脂的降解。侧倾稳定性为润滑脂当经受机械剪切时稳定性的量度。在根据ASTM D1831的侧倾稳定性测试中,润滑脂被置于包含钢辊的圆筒中,并转动所述圆筒。测量测试之前和之后润滑脂的渗透率(penetration),渗透率值的差表示侧倾稳定性。
本发明人试图提供具有改善的侧倾稳定性的润滑脂组合物。
发明概述
本发明人令人惊讶地发现,将水杨酸钙添加至润滑脂组合物可以改善侧倾稳定性。据此,本发明提供了使用水杨酸钙来改善润滑脂组合物的侧倾稳定性的用途,所述润滑脂组合物包含基础油以及锂和/或钙的脂肪酸盐。
在另一个方面中,本发明提供了一种润滑脂组合物,其包含基础油、锂和/或钙的脂肪酸盐、以及0.3至0.6wt%的水杨酸钙,其中,重量百分比基于润滑脂组合物的重量计。
发明详述
本发明提供了使用水杨酸钙来改善润滑脂组合物的侧倾稳定性的用途。用于测量侧倾稳定性的方法由ASTM D 1831定义。圆筒转动的持续时间可以是不同的,但是优选为1至200小时,更优选为10至50小时,并且最优选为18小时。圆筒转动过程中的温度可以是不同的,例如从室温到100℃,但是优选为65℃。在测量侧倾稳定性之前,将水与润滑脂适宜地混合,例如基于润滑脂组合物的重量计10wt%的水。侧倾稳定性通过侧倾稳定性测试之前和之后的渗透率差来确定。渗透率根据在ASTM D 1403中定义的方法来适宜地测定,并且通常以0.1mm来报告。差值小的渗透率(特别是低于1000.1mm)表示优良的侧倾稳定性,而差值大的渗透率(特别是高于1000.1mm)表示差的侧倾稳定性。
在本发明中,将水杨酸钙引入润滑脂组合物中以改善侧倾稳定性。这意味着该润滑脂组合物的侧倾稳定性优于不包含水杨酸钙的在其它方面相同的润滑脂组合物的侧倾稳定性(即该润滑脂组合物的渗透率差低于不包含水杨酸钙的在其它方面相同的润滑脂组合物)。
适宜地引入润滑脂组合物中以改善侧倾稳定性的水杨酸钙的量适宜地为0.3至0.6wt%,基于润滑脂组合物的重量计。本发明人发现,使用小于0.3wt%的水杨酸钙不会赋予侧倾稳定性所期望的改善,并且使用大于0.6wt%的水杨酸钙不提供进一步的改善。
水杨酸钙适宜地为高碱性水杨酸钙。
所述润滑脂组合物中的基础油为通常可用作润滑脂组合物的基础油的基础油,并且不存在特别的限制。所述基础油适宜地选自矿物油、合成油、动物和植物油、及其混合物。
特别地,可以单独地或者作为混合物来使用隶属于API(美国石油协会)基础油类别中的第I组、第II组、第III组、第IV组等的基础油。
第I组基础油包括,例如,通过对由原油的常压蒸馏获得的润滑油馏分的精制加工(例如溶剂精制、加氢精制和脱蜡)的适宜组合而获得的链烷烃矿物油。
第II组基础油包括,例如,通过对由原油的常压蒸馏获得的润滑油馏分的精制加工(例如加氢精制和脱蜡)的适宜组合而获得的链烷烃矿物油。
第III组基础油和第II+组基础油包括通过对由原油的常压蒸馏获得的润滑油馏分进行高度加氢精制而制备的链烷烃矿物油,对由异构烷烃脱蜡工艺所产生的蜡进行脱蜡和取代的异构脱蜡(Isodewax)加工而精制的基础油,和通过美孚石油公司(Mobil)蜡异构化加工而精制的基础油。
合成油的例子包括聚烯烃,聚氧亚烷基二醇例如聚乙二醇或者聚丙二醇,酯例如癸二酸二-2-乙基己基酯或己二酸二-2-乙基己基酯,多元醇酯例如三羟甲基丙烷酯或者季戊四醇酯,全氟烷基醚,硅油和聚苯醚。
聚烯烃包括不同烯烃的聚合物或其氢化物。可以使用任意烯烃,并且作为例子可以提及乙烯、丙烯、丁烯以及具有五个或更多个碳原子的α-烯烃。在制备聚烯烃时,烯烃可以单独地使用,或者可以使用两种或更多种的组合。特别合适的是称为聚-α-烯烃(PAO)的聚烯烃。这些为第IV组的基础油。
与由原油精制得到的矿物油基础油相比,通过将天然气转化为液体燃料的费托方法合成的GTL(气-液)基础油具有非常低的硫含量和芳族化合物含量,并且具有非常高的链烷烃组分比,并且因此具有极佳的氧化稳定性。
可以提及的动物和植物油的典型例子是蓖麻油和菜籽油。
不同的基础油可以单独地使用或者作为混合物来使用。
