Abstract

Description
技术领域
本发明涉及电缆连接器。更特别地,本发明涉及用于改进连接器到电缆的保持以及无源(passive)互调失真(PIM)电气性能的连接器稳定耦合主体组件。
背景技术
同轴电缆连接器用于例如要求高水平的精度和可靠性的通信系统中。
为了在电缆和连接器之间产生牢固的机械和优化的电互连,期望在同轴电缆外导体的前边缘和连接器主体之间具有大致均匀的圆周接触。外导体的扩口端可以经由耦合主体夹在连接器主体的环形的楔面上。该技术的代表是1998年8月18日授权给Harwath的共有的美国专利No.5,795,188。
替代形式的连接器到电缆末端机电互连包括连接器的接触和抓持同轴电缆的内和/或外导体的各种抓持表面配置。
在系统安装期间,旋转力可以施加到安装的连接器,例如当连接的同轴电缆向着下一互连处延伸、运动到合适位置和/或弯曲,用于对齐电缆支架和/或保持吊架时。同轴电缆和同轴连接器关于彼此的转动会损坏连接器、电缆和/或电缆/连接器一体连接的完整性。进一步地,一旦安装好,随着时间施加到互连处的扭曲、弯曲和/或振动会导致连接器到电缆的互连变差,和/或引入PIM。
现有技术的同轴连接器典型地利用耦合和/或支撑主体作为用于夹持和/或抓持连接器的互连机构的驱动装置和/或作为用于使得内部元件例如密封件和/或电接触元件容易插入连接器内的易于组装的装置。耦合和/或支撑主体还可以包括在同轴电缆上经由挤压作用相对于连接器主体挤压成密封构型的弹性环境密封件。该技术的代表是2006年7月18日授予Islam等人的共有的美国专利No.7,077,699。尽管被挤压以径向向内延伸以接触同轴电缆的护套的环境密封件可以提供给同轴连接器稳定效果,但是环境密封件典型地由弹性材料形成以使得弹性密封在护套上弹性变形接触。因此,从环境密封件获得的任何稳定效果是有限的。
同轴电缆连接器市场中的竞争已经集中注意力在提高电气性能并最小化总成本,包括材料成本,对安装人员的培训要求,减少专门的安装工具和需要的安装步骤和/或操作的总量。
发明内容
因此,本发明的目的之一是提供克服现有技术的不足的耦合和/或支撑主体。
根据本发明,提供了一种用于同轴连接器的稳定耦合主体组件,包括:耦合主体,该耦合主体尺寸适合以在所述耦合主体的连接器末端处与所述连接器的电缆末端耦合;硬质材料的护套抓持件,该护套抓持件保持在所述耦合主体和耦合到所述耦合主体的电缆末端的稳定主体之间;邻接所述稳定主体的环形楔形表面的护套抓持件的外径部分;在紧邻所述护套抓持件的连接器末端的最大直径和紧邻所述环形楔形表面的电缆末端的最小直径之间设置有锥度的楔形表面;由此当所述稳定主体向着所述耦合主体轴向前进时所述护套抓持件被径向向内驱动。
根据本发明的另一方面,提供了一种用于制造用于同轴连接器的稳定耦合主体组件的方法,包括以下步骤:形成耦合主体,该耦合主体尺度适合以在所述耦合主体的连接器末端上与所述连接器的电缆末端耦合;形成硬质材料的护套抓持件;形成稳定主体,该稳定主体尺度适合以耦合到所述耦合主体的电缆末端;在所述耦合主体和稳定主体之间插入所述护套抓持件并耦合所述耦合主体到所述稳定主体;所述护套抓持件的外径部分邻接所述稳定主体的环形楔形表面;所述楔形表面在紧邻所述护套抓持件的连接器末端的最大直径和紧邻所述环形楔形表面的电缆末端的最小直径之间设置有锥度;由此所述护套抓持件随着所述稳定主体向着所述耦合主体轴向前进而被径向向内驱动。

具体实施方式
本发明人已经认识到,连接器和同轴电缆之间的对齐的移动和/或歪斜会产生不可接受水平的PIM和/或否则有损机电互连,例如由于接触面相对于彼此偏移和/或不够均一的圆周接触发生在连接器的电接触元件和内和/或外导体之间。
具有连接器到电缆互连稳定功能的耦合主体组件1的第一实施例示出在图1-4中。如在图3和4中最好地示出,耦合主体组件1包括耦合主体3,其尺度适合以在耦合主体3的连接器末端耦合同轴连接器主体9的电缆末端7。
本领域技术人员将认识到,连接器末端5和电缆末端7在这里用作在这里描述的整个组件以及组件的离散元件的各个末端的识别标志,以根据在连接器末端5和电缆末端7之间沿着同轴连接器的纵轴的它们的排列来识别相同的以及它们各自的互连表面。

