具体实施方式
参考图1和2,带有煮熟程度指示器的内加热包装系统100大体上包括具有第一主表面104和第二主表面106的柔性膜包装102。在至少一个边缘上用边缘密封108密封包装102以将第一主表面104固定到第二主表面106,形成用于容纳物品或成分,诸如食物产品、医疗或牙科器械,制药成分以及类似物品的包或袋。然后能在所有边缘上完全地、气密地密封包装102以将内容物容纳和固定在包装102内。在本发明的一个实施方式中,如同在图1和2中所示的那样,在各边缘上用密封108密封包装102,其中在第二主表面106上有单个后接缝110。
仅仅为了代表性的目的,带有煮熟程度指示器的内加热包装系统100在下面被描述为用在用于微波加热或烹饪食物产品的食品工业中。然而,内加热包装系统100不被限制到这种应用。
包装102能包括任何合适的形状,诸如正方形、圆形、长方形、三角形、以及类似形状,以将食物产品固定在内。包装102能包括用于形成柔性膜包装或包的柔性塑料膜,诸如聚酯、聚丙烯(PP)、聚乙烯(PE)、PP/PE共聚物以及任何其它合适的聚合物、共聚物或它们的组合。在本发明的一个实施方式中,包装102包括可用可微波的和/或可热密封的柔性膜。在本发明的可选实施方式中,包装102能包括刚性塑料材料,诸如高密度聚乙烯(HDPE)、聚苯乙烯、聚丙烯以及它们的组合,以形成刚性容器,诸如具有盖的盘。刚性塑料包装能通过喷射注模法或其它类似方法制成。仅仅为了代表性的目的,这里的描述将参考柔性塑料包装;然而,本发明不限制到如此。
参考图3,包装102也能包括层状膜组件112,所述层状膜组件112包括例如通过粘结剂层压到内层116的外层114。在层状膜组件112的情形中,外膜114不与食物产品接触,并且仅仅内膜116的内表面与食物产品接触。外膜114和内膜116能由上面所提及的柔性塑料膜的任意组合制成。在本发明的一个实施方式中,内膜116包括具有从大约1密耳到大约4密耳的范围、并且更具体为大约3密耳的厚度的PP/PE共聚物,并且外膜114包括一薄层聚酯膜,诸如具有从大约48gauge(量规)到大约100gauge的范围或更大的厚度的PET或PP。
返回参考图1,包装102包括设置在包装102的角处,或顶部、头部部分中的煮熟程度指示器118,使得指示器118被设置在密封在包装102内的内容物之上。例如,关于用于食物产品的内加热包装系统100,食物产品能占据包装102的内部体积的大约百分之六十或更少。当包装102放置在微波内时,包装102能呈现直立袋构造,其中基部形成在包装102的底部处并且食物内容物朝着基部安放,使得头部空间朝着包装102的上半部形成。指示器118设置在包装102的该头部空间内,使得它不紧密地接近食物产品。
在本发明的可选实施方式中,包装102在其侧部上放置在微波内,使得密封在包装102内的内容物非常接近地接触但不直接接触煮熟程度指示器118。当包装102加压时,包装102的膜将远离内容物或食物产品上升,因此形成头部空间,类似于当包装处于上面所描述的直立袋构造时所形成的头部空间。
煮熟程度指示器118大体上能包括任何合适的印刷标记,诸如文字、图形、标识以及它们的组合。在本发明的一个实施方式中,煮熟程度指示器118由当周围膜、材料或空气的温度变化时改变颜色或透明度的热色油墨制成。合适的高温热色油墨的例子是ThermaSOLV,可从Sun Chemical得到的可逆油墨。典型地,这种热色油墨在从大约158华氏度(70摄氏度)到大约194华氏度(90摄氏度)的温度激活。煮熟程度指示器118能通过任何合适的印刷方法,诸如平版印刷术、苯胺印刷术、喷墨印刷术或它们的组合直接印刷在包装102的外部上或者包装102的内部上。合适的油墨能是水基油墨,水基包裹性油墨,诸如腊熔体,其中包裹性油墨悬浮在水中,或者不溶解油墨。在本发明的一个实施方式中,煮熟程度指示器118被压应用到包装102。在可选实施方式中,煮熟程度指示器118包括通过温度敏感的或机械的,也就是,压力敏感的附接装置层压到包装102的标签。
再次参考图3,在本发明的一个实施方式中,当包装102包括层状膜组件112时,煮熟程度指示器118能应用在外膜114和内膜116之间,也就是,在外膜114的内表面上,或者内膜116的外表面上。如所述,煮熟程度指示器118通过直接印刷在表面120上或者将它层压到表面120而被应用到外膜114的第一主表面120。在未示出的可选实施方式中,煮熟程度指示器118被应用到包装120的第二相对表面或外表面。
