本发明属液晶材料领域,提供一种用于薄膜晶体管液晶显示器的液晶组合物,按重量百分比计,其包含以下成分:第一成分:5%‑60%,第二成分:1‑40%,第三成分:1‑30%;第四成分:1‑40%;第五成分:1‑20%。本发明对上述化合物进行组合实验,通过与对照的比较,证明所述液晶组合物组成的液晶介质,具有合适的光学各项异性、介电各向异性、低的粘度、较快的响应时间以及低温稳定性好等特点。

一种用于薄膜晶体管液晶显示器的液晶组合物
技术领域
本发明属于液晶材料领域,具体涉及一种液晶组合物。
背景技术
液晶显示元件是利用液晶材料本身所具备的光学各项异性和介电各项异性来进行工作的,目前已经得到了广泛的应用。利用液晶材料不同的特性和工作方式,可以将器件设计成各种不同的工作模式,其中常规显示器普遍使用的TN模式(即扭曲向列模式—液晶混合物具有扭曲约90度的向列型结构)、STN(即超扭曲向列模式)、SBE模式(即超扭曲双折射模式)、EBC模式(即电控双折射模式)、V2模式(即垂直排列模式)、IPS模式(即面内转换模式)等,还有很多根据以上模式所做的改进模式。工作在TN、STN、SBE模式下的元件一般使用正介电各项异性液晶,EBC、V2模式使用负性介电各项异性液晶。目前市面上的液晶显示器主要属于有源矩阵类型的薄膜晶体管液晶显示器(即TFT-LCD),TFT-LCD具有分辨率高、视角宽、对比度高等优点,并且其能耗低、体积小等,因此被广泛应用。但是目前TFT-LCD仍然存在液晶材料仍然存在响应不够快,电压不够低,以及电荷保持率较低的问题。因此,提供一种具备良好的化学和热稳定性,良好的电场和电磁辐射的稳定性、合适的光学各项异性、合适的双折射率、较快的响应速度及较低的阈值电压的料是目前最需要的。
发明内容
针对现有技术的不足之处,本发明的目的是提供一种液晶组合物,其具有大的各项异性、相对小的旋转粘度、合适的折射率和极好的低温存储稳定性等特性。该液晶组合物在液晶显示装置中有良好的应用。
本发明的另一目的是提出所述液晶组合物的应用。
实现本发明上述目的的具体技术方案为:
一种用于薄膜晶体管液晶显示器的液晶组合物,按重量百分比计,其包含以下成分:第一成分:5%-60%,第二成分:1-40%,第三成分:1-30%;第四成分:1-40%;第五成分:1-20%;各重量百分比之和为100%;
其中,第一成分为通式Ⅰ所示的化合物的一种或多种:

其中,R1、R2、R3、R4、R5、R6、R7、R8、R9、R10、R11各自独立地表示碳原子数为1~7的烷基,或碳原子数为2~7的端烯基;
进一步地,本发明所述的液晶组合物还包含以下质量百分含量的化合物:
(1):1-40%通式Ⅵ所代表的化合物;
(2):1-20%通式Ⅶ所代表的化合物;
其中通式Ⅵ、Ⅶ、所代表的化合物结构式如下所示:
其中,R12、R13、R14各自独立地表示碳原子数为1~7的烷基或碳原子数为2~7的烯基;R15表示H原子或具有1-5个碳原子的烷基;各自独立的表示其中中的一个或两个不相邻的-CH2-可以被-O-或-S-取代,中的一个或两个不相邻的-CH2-可以被N取代,中任意的一个或多个H可独立的被F取代或不取代;
优选地,本发明所述的液晶组合物,包含以下质量百分含量的化合物:第一成分20%-60%,第二成分:5-20%,第三成分:1-20%;第四成分:1-30%;第五成分:1-15%。

本发明的液晶组合物,还可包含一种或多种UV稳定剂和/或抗氧化剂。其中UV稳定剂为以下化合物中的一种或几种:
抗氧化剂为和/或
UV稳定剂和/或抗氧化剂等添加剂的加入可使液晶在紫外照射及加热等情况下,VHR值显著下降,降幅值最高可达70%以上。
本发明的液晶组合物可以使用常规方法制备,例如通过将化合物Ⅰ~Ⅴ中的一种或多种按重量百分比称量,配成液晶组合物,按重量的0%-5%加入添加剂,优选0.1%-1%,特别优选0.1%-0.2%。通常采用的方法是将各成分混合加热时其溶解,直至观察到溶解过程完成。也可以将组分在有机溶剂例如在丙酮、氯仿或甲醇汇总的溶液混合,以及在充分混合后再通过蒸馏法除去溶剂,得到最终样品。
本发明所提供的液晶组合物中,通式Ⅰ代表的化合物粘度低,具有较好的溶解性和响应时间,对组合物的低温稳定性起到重要作用;通式Ⅱ代表的三环化合物具有较高的清亮点和双折射率,用于调节组合物的清亮点和双折射率;通式Ⅲ代表的化合物化合物有较低的粘度和较大双折射率,因此在提高组合物的响应时间时,还可以提高双折射率;通式Ⅳ代表的化合物具有较大的Δε,以及较高的清亮点和适中的Δn数值,用于调节混合液晶的阈值电压,提高清亮点和折射率,适用于TN,STN,IPS等混合液晶显示器;通式Ⅴ代表的三联苯类化合物具有较高的清亮点和双折射率,使得本发明的液晶组合物具有较宽的光学各项异性,同时对提高整个混晶产品的清亮点起到重要作用,且此类液晶可以有效改善组合物的响应时间。
本发明所述的液晶组合物在制备有源矩阵液晶显示器件中的应用。
本发明通过对上述化合物进行组合实验,通过与对照的比较,确定了上述液晶组合物的液晶介质,具有合适的光学各项异性、介电各向异性、低的粘度、较快的响应时间以及低温稳定性好的特点。

参照对比例1、2、3,从实施例1-6的测试数据可见,本发明的的液晶化合物的组合物具有适合的介电各项异性和双折射率,以及合适的阈值电压、较低的粘度,以及良好的低温存储稳定性。将该液晶组合物应用于液晶显示器中,尤其是TFT-LCD模式的显示器中,其优异的光学和电学性能能明显改善其显示效果。