硬质材料例如丙烯酸的或者聚碳酸酯塑料的护套抓持件15保持在耦合主体3和耦合到耦合主体3的电缆末端7的稳定主体17之间。护套抓持件15可以是C形状的,尺度适合配合在耦合主体组件1内并使得在同轴连接器23到同轴电缆13的互连过程中同轴电缆13能够插入通过其中。护套抓持件15的外径具有邻接稳定主体17的内径环形楔形表面21的接触表面19、楔形表面21在紧邻护套抓持件15的连接器末端5的最大直径和紧邻楔形表面21的电缆末端7的最小直径之间设置有锥度。
当稳定主体17向着耦合主体3例如经由螺纹25或者替代地轴向挤压干涉配合而轴向前进时,护套抓持件15的倾斜接触表面19接触稳定主体17的楔形表面21,驱动护套抓持件15抵靠耦合主体3的向内突起的台肩27,然后径向向内抵靠着同轴电缆13的护套29。当护套抓持件15的内径接合护套29时,在耦合主体组件1和连接的同轴连接器主体9之间建立牢固的稳定接触,该接触在护套抓持件15的宽度上分布。通过使得护套抓持件15的宽度,例如至少与期望的同轴电缆波纹周期一样宽和/或与护套抓持件15的横截面高度的至少两倍宽,由稳定接触产生的同轴电缆变形的机会减小。因为护套抓持件15是由硬质的不可压缩的材料形成并且护套抓持件15和耦合主体3和稳定主体17之间的接触是硬的点,所以一旦护套29已经随着接触而变形,如果适用的话,稳定接触实质上是刚性的。

如在图1中最好地示出,为了保持耦合到耦合主体3的稳定主体17预组装但是没有轴向上紧,保持机构例如耦合主体3的保持唇部33和稳定主体17的相应的保持毛刺部35可形成为分别向外和向内的突起。保持唇部33和保持毛刺部35共同协作以在当已经达到初始轴向位置时咬入接合并相互保持。因此,护套抓持件15和任何适用的环境密封件可预安装在耦合主体组件1之内以使得安装者没有初始组装操作以执行和/或保证这些内部元件在互连之前不丢失,从而简化同轴连接器23与同轴电缆13的互连。
耦合主体3、护套抓持件15和稳定主体17可以例如通过聚合物材料经由注模成型而低成本制造。注模成型可以在材料消耗方面进一步优化并通过形成具有多个向内延伸的支撑翅片37的稳定主体17的区域而减少模制缺陷例如翘曲和凹陷,取代在结构的材料强度要求降低的地方具有显著的材料厚度的传统的实心构型。进一步地,为了简化模具设计和模具分离机械结构,螺纹25和/或向内/向外突起的保持唇部33和/或保持毛刺部35可以作为弧段而非连续的环形特征被采用。因此,在相应的模具部分和/或被模制部件转动时,能够实现轴向模具分离。
在使用中,同轴连接器根据选择的耦合主体3的连接器末端5和同轴连接器主体9的机电构型而与同轴电缆互连,例如如图1所示。一旦机电互连完成,稳定主体17的连接器末端5向着耦合主体3的电缆末端7前进,在本例子中是通过螺纹接合螺纹25在一起,从而径向向内驱动护套抓持件15到与护套29稳定接触,如图2所示。
本领域技术人员将认识到本发明的显著的制造、安装和互连稳定优点。进一步地,因为耦合主体组件1与同轴连接器主体9分离,本发明的优点可以通过应用例如如图5所示的具有标准化的护套抓持件15和稳定主体17的耦合主体组件1而应用到现有的连接器家族。因此,仅要求耦合主体3的最小的重新设计,来配合耦合主体组件1与任何特定的同轴连接器主体9以获得由此产生的稳定接触的优点。

Claims (15)

所述环形楔形表面在紧邻所述护套抓持件的连接器末端的最大直径和紧邻所述环形楔形表面的电缆末端的最小直径之间设置有锥度;由此当所述稳定主体向着所述耦合主体轴向前进时所述护套抓持件被径向向内驱动。

10.如权利要求1所述的组件,其中,所述稳定主体设置有紧邻所述稳定主体的电缆末端的多个向内突起的支撑翅片。
11.一种用于制造用于同轴连接器的稳定耦合主体组件的方法,包括以下步骤:
形成耦合主体,该耦合主体尺度适合以在所述耦合主体的连接器末端上与所述连接器的电缆末端耦合;
形成硬质材料的护套抓持件;
形成稳定主体,该稳定主体尺度适合以耦合到所述耦合主体的电缆末端;
在所述耦合主体和稳定主体之间插入所述护套抓持件并耦合所述耦合主体到所述稳定主体;
所述护套抓持件的外径部分邻接所述稳定主体的环形楔形表面;
所述环形楔形表面在紧邻所述护套抓持件的连接器末端的最大直径和紧邻所述环形楔形表面的电缆末端的最小直径之间设置有锥度;由此所述护套抓持件随着所述稳定主体向着所述耦合主体轴向前进而被径向向内驱动。
12.如权利要求11所述的方法,其中,所述硬质材料是丙烯酸的。
13.如权利要求11所述的方法,进一步包括在所述耦合主体上的保持唇部和在所述稳定主体上的保持毛刺部;
当所述稳定主体耦合所述耦合主体时,所述保持唇部接合所述保持毛刺部,从而保持所述稳定主体在所述耦合主体上。
14.如权利要求13所述的方法,其中,所述保持唇部和所述保持毛刺部形成为弧段的突起。
15.如权利要求11所述的方法,其中,所述耦合主体和所述稳定主体之间的耦合是经由螺纹形成的,所述螺纹形成为弧段。
