充电器连接器
背景技术
有计划来建立大量的充电站,以便给电动车辆充电。在每个充电站,人会将(例如位于连接到充电站的电缆的端部处的)电连接器插入车辆上的电接收器中并且将电连接器闩锁就位。电连接器载有强电流并且可具有多磅的重量,从而希望提供促进以自然和明显的方式操纵的连接器。
这种类型的现有连接器具有通过扳机控制的闩锁机构,扳机由拇指或食指操作。许多的人不清楚如何操作它们。
发明内容
根据本发明的一个实施例,提供了一种电连接器,这种电连接器用于抓住在手中并且用于插入电接收器中,这种电连接器建立了与接收器的电连接并且基本自动地闩锁到接收器。所述连接器包括主体,所述主体具有:主体前端部,所述主体前端部沿水平轴线延伸;主体后端部,所述主体后端部保持电缆的端部并且以45°的向下向后的倾角延伸;以及主体中部,所述主体中部具有凹入弯曲的底部。人趋于通过将他的拇指围绕中部的顶部放置同时他的其它手指在凹入弯曲的底部下方延伸而握持所述连接器。这样使得人能够通过以握手的方式抓住连接器并且向前运动他的手而插入连接器。

具体实施方式
图1示出电连接器10,电连接器10位于电缆12的端部并且设计成连接到匹配连接器或电接收器14。在多数情况下,接收器14安装在(具有或不具有辅助内燃机的)电动车辆20上。所述系统设计成载有相当大的电流以便为车辆电池或电池组快速充电,并且所述连接器可具有多磅的重量。所述连接器设计成以从连接器的形状显而易见并且自动闩锁和解锁连接器的方式被保持和连接。也就是说,人用他的拇指T部分地围绕连接器的顶部延伸并且用其它手指(包括食指I、中指M、无名指R和小拇指Z的非拇指手指)部分地围绕连接器的底部22延伸,从而抓住连接器。此外,手掌垫30在人抓住连接器时由人的手掌P自动地按压,以操作闩锁机构32。结果,在连接器插入和移除的过程中,连接器被保持并且随后从接收器释放,而无需人关注闩锁机构。
所述连接器包括主体40,主体40由聚合物模制而成,并且主体40具有前端部42、后端部44和中部46。闩锁机构32从主体的前端部伸出、平行于前部连接结构48并且能够接合接收器上的卡锁装置(catch)50。手掌垫绕横向L延伸轴线52枢转地安装并且被向上U偏压,以用于向下D推动闩锁机构32。手掌垫的后部位于主体顶表面33的相邻部分上方大约1/4英寸。当人用他的拇指部分地围绕主体的顶部54延伸并且用他的其它手指部分地围绕底部22延伸而抓住连接器时,人的手掌置于手掌垫上并且按压手掌垫,以便按压手掌垫的后部84,由此自动操作闩锁机构,以便让闩锁机构准备好接合接收器上的卡锁装置50。
如图2所示,主体前部42沿大体水平(±10°)的轴线60延伸,而主体后部44和电缆12的前端沿向下D并且向后R延伸的轴线62延伸。轴线62从轴线60以大约45°(45°±15°)的向下角度A延伸。所述主体具有沿各轴线大约相等的水平宽度和竖直高度(其中一个不比另一个大两倍),如图3所示。主体的底部22具有高度弯曲部分64,弯曲部分64绕着距离在主体下方大约1英寸(1/2英寸到2英寸)的距离68处定位的横向轴线66凹入弯曲。在弯曲部分64的前端80处,在横截面C-C处,主体所具有的宽度和高度均为大约21/4英寸(优选1.75英寸到2.75英寸)。图3示出直径为21/4英寸的假想圆70,拇指T和食指I位于假想圆70上。(例如拇指的指尖和食指的指尖之间距离为6英寸的)中等大小的手能够围绕主体的中部自身环绕180°以上。
如图3所示,沿轴线60看去,主体的前部42具有大圆形底部,在顶部具有直立的脊部72,并且在所述脊部的相反两侧上具有一对略微凹入的沟槽或凹槽74、76。主体的后部44是圆形的,并且具有大约1.7英寸的直径。包括在主体长度中部处的弯曲部和从主体的后端向下和向后延伸的电缆的该形状使得对于伸出手去抓连接器的人而言,以下是显而易见的:用位于顶部的手掌垫抓住连接器,并且将他/她的拇指置于所述沟槽之一中,同时他/她的其它手指部分地围绕主体的底部延伸。如上面所提及的,这样抓住连接器致使人的手掌在它紧握时按压手掌垫。
图4示出本发明另一实施例的连接器100的左侧,该连接器除了具有更长的后部102之外与图1-3的连接器相同。这样使得能够在食指I和拇指T位于凹入弯曲的主体底部64的前端82(图5)处而不是位于后部80处的情况下容易地抓住连接器。手掌垫104是更长的,以进一步向后延伸,从而连接器能够被以图1或图4的方式容易地抓住。在两种情况下,手掌垫的后端84、106位于主体的后部21/4英寸内,在此处电缆在110处露出,以便最小化手掌垫夹痛人手掌跟的可能性。夹痛手掌跟是完全不可能的。当手掌垫未被按压时,手掌垫的后部从主体向上伸出大约1/4英寸。
人抓住如图1或4所示的连接器,使之向前运动到匹配连接器或接收器14中,并且松开他/她的抓住。闩锁机构由弹簧力自动地操作,以便将连接器保持到接收器。为了移除连接器,人抓住连接器,这样做时按压手掌垫,以便释放闩锁机构并且允许从接收器上取下连接器。

Claims (8)

1.一种电连接器,所述电连接器用于由手抓住并插入电接收器(14)中并且被闩锁在所述电接收器中,其中:
所述连接器具有主体(40),所述主体具有前端部(42),所述前端部具有水平的前轴线(60)并且能沿大体水平的方向插入所述接收器中;所述连接器具有闩锁机构,所述闩锁机构能被闩锁到所述接收器,以便将所述连接器保持匹配到所述接收器;所述主体具有后端部(44),所述后端部保持电缆(12)的前端,所述主体的后端部和所述电缆的前端沿后轴线(62)延伸,当所述前轴线是水平的时,所述后轴线以向下向后的倾角(A)延伸;并且所述主体具有中部(46),所述中部具有底表面(22),以便能够接收抵靠所述底表面的手的非拇指手指;
所述闩锁机构包括手掌垫(30),所述手掌垫位于所述主体的顶部上并且能运动地安装在所述主体上,所述手掌垫具有垫后部,所述垫后部被向上弹簧偏压,使得所述垫后部能够容易地被抓住所述连接器的人在同一只手上在人的手掌和人的非拇指手指之间按压。

主体,所述主体具有前部和后部(42,44),所述前部具有大体水平的轴线(60),而所述后部具有与所述水平轴线成大约45°的向下向后的角度延伸的后轴线(62);
电缆(12),所述电缆具有从所述主体的后部的后端沿所述后轴线延伸的前端;
所述主体具有主体的中部(46),所述主体的中部位于所述前部和所述后部之间,所述中部具有的宽度和高度使得人能够将他的拇指和食指环绕主体的中部180°以上,以便将所述连接器抓住在一只手中。