返回参考图3,粘结剂122,诸如连续层或不连续层形式的粘结剂,应用在煮熟程度指示器118之上,使得煮熟程度指示器118夹在外膜114和内膜116之间。在这个实施方式中,防止煮熟程度指示器118受到周围空气温度变化的影响,同时它至少部分地与容纳在包装102内的食物产品隔离。
在本发明的未示出的可选实施方式中,粘结剂应用成使得没有粘结剂接触或封装煮熟程度指示器118的热色油墨。这确保热色油墨的颜色的深度全部被利用,使得煮熟程度指示器118易于读取。
如同在图1和2中所示的那样,包装102进一步包括围绕煮熟程度指示器118从包装102的前面延伸到包装102的后面以形成类似于口袋型区域的密封区域126的周边密封124。能通过热密封、低温密封方法诸如超声波焊接或其它合适的密封技术形成周边密封124。低温密封方法被定义为不需要应用热以形成密封,而是响应于其它形式的能量的应用产生热以加热的密封方法。例如,超声波焊接使得塑料由于吸收振动能量而局部熔化。低温密封方法,尤其是超声波焊接,优于热密封,因为热密封,如果不在严格地限定的参数内,会过早地触发热色油墨中的变化。此外,超声波焊接允许熔化过程的精确局部化。超声波焊接在食品工业中是众所周知的,因为它用于产品诸如花生酱和调味汁的膜包装。
周边密封124能具有任何合适的形状,诸如圆形,使得周边密封124在沿着周边密封124的所有位置处都与煮熟程度指示器118等距离。在另一实施方式中,周边密封124的侧部或边缘不与煮熟程度指示器118等距离,以适于制造注册的变化性,同时获得煮熟程度指示器118的足够的激发。
能在距离包装102的侧部边缘密封108的距离为“x”和距离包装102的底部边缘的距离为“y”处形成周边密封124。也能在围绕煮熟程度指示器118的距离为“l”处形成周边密封124。取决于食物产品以及加热食物产品所需要的时间,尺寸x、y和/或l能变化。“y”尺寸应当是足够长的,使得煮熟程度指示器118在加热期间被设置在包装102的头部空间中并且不紧密接近包装102内的内容物。
在本发明的可选实施方式中,包装102包括围绕煮熟程度指示器118的多个周边密封,诸如同心圆形式,以进一步减缓加热围绕煮熟程度指示器118的膜。在更宽的密封区域之上,同心圆是优选的,因为由于通过形成更宽的密封中的超声波焊接产生的热,更宽的密封区域能引起包装的弱化。
在又一实施方式中,周边密封124由半圆构成,使得仅仅部分地密封煮熟程度指示器,形成袋,具有面向包装102的顶部的开口,类似于半圆形的口袋。在这个实施方式中,由于在烹饪过程中的热传递和在一些点处直接接触所产生的蒸汽的组合,半圆形递送将加速所使用的油墨的转变。袋膨胀并且在一些点处压力迫使蒸汽进入按钮或内部,通过半圆形中的开口。探测热色油墨中的变化所需要的时间量取决于半圆形开口的尺寸,和/或半圆形相对于包的本体的位置。
通过控制煮熟程度指示器118的激发或激活,密封区域126担当热传递的对照物,其与容纳在包装102内的产品的煮熟程度相关联。包装102无论以直立构造还是以supra所描述的躺倒构造放置在微波中,头部空间中所产生的热横过密封124传递以激发煮熟程度指示器118的热色油墨。密封区域126因此允许在煮熟程度指示器118中观察到变化之前加热或烹饪在包装102内的食物内容物的额外时间。例如,与未密封的或未隔离的指示器相比,完全密封或隔离的煮熟程度指示器可花费额外的三十到240秒以便将足够的热传递到指示器118。足够的热传递的时间可取决于多个变量,所述变量包括瓦数、年限和/或商标中的微波变化,食物产品的变化,诸如密度和/或有调味汁或无调味汁,填充重量的变化,以及密封的尺寸和/或直径。与类似于在背景技术部分supra中所提及的煮熟程度指示器那样与包装的表面温度起反应不同,密封区域126允许与食物产品的煮熟程度相关联的间接温度读数,担当煮熟程度指示器118的保险。此外,因为油墨的化学性质,所以微波本身不影响煮熟程度指示器118。