润滑脂组合物中的增稠剂为锂和/或钙的脂肪酸盐。脂肪酸适宜地为C13-C21脂肪酸。增稠剂适宜地为锂的脂肪酸盐,并且增稠剂优选为12-羟基硬脂酸锂。润滑脂组合物适宜地包含2至20wt%的锂和/或钙的脂肪酸盐,基于润滑脂组合物的重量计。
本发明的润滑脂组合物还可以包含抗氧化剂,防锈剂,油性剂,极压添加剂,抗磨剂,固体润滑剂,金属减活剂,聚合物和其它添加剂。
抗氧化剂包括,例如,2,6-二叔丁基-4-甲基苯酚,2,6-二叔丁基对甲酚,P,P’-二辛基二苯胺,N-苯基-α-萘胺和吩噻嗪。
防锈剂包括链烷烃氧化物,羧酸金属盐,磺酸金属盐,羧酸酯,磺酸酯,琥珀酸酯,山梨聚糖酯和不同的胺盐。
油性剂、极压添加剂和抗磨剂包括,例如,硫化的二烷基二硫代磷酸锌,硫化的二芳基二硫代磷酸锌,硫化的二烷基二硫代氨基甲酸锌,硫化的二芳基二硫代氨基甲酸锌,硫化的二烷基二硫代磷酸钼,硫化的二芳基二硫代磷酸钼,硫化的二烷基二硫代氨基甲酸钼,硫化的二芳基二硫代氨基甲酸钼,有机钼复合物,硫化的烯烃,磷酸三苯酯,硫代磷酸三苯酯,磷酸三甲苯酯,其它的磷酸酯,和硫化的脂肪和油。
固体润滑剂包括,例如,二硫化钼,石墨,氮化硼,三聚氰胺氰脲酸盐,PTFE(聚四氟乙烯),二硫化钨,云母,氟化石墨等。
金属减活剂包括,例如,N,N’-二亚水杨基-1,2-二氨基丙烷,苯并三唑,苯并咪唑,苯并噻唑和噻二唑。
润滑脂组合物可以使用标准的润滑脂制备途径来制备。优选地,水杨酸钙为添加至增稠剂和基础油的反应组合的第一添加剂。
本发明的润滑脂组合物可被用于普通的工业润滑,包括用于重载轴承。它们还可被用于在苛刻条件(包括在潮湿环境中的冲击负荷)下操作的重载平面和滚动元件轴承。此外,它们可用于机动车应用,例如轮轴轴承(锥化和辊制),底盘点,通用转向,悬接和传动接头,水泵和发电轴承,以及钩环和联动装置。
实施例
本发明将在下文通过实施例和对比例进一步详细阐释,但是本发明不以任何方式受到这些实施例的限制。
通过在釜中合并12-羟基硬脂酸酯和基础油并加热至90℃(热耗率3℃/min)、同时在150rpm下搅拌来制备润滑脂。制备基础油、水和氢氧化锂的混合物,并在搅拌下加热至60℃。将氢氧化锂混合物在90℃下添加至所述釜中,并关闭所述釜。随后将所述釜加热至200℃(热耗率3℃/min),并在200rpm下搅拌混合物。当温度达到200℃时,排放所述釜并且搅拌速率降至100rpm。在排放后,将所述釜加热至215℃(热耗率4℃/min),并在150rpm下搅拌混合物。随后将混合物冷却至160℃(热耗率3℃/min),在200rpm下搅拌。在160℃下通过泵来添加其它预加热的基础油,并随后以150rpm搅拌所述釜15分钟。所述釜被冷却至100℃(热耗率5℃/min),以100rpm搅拌。在冷却后,添加水杨酸钙,然后在搅拌10分钟后添加添加剂包。添加其他的基础油,随后以150rpm搅拌。将产物混合并脱气20分钟,过滤,均质化并脱气。
润滑脂组合物的配方在表1中示出:
实施例4是实施例3的重复,并且对比例4是对比例3的重复。添加剂包是润滑脂添加剂的标准包,并且在所有的实施例和对比例中相同。基础油为链烷烃基础油,粘度为220cSt。
侧倾稳定性测试根据ASTM D 1831来进行。在第一系列的测试中,圆筒在65℃下转动18小时。在第二系列的测试中,圆筒在65℃下转动100小时。在侧倾稳定性测试后,采集扫描电子显微镜图像。所述图像经评估以确定增稠剂是否保持完整(纤维样结构可见)或者已被破坏(纤维样结构基本不可见)。
侧倾稳定性测试的结果在表2中概括:
本发明的实施例(所有均包含水杨酸钙)与对比例(不包含水杨酸钙)相比,表现出显著改善的侧倾稳定性。
Claims (4)
1.水杨酸钙用于改善润滑脂组合物的侧倾稳定性的用途,所述润滑脂组合物包含基础油以及锂和/或钙的脂肪酸盐,其中所述侧倾稳定性根据ASTM D 1831测量,其中所述润滑脂组合物包含0.3至0.6wt%的水杨酸钙。
2.根据权利要求1所述的用途,其中所述锂和/或钙的脂肪酸盐为锂的C13-C21脂肪酸盐。
3.根据权利要求2所述的用途,其中所述锂的脂肪酸盐为12-羟基硬脂酸锂。
4.根据权利要求1或2所述的用途,其中所述润滑脂组合物包含2至20wt%的锂和/或钙的脂肪酸盐。