包装系统100也能包括排放系统(未示出)。排放系统允许包装增加由于加热气密地密封的包装而产生的压力,同时允许它排出以防止过分地加压包装,其能导致包的爆炸。合适的排放系统表现出受控的排放循环,使得排放系统当加热时允许包装建立压力,使得包装担当压力炊具,同时减压包装以避免爆炸。合适的排放系统能包括包装中的预切的孔,教导终端用户在包装中制造孔或切割包装的角部的指示,或者复杂的排放系统,诸如Bemis® Magic SteamTM可微波系统。
根据本发明的一个实施方式,制造具有煮熟程度指示器118的内加热包装100的方法能利用本领域技术人员已知的标准制包机。合适的制包机130能包括垂直形式的填充密封(VFFS)机器,诸如从Robert Bosch GmbH的分公司Bosch Packaging Technology可得到的那些,或者水平形式的填充密封(HFFS)机器,诸如可从South Carolina,Duncan的HayssenSandiacre得到的Hayssen RT2000型号。各个的操作和构造以引用的方式结合到这里。
如同在图4中所示的那样,代表性的带驱动的VFFS制包机130大体上能包括连接到长形管状部分138的第一端136的漏斗134。卷组件140携带柔性膜142并且围绕并纵向地沿着长形管状部分138移动柔性膜142。柔性膜或膜层能被预先印刷有图形、文本、煮熟程度指示器118以及它们的组合。第一密封组件144,诸如热密封机,超声波密封机,压力密封机,或者类似密封机,用来形成包装102的第一接缝或后接缝110。第二密封组件146,其能具有与第一密封组件144相同或不同的构造,用来形成第二边缘接缝108a。食物产品的预先确定的部分被引入到漏斗134中,使得半密封的包装填充到预确定水平的食物产品。密封组件132,诸如超声波焊接机或它的等同物,用来在将食物产品引入到半密封的包装之前或之后在包装102上的预定位置处形成密封124和密封区域126。超声波焊接机132能大体上包括砧,和连接到用于发射声振动的换能器的超声焊极或电极臂。膜设置在砧和超声焊极之间。
填充后的半密封包装然后离开长形管状部分138的第二端148,使得它仅仅被柔性膜卷支撑。第二密封组件146然后同时形成包装102的第三边缘接缝108b和形成在长形管状部分138上的另一包装102的边缘接缝108a。
图5-7是来自实验设计的试验包,其中考察了多个不同的变量。这些变量可包括,例如,从周边密封124到煮熟程度指示器118的距离“l”(因此改变密封区域126),距离包装102的侧部边缘密封108的距离“x”,距离包装102的底部边缘的距离“y”,距离包装的填充点的距离,加热时间和温度,油墨类型,油墨的涂覆重量,周边密封124的形状,以及其它这些变量。
图5-7的对照物包装构造成使得在包装的内容物被充分地加热时图案显示出。图5中所示的包装代表对照物包装,其中没有应用热,使得在包装的外表面上或者在包装的密封区域内观察不到图案。图6中所示的包装代表这样的包装,即,其被加热使得在包装的外表面上以及密封区域能内观察到图案,指示密封区域的温度足以激活煮熟程度指示器。图7中所示的包装代表这样的包装,即,其被加热使得在包装的外表面上的一些图案可观察到,但是密封区域内的图案不可观察到,指示密封区域的温度不足以激活煮熟程度指示器。
在本发明的一个实施方式中,开始加热之后测量食物产品的温度多次。各包装被填充有十二盎司的玉米和黄油产品。下面是包括食物产品的温度和包装的可观察到的图案的表。围绕煮熟程度指示器的密封区域的表面区域保持恒定。使用标准热电偶测量产品的温度。

因此,本发明提出和解决了先前确定的许多不足和缺点。在不脱离其的实质属性的情况下,可以以其它特定形式具体表达本发明;因此,所示的实施方式在所有方面都应当被认为是示例性的和非限制性的。

Claims (26)

1.一种用于加热食物产品的内加热包装,所述内加热包装包括:
食物产品;
密封以形成包装的柔性塑料膜,其中所述包装适于在加热所述食物产品期间将所述食物产品完全封装和保持在所述包装内;和
适于响应于温度变化而经历可视转变的煮熟程度指示器,所述煮熟程度指示器通过指示器密封区域与所述食物产品至少部分地隔离,所述指示器密封区域由同心地布置的多个圆环形成,其中所述指示器密封区域抑制热传递到所述煮熟程度指示器以延迟所述可视转变,使得在通过所述柔性塑料膜观察到所述可视转变之前将所述食物产品维持在升高的温度达足以加热所述食物产品的时间段。
2.如权利要求1所述的内加热包装,其中所述煮熟程度指示器由热色油墨制成。
3.如权利要求1所述的内加热包装,其中所述煮熟程度指示器夹在所述柔性塑料膜的相对的内表面之间。
4.如权利要求1所述的内加热包装,其中所述柔性塑料膜包括多层膜。
5.如权利要求4所述的内加热包装,其中所述多层膜由两层形成,并且其中所述煮熟程度指示器夹在所述多层膜的第一层的内表面和所述多层膜的第二层的相对的内表面之间。
6.如权利要求1所述的内加热包装,其中所述柔性塑料膜的至少一部分是透明的或半透明的。
7.如权利要求1所述的内加热包装,其中所述指示器密封区域通过超声波焊接形成在所述包装的外表面上。
8.如权利要求1所述的内加热包装,其中所述食物产品选自于包括蔬菜、水果、肉、爆米花、调味汁以及它们的组合的组。
9.一种制造用于加热食物产品的具有煮熟程度指示器的内加热包装的方法,所述方法包括:
提供食物产品;
通过密封将柔性塑料膜形成包装,所述包装适于在加热所述食物产品期间将所述食物产品完全封装和保持在所述包装内;
将煮熟程度指示器设置在所述包装上,其中所述煮熟程度指示器适于响应于温度变化而经历可视转变,所述煮熟程度指示器通过指示器密封区域与所述食物产品至少部分地隔离,所述指示器密封区域由同心地布置的多个圆环形成;和
密封所述煮熟程度指示器,使得所述煮熟程度指示器通过指示器密封区域与所述食物产品密封地隔离,其中所述指示器密封区域抑制热传递到所述煮熟程度指示器以延迟所述可视转变,使得在通过所述柔性塑料膜观察到所述可视转变之前将所述食物产品维持在升高的温度达足以加热所述食物产品的时间段。
10.如权利要求9所述的方法,其中将煮熟程度指示器设置在所述包装上包括将热色油墨印刷在所述柔性塑料膜的相对的内表面中的其中一个上,或者所述柔性塑料膜的外表面上。
11.如权利要求9所述的方法,其中密封所述煮熟程度指示器包括通过超声波焊接形成所述指示器密封区域。

13.一种用于加热食物产品的内加热包装,包括:

由热色油墨制成的煮熟程度指示器,其中所述煮熟程度指示器适于响应于温度变化而经历颜色变化,所述煮熟程度指示器通过由低温密封形成的、包括同心地布置的多个圆环的指示器密封区域与所述食物产品至少部分地隔离,其中所述指示器密封抑制热传递到所述煮熟程度指示器以延迟所述颜色变化,使得在通过所述柔性塑料膜观察到所述颜色变化之前将所述食物产品维持在升高的温度达足以加热所述食物产品的时间段。
14.如权利要求13所述的内加热包装,其中通过超声波焊接实现所述低温密封。
15.如权利要求13所述的内加热包装,其中所述煮熟程度指示器夹在所述柔性塑料膜的相对的内表面之间。
16.如权利要求13所述的内加热包装,其中所述塑料膜包括多层膜。
17.如权利要求16所述的内加热包装,其中所述多层膜由两层形成,并且其中所述煮熟程度指示器还夹在所述多层膜的第一层的内表面和所述多层膜的第二层的相对的内表面之间。
18.如权利要求13所述的内加热包装,其中所述柔性膜的至少一部分是透明的或半透明的。
19.一种制造具有热色煮熟程度指示器的内加热包装的方法,所述方法包括:
提供食物产品;
热密封柔性塑料膜以形成包装,所述包装适于在加热所述食物产品期间将所述食物产品完全封装和保持在所述包装内;
将热色煮熟程度指示器设置在所述包装上,其中所述煮熟程度指示器适于响应于温度变化而经历颜色变化;和
通过低温密封而密封所述热色煮熟程度指示器,使得所述煮熟程度指示器通过包括同心地布置的多个圆环的指示器密封区域与所述食物产品密封地隔离,其中所述指示器密封区域抑制热传递到所述热色煮熟程度指示器以延迟所述颜色变化,使得在通过所述柔性塑料膜观察到所述颜色变化之前将所述食物产品维持在升高的温度达足以加热所述食物产品的时间段。
20.如权利要求19所述的方法,其中将热色煮熟程度指示器设置在所述包装上包括将热色油墨印刷在所述柔性塑料膜的相对的内表面中的其中一个上,或者在所述柔性塑料膜的外表面上。
21.如权利要求19所述的方法,其中所述热色煮熟程度指示器密封地夹在所述柔性塑料膜的相对的内表面之间。

24.如权利要求23所述的内加热包装,其中所述内容物选自于包括食物产品、内科器械、牙科器械、制药成分以及它们的组合的组。
